THE DEATH KNELL-Chapter 49: SLADE WILSON’S SECRE
Chapter 49 - SLADE WILSON'S SECRE
Barry scratched his hair. He was still hungry and felt unable to concentrate at all. It was dark here, making him want to sleep.
But he still cheered up, rubbing his face with both hands, and asked Batwoman:
"What do you mean when you say that Slade Wilson is not Slade Wilson? It is a fake?"
"We men here can reach this point with guns, which does not exist in my impression." Batwoman enlarged the image and zoomed in on the body of Slade Wilson: "This man's bone structure is male."
Batwoman finished speaking. She took screenshots of the police station post behind Slade Wilson, the TV station's OB van, and Slade Wilson himself, measured the horizontal distance between them, and created a scale.
"The OB van of Gotham TV uses the 'Amazon' 1999 model produced by Metropolis. The height of the carriage is 3.5 meters... The height of the gate of the Gotham Police Department is 6.2 meters in the official record. Due to geological reasons, it will sink 0.01 meters every year after 1996... and Cindy Wilson's height...1.73 meters..."
After inputting these data, the host made a beeping sound, and almost a big red cross appeared, which made Batwoman shrug.
"It doesn't match. This person is 1.84 meters tall, and he is male... Now it is not only my personal impression, but even the system determines that there is no such person in Gotham."
Barry had long discovered the food left on the table. He fished out some soup from the cauldron and put it in his mouth with a large wooden spoon. The unpalatable taste made him shiver. This ghost thing tasted like sticky nose.
But he cheered himself up. He was a superhero; how could he not be able to endure the bitterness? He needed nutrition, and he needed it now.

"So, the footprints on the top of the dinosaur's head are his. He killed your dragon."
"Well, thank you for your reminder." Batwoman was expressionless, and she didn't know what kind of black account Slade Wilson had in his heart: "After recording the news, he and Cindy hijacked Barbara and two reporters from the TV station, coming here together."
Barry put the unpalatable sweet soup into his mouth. The soup had cooled and solidified, and there was not a trace of sweetness. The numbness of his tongue made him slurred when he spoke: "Then they happily ate dinner with you, Puddin left, and neither Barbara nor the reporter showed any signs of being threatened."
"This is what I can't figure out..." Batwoman also picked out a piece of lettuce from the pot, only licked it and spit it out, looked at Barry with incredulous eyes, and shook her head: "The reporter I can understand, after all, news is valuable, but Barbara..."
"...Did you contact Director Gordon?" Barry swallowed hard, let out a groan of pain, and gasped for a moment before he began to remind her.
"This Slade Wilson is calling him. I think I can't make the call." Batwoman started to make calls with the host so that no call records would be left. At the same time, she said to Alfred: "You better prepare food soon. Our guest was eating the dishes made by Slade Wilson, and after only a small bite, I felt that I was going to be killed by her."
"Of course, miss, the food is already on the stove."
Alfred walked up the stairs again to prepare food—making the guests hungry was not something a housekeeper should do.
"Gordon can't get in touch. What's interesting is that this device once tracked down a license plate number and the location of Alfred and me." Batwoman sat down with interest and found a puddle of soot at her side. She paused, squinting her eyes.
"It should be Barbara." Barry patted his stomach, and he felt a little uncomfortable.
"Barbara's computer skills are very strong?" Batwoman asked again.
"Strong, it can be said to be one of the best people on the planet." Barry said about his side. He didn't have much contact with Oracle because his colleagues in Midtown were all scientific madmen and could provide all-round logistical support. The only contact channel between him and Barbara was the occasional video call in the Justice League: "She is not only very powerful in hacking skills but also has command and leadership skills. We have many female heroes who want to listen to her."
Batwoman held her arms quietly, wiping the yellow smoke scars on the desktop: "This is interesting because Barbara in our world is just an ordinary high school student who has never shown her own talent. I don't know, nor does Gordon..."
Barry raised an eyebrow. He seemed to understand something: "But Slade Wilson knows. He brought Barbara to you with a very clear purpose and operated your 'Brother Eye' system to find someone."
"Uh, my system doesn't have a name. Even if you ask for a name, it will be called Sister Eye..." Batwoman stared at the screen and called up the location that was waiting for someone to query. The map shone brightly: "This Slade Wilson is the Slade Wilson of your world?"
Barry shook his head: "No, our Slade Wilson is 1.94 meters tall. He and Aquaman went to Atlantis to find something. They are not able to cross dimensions. I am responsible for finding multiverse reinforcements... It turned out to be something unexpected."
"I know, you have said many times that it is uncertain to travel through the world by incorporating superb power. When you encountered the Ghost of Time, you finally escaped and fell into our world..." Batwoman called up the information on Indian Hills and checked it carefully, but a junkyard could not see anything.
"Yes, that's it. Then I found that time went back a bit, and it didn't trigger the Flashpoint effect. The world is still the same, and Gotham is still so messy." Barry sat on the table aside and tried to wave his arm with great speed to help Batwoman wipe off the macula on the table, but the smoky macula got bigger and bigger.
"Our world is different Even if it triggers your so-called Flashpoint effect, you can't tell... Then you discover that the world that should have been destroyed actually still exists. I should be your enemy, but I am not crazy yet." Batwoman said calmly.
Barry opened his eyes wide, breathed a sigh of relief on the table, and smiled embarrassedly.
"That's it. I now suspect that Slade Wilson may come from another parallel universe, maybe at the same time as me... It is possible that we collided in the Speed Force realm. My arrival time was advanced, and his arrival time was pushed back, and we offset each other's speed. So only a small aftermath caused a change in your world. It seems that this change is good, and our winning rate has increased."
"I just want to keep my own world. As for helping you fight Barbatos, I don't have the energy. My world doesn't have so many heroes like you. Here, lunatics all over the world like to come to Gotham. If it weren't for you with incredible speed, I wouldn't even leave Gotham."
Batwoman replied faintly, making Barry a little embarrassed. Fortunately, after a few minutes, Alfred's appearance broke the strange atmosphere.
"Miss and Mr. Allen. Dinner is ready. Today's main course is beef stew with red wine. Side dishes include roasted oysters and parsley chicken rolls, lobster sashimi. The main course is European noodles, but given the limited time, the beef may not be tender enough."
"It's already very good. Send it here. I need to make some preparations. I'm curious about what this strange person wants to do." Batwoman smiled and said to Alfred, feeling very proud that she could do it in ten minutes. Only her butler could produce beef stew.
At the same time, she already had a general guess in her heart.
"This Slade Wilson has his own clear goal, and he knows many things."
