The Demon Emperor was Saint Emperor-Chapter 49: Catherine and Xiya
In the end, Marquis Jones and his wife decisively bid farewell and did not plan to stay for lunch at Lynn’s house.
However, Vivian was left behind because Little Yuna was reluctant to part with her.
Of course, who exactly couldn’t bear to part with Vivian didn’t matter to the elderly couple; what they cared about was whether Vivian could get along well with Xiya.
It shouldn’t be a problem, after all, elves are naturally close to nature and generally have gentle temperaments. And Vivian, under normal circumstances, is also a soft-natured person, quite easy to get along with.
Combined with the fact that Lynn shouldn’t be inexperienced, given his handsome, charming appearance, his skills in wooing girls should be top-notch; he should manage things competently.
With this thought in mind, Marquis Jones and his wife felt at ease leaving, allowing Vivian to stay at Lynn’s house to help him out.
Lynn himself didn’t expect that Vivian, as a noble-born delicate lady, would actually possess such impressive cookery skills.
Although it was limited to baking pastries, it broke her image as merely a vase of beauty.
When Little Yuna blissfully ate the cupcakes Vivian baked, a happy expression on her face, Lynn knew he had found the right wife.
Little Youli also loved eating the cupcakes, so she would certainly be satisfied with this new mom. Even if it might not surpass her affection for Xiya for the moment, over time, she would willingly fall into Vivian’s embrace with each bite.
Hmm, speaking of Little Youli and Xiya, where are they now? There is a direct teleportation array from Victory City to Celestial Destiny City; if they’re coming, they should be about due by now, right?
Xiya shouldn’t be arriving only at night with the kids; perhaps it’s time to go meet them at the teleportation array...
Meanwhile, in front of the teleportation array in Celestial Destiny City, Catherine hurried over, holding a beautiful three-colored cat.
Seeing no elven beauty with children waiting at the teleportation array, Catherine breathed a sigh of relief as she stroked the cat’s head, thankful she wasn’t late.
Even though it wasn’t a date, she took the visit of her good friend very seriously.
Without surprises, as her work gradually reduced, she intended to accompany her friend on a journey to the outside world, partly to find the last hope of escaping a predicament, and if not, at least to take a good look at the vast world...
Having been an instructor for over a decade, she was almost trapped in this huge... vast Celestial Destiny Empire, and now with not much time left, she wanted to see the world.
"Whoosh~~"
At that moment, a new group of people arrived in Celestial Destiny City via the teleportation array, and as Catherine looked up, she immediately spotted her good friend Xiya in the crowd.
No matter the crowd, Xiya’s radiance could not be concealed; she was always so attention-grabbing wherever she went.
It’s only because her reputation in Celestial Destiny City was so large that no one dared to bother her, not when she was the woman who refused His Majesty the Emperor. Who would dare court death?
Occasionally, newcomers or foreigners, unable to resist Xiya’s charm, would attempt to approach her, but typically they would be taken away by the imperial city’s street patrol guards.
What a joke, if the Elf Queen’s sister got into trouble in Celestial Destiny Empire, who could bear that responsibility?
The Celestial Destiny Empire might be one of the Eight Great Empires of the Divine Protection Continent, but it was only the weakest empire. Meanwhile, the Elf Kingdom, now the premier of eighteen kingdoms, had the potential to ascend to an empire.
Unless absolutely necessary, even the incompetent and ignorant Celestial Mandate Emperor wished to avoid confrontation with the Elf Kingdom; he even sought marriage alliance with them, but they simply weren’t interested.
"Xiya~ over here, over here."
Catherine waved a paw of the three-colored cat at Xiya, successfully summoning them over.
Following the flow of people out of the teleportation array, Xiya, holding an eagerly expectant Little Youli, headed towards Catherine’s side, then swiftly took the dizzy three-colored cat from her.
As soon as it was in Xiya’s arms, the three-colored cat nuzzled warmly against her chest as though it found its family.
In truth, Xiya’s embrace wasn’t as large as Catherine’s, but Catherine never really treated the cat as a cat, and after all, it was cozier in Xiya’s mother’s arms. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
"Naughty one."
With one hand still holding Little Youli, and the other unable to stop the three-colored cat, Xiya helplessly let it burrow into her collar.
From an outside view, it seemed like Xiya’s figure was suddenly a level higher than Catherine’s, just because of the cat snug within.
"It’s been a while, Xiya; you’ve changed so much~~ ah!"
Catherine wasn’t pleased that her little female cat was so affectionate with others, yet reuniting with a dear friend was such a joy that she forgave her insubordinate cat’s antics.
"Maybe it’s because I’ve shed the burden; as an elf, I’m much more at ease."
Xiya wasn’t oblivious to Catherine’s banter, but she didn’t wish to engage in such topics with the older woman, especially with Little Youli nearby.
"Did your orphanage really shut down?"
Hearing what Xiya said, Catherine glanced at the little girl she held and then asked.
"No, it didn’t shut down. All the children found homes, so the shelter no longer needed to exist."
Xiya said as she patted Little Youli’s round head. Once she delivered her to Lord Lynn, her mission would be completed, perhaps it was time to return to the Elf Kingdom and begin her new life.
Of course, when she returned, she had to bring Lord Lynn along. If her sister saw that she brought back the great benefactor of the Elf Race, she would be incredibly delighted.
Thinking of this, Xiya’s naturally cold face couldn’t help but show a light smile. Though not pronounced, against her unmatched beauty, even a slight smile was radiantly charming.
Not just the innocent bystanders admiring from afar, even Catherine, often mesmerized by her reflection, couldn’t withstand Xiya’s faint smile.
Suddenly, the sound of "bang bang" echoed relentlessly in the distance as unknown numbers of people were colliding with others or doorposts, not excluding women.
As for Catherine, closest to Xiya, a smitten look spread across her face, with her hands starting to reach towards Xiya.
Then she got clawed...
Damn! Why was there a Guardian Divine Beast on Xiya’s chest?
After getting a gentle swat from her family’s cat, Catherine retracted her paws blankly, acting as if she hadn’t been the one trying to get fresh.
"Let’s leave; if you stay here any longer, you’ll cause more traffic accidents."
Catherine said while trying to retrieve her cat, but the little thing burrowed too deeply for her to reach, so she straightforwardly took Little Youli from Xiya’s hand and picked her up instead.
That was nice too; while not as fluffy as the cat, it was quite soft.
"Let’s go to my place!"
Catherine cheerfully headed off with the little girl in her arms.
"No, let’s go to her place first."
With the obedient three-colored cat in her embrace, Xiya pointed to Little Youli in Catherine’s arms and corrected the route.
