The Delicate Darling with Her Rough Man-Chapter 217 - 216: The Wild Boar Has Come
Wild boars usually stayed deep within Daqing Mountain and were rarely encountered. Yet, the squeal they just heard sounded like it came from the educated youth settlement.
The group scrambled to the top of the hill. Looking down, they had a clear view of the entire educated youth courtyard.
「In the educated youth courtyard.」
A wild boar was on a rampage.
Several educated youths clutched various farm tools in their hands, their eyes glued to the boar. They looked utterly wretched.
This was a wild boar, after all.
It wasn’t that they’d never seen a wild boar before. But the ones they had seen were dead; this one was alive.
It was a massive, full-grown boar, looking to weigh over two hundred kilograms. It was fast and ferocious, with two sharp tusks jutting from its mouth. No one dared to confront it head-on.
All they could do was scramble to dodge the boar’s attacks.
Even Yun Hao, who was normally so clean and refined, looked disheveled. His clothes, face, and hair were covered in dust, and his handsome features were set in a grim expression.
The boar stood opposite the educated youths, snorting. It locked onto its target, dug its hooves in, and charged toward them at incredible speed.
Yun Hao quickly shouted, "Get out of the way!"
The educated youths scattered in a panic.
The boar’s head slammed right into the kitchen behind them.
The settlement’s kitchen was an old wooden structure. When the boar crashed into it, the entire building instantly collapsed.
The sound of shattering bowls and plates followed.
The sound made every one of the educated youths’ hearts clench.
All their bowls and plates were destroyed.
The boar had demolished the kitchen, but it was unharmed, just a little dizzy.
The boar shook its head, reoriented itself, and charged at the group again.
The people at the settlement once again scrambled to get out of the way.
Hu Ziqiang couldn’t help but look toward Yun Hao.
"Yun Hao, what do we do? We can’t keep this up!"
Yun Hao fell silent for a moment before an idea struck him. "He’s right, we can’t just keep dodging. Why don’t we attack it together?"
"There are so many of us. You’re telling me we can’t take down one pig?"
Hearing this, the others thought it made sense.
Just dodging wasn’t a sustainable plan.
But Li Fenggu thought it was too risky.
"A boar’s hide is thick; it’s not easy to kill. If we attack rashly, we might just enrage it. Then things will only get worse."
Being contradicted made Yun Hao uncomfortable, but Li Fenggu had been sent to the countryside long before him, so he couldn’t just refute his opinion to his face.
"Then what do you suggest?"
Li Fenggu was silent for a moment before speaking slowly. "We split up. One person goes to get the brigade leader and ask him to bring reinforcements. Someone else goes to find Leng Yuan."
At the mention of Leng Yuan’s name, Yun Hao’s lips thinned, and a flicker of displeasure crossed his eyes.
"We’re dealing with a boar. Why do we need to get Leng Yuan?"
’And we have to go out of our way to find him!’
Li Fenggu wasn’t overthinking it; he was just being practical.
"Leng Yuan is the only one in the entire village skilled enough to hunt and kill a wild boar. Getting him to help is the quickest and safest option."
"This boar is extremely agitated. Every minute that passes increases the danger. If someone fails to dodge in time and gets hit, they’ll likely end up with broken bones right then and there."
Yun Hao said nothing.
He had to admit that Li Fenggu was right. But the thought of Leng Yuan marrying Gu Jiaojiao—the girl who had once adored him—and her seemingly settling down to live a life with him, left a sour taste in his mouth.
So, he rejected Li Fenggu’s suggestion.
"I saw Leng Yuan and Chen JianShe go up the mountain together today. What if we can’t find them? It would be a wasted trip."
"And like you said, every minute that passes increases the danger. With so many of us, are you telling me we still can’t kill a single boar?"
’Anything Leng Yuan can do, I can do too.’
Just as they were arguing, the boar charged again.
This time, it slammed into the girls’ dormitory. With a loud BANG, the window shattered.
The faces of the female educated youths went pale. Glass required a special permit these days—and even then, it wasn’t guaranteed. This was a huge problem.
