The Crown's Seduction-Chapter 47: Take Control
Chapter 47: Take Control
Mineah gathered her strength as she met Nikolai's intense stare after she bravely asked the question about Rosela. It was only unfortunate that she couldn't read his mind to find out his genuine answer.
From what she recalled, Rosela and Dahlia were identical twins, meaning that they looked exactly the same. It was possible that Nikolai was seeing Dahlia in Rosela. After all, she was his first love.
Somehow, for unknown reasons, Mineah felt something sharp gliding through her heart from that thought.
"Are you jealous, Mine?" Nikolai directly asked while casually moving his arms
Mineah flinched at the question. Should she say yes? Was that what she was feeling right now? Was it really jealousy? She couldn't be sure just yet.
Turning away from Nikolai's piercing gaze, Mineah deftly changed the topic. "How do we get food out here?" she asked aloud. "I'm starving. Can you go out and hunt? I'll cook for us."
Nikolai chuckled, and she stiffened when she felt his nose nuzzling against her neck. She was sniffing her, but she really didn't want to think otherwise.
"What are you doing?" she breathed out.
"Sniffing to confirm your jealousy," he nonchalantly replied.
"Stop that! Jealousy has no smell!" she snorted.
Despite that, he didn't stop. Already, she was feeling ticklish as she felt the tip of his nose caress the skin of her neck. His warm breaths kissed her skin, and eventually, something weird began running through her spine just before he backed away from her.
"I beg to differ," Nikolai smirked as he crossed his arms while staring at her. "There's a reason why the saying 'you can smell fear' exists."
"It's just a metaphor," Mineah retorted. "Emotions don't have scents."
Instead of replying, Nikolai simply scoffed at her, and she couldn't help but blush as she caught a glimpse of his smug smile even as he turned around.
She let out a small sigh as she placed a hand over her chest. Three days… Will he torture her like this for three days?
'I should really step up my game,' she inwardly scolded herself. 'I can't just let him get the initiative on me.'
Taking a deep breath, Mineah steeled herself for the inevitable. She was going to seduce this man even if it was the last thing she would do!
'Make him fall for you!' she psyched herself up. 'You can do this!'
With a grit of her teeth, Mineah turned to the object of her goals. Her eyes burning with determination, she moved to grab him by the arm just before he could leave the house.
"Wait."
"Hmm?" Nikolai hummed as he turned to face her. "What is it, Mine?"
Her heart beat a mile a minute within her chest as her face burned red. The image that she had in her head didn't prepare her for what she had in mind for this moment.
Moving to close the distance between them, Mineah didn't hesitate to pull herself close to him before lunging and pecking her husband's cheek with a chaste kiss. It was far from what they'd already done, but her lips still burned by the time she was done.
"A… A good luck kiss," she sheepishly admitted. "For your hunt."
A brief silence passed between them, and Mineah was almost afraid that her act had just made her look more foolish in front of him. Still, it was a good idea, right? There was value to be had for her to give him a kiss. Granted, it wasn't the same as the last time that they actually kissed, but-
"You call that a kiss, Mine?"
Mineah stiffened as she heard Nikolai chuckle in front of her. Against her better judgment, the embarrassment within her chest blossomed as she did her best to look small in front of him. There was just something demeaning in his voice, something that her pride just couldn't let go of despite knowing that he didn't mean ill with it whatsoever.
"It's… It's the thought that counts," she weakly rebutted.
"I can agree to that, but let me show you what a real good luck kiss should feel like."
Before she could even move, Nikolai had already cupped her cheeks, their faces quickly closing the distance between them as their lips touched once more.
Mineah could only moan as the sensations blooming within her only grew in size and scope with each second that their lips stayed together. The heat within her threatened to explode, her heart fluttering against her ribcage as she did her best not to melt into his embrace.
"There," he chuckled. "Now that was a proper kiss."
Mineah absently blinked as she raised a finger to feel her lips. She didn't even realize that the kiss was over until he spoke to her again.
"I'll be back with a bit of wildlife for you to cook," Nikolai smirked as he turned towards the door. "Stay put and rest, Mine. I'm sure you're still tired."

Mineah was speechless. Speechless and frozen in a flurry of emotions that she couldn't fully describe. On one hand, the tingling sensation still lingering on her lips was still haunting her. The pressure within her had only grown stronger, and her eyes were still glued to her husband's back as he moved to leave the house.
'He's leaving…' she absently thought. 'I should do something…'
Try as she might, however, her legs refused to move. Her body was still too shocked at the sudden kiss from earlier. And all the while, Nikolai slowly left her view. In fact, he almost looked like he was doing this on purpose.
"Mine."
She flinched. "Y-Yes?"
"You look like you want to say something," he remarked, his gaze not even landing on her as he kept his back to her. "Well?"
Mineah almost felt her lips fail her. What did she want to say? Why did she even want to stop him?
'I can't just let things end here,' she rationalized. 'I can still take control…'
Taking a deep breath, she gathered her wits as she finally replied, "I'm coming with you."
