The Countess Lives Twice in the Apocalypse-Chapter 103: One-hundred-two
With a single quick and powerful horizontal swing, Jannah’s sword connected with the zombie’s neck, her blade cutting through the grey and black flesh with ease, sending the zombie’s head rolling off to the ground.
The undead’s body hit the ground with a heavy thud as soon as its head got sliced off, its lifeless form laying still in the dirt.
Jannah didn’t waste any time, her sword already moving towards the next zombie, ready to deliver the same fate.
She quickly spun around, barely evading the filthy hands of the zombie that tried to test its luck and grab her— her sword sliced through the air in a swift horizontal arc, the blade cutting deep into the rotting flesh.
Just like the first one, the body crumpled at her feet, its head lolling to one side.
"Grrr..!" The third zombie stumbled toward her, its body already beginning to start looking like it was about to explode, its skin having a black and blue bubble rising, a dark looking goo inside the said bubble.
Swallowing in disgust, Jannah lunged forward, her weapon flashing in a crescent swing in the air, the blade sliced through the zombie’s head, cutting through its skull and brain with ease.
The zombie’s sliced off head rolled down, blood spluttering in the air and staining Jannah’s cheeks with small droplets, making her reel back in disdain almost immediately, its body falling to the ground in a heap.
Despite being sprayed with zombie blood, Jannah’s eyes are already shifted to the fourth undead.
She ran forward, her body moving effortlessly as she moved towards the flesh-eating creature, ducking below those filthy and bloodstained hands as she drew back her arm, her muscles tense with the effort of her attack.
Her body moved like a spring, the movement graceful and quick as she swing her sword up, from the between of the zombie’s legs up to its head, slicing the zombie in half in a powerful swing in an instant.
The zombie ceases its movements, its limbs moving with stiff and jerky motions before its sliced two parts fall in opposite directions, landing on the ground with a disgusting sound of squelch.
She barely had time to admire the display of her raw strength before she whisked her to the direction of the sixth undead— her feet carrying her towards it.
The Countess moved with light and quick footsteps, her eyes trained on its approaching form and reached up, raising her arm above her head and with all her might, swung her blade down.
The blade glinted against the sunlight as her weapon sliced through the air, its sharp edge slicing through the zombie’s head in a swift arc. Her arm followed through, the force of the blow crushing the zombie’s skull down to its middle until it went through between its legs.
Jannah lashed out with her sword, the blade slicing through the air with a sharp whistle.
As the sword cut through the air, the droplets of undead blood that clung to the blade were flung away, the dark and gooey liquid spattering across the ground.
At the same time, the zombie she sliced in half fell to the ground, making her let out a huff of pride as she put her sword back to its sheath, turning around to survey her surroundings.
"It has been awhile since I killed zombies with a sword." Jannah murmured, putting the sword back to her inventory with the weapon vanishing from her hand instantly.
Are you done? Can you help me get down now? Jeriel asks through the link, making Jannah perk up and search the top of the tall walls for her little sister.
Yes, just walk closer to the gates so I can create a stairway for you. Jannah responded, her eyes squinting into a glare as she tried her best to pinpoint where Jeriel was, but when she couldn’t see much because of the sun, she looked at the map instead.
Her little sister was already walking and was near the gates so she started walking towards the wall, casting the skill in her mind, letting the rocks take form.
Slowly, the rock took on a new shape as it rose from the ground.
A rocky stairway grew upwards towards the spot of the youngest Rafelon, creating different sizes of wall of rock to create a stair and with the last wall of rock rose, completing the staircase, Jeriel finally descended the skill-made stairs.
Open the gates. I’m done with the wall. Jannah connected the mental link to Princess Huenazia and Duke Eulicies.
"I’m going to have them create the horse stable here." Jeriel said as soon as she reached the ground, stepping beside her big sister and telling her about the blueprint she had for the new training ground.
"That sounds good, we can keep all the horses here so the knights can take turns taking care of them while they are training the town folks." Jannah commented, voicing out her thoughts about the horse stable.
She placed her hand on the rock staircase and deactivated the skill, making the rock walls slowly deformed and rescind itself, retracting back to the ground where it originally came from.
Not a minute passed and the rock stairway was nowhere in sight, the ground where it should have been is now back to its original state, slightly uneven and rough.
Jannah let out a hum, pleased with how effective and efficient the skill, Elemental Wall, is despite the system saying that it was usually uses as a protective barrier, but who knew she could use it to build houses, building, staircase, and can even use it as a transportation to get on top of the wall, right?
"We need to create another space for the farm, too.. Have you heard from the person you hired? Leonardo? He was asking us for a private meeting with you." Jeriel stated, her eyes glued to the paper she was holding.
"Actually, no, I haven’t." Jannah answered, walking towards the gates with her eyes glued on the map.
Not soon after she reached the gates, the wooden blocking the entryway had let out a loud creak as it was pushed open, the hinges protesting against the movement.
The sound rang out in the empty space behind the Rafelon sisters, the sound echoing throughout the area and a familiar white haired noble peeked her head out to greet her with an enthusiastic smile that immediately changed when he saw her state.
"Oh, dear goodness! Your beautiful face!" Count Nige gasped, his eyes wide in shock as he rushed towards her and brought out a handkerchief.
The man was quick to wipe off the black liquid that splattered all over her face as she locked eyes with the two people whom she contacted through the mental link.
"Amazing.. You finished the wall the moment you stepped outside." Princess Huenazia said, breathing out a sigh of awestruck as she looked at the towering rock walls before them that protected them from the flesh-eating creatures outside.
"She did, and she also finished off those monsters." Jeriel pointed at the small pile of sliced zombies lying a few meters away, "Have them burn it and don’t let the kids see it."
"Understood." Duke Eulicies answered, walking towards Jannah and quickly pushing Count Nige away from her. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
"Ack— can’t you see I’m cleaning her face?!" Count Nige hissed, clenching the handkerchief tightly on his hand as he shot a glare towards his friend, "Look! She still has that monster blood on her!"
Jannah could only let out a sigh, "Could you two please get along? And Count Nige, would you be interested in being registered in one of my social bonds? I’m sure Marco or Lucienta have informed you about it?"
Duke Eulicies’s shoulders sagged forward when Jannah showed that she was upset at them for being childish, making Jeriel shake her head.
"Ah, yes! Yes! Yes! I would like to be put on the flower bond. The one where you put my dear friend on?" Count Nige smiled playfully towards Jannah, his hand itching to wipe her face again and clean it.
"Go ahead." Jannah said, indirectly giving him the permission to touch her.
Count Nige brightened up significantly, not wasting the opportunity to do as he was told, carefully rubbing the expensive silk against her skin as she tapped her finger against something in the air.
What was she doing? He doesn’t know, and frankly, he doesn’t care!
As he was dabbing the handkerchief against the splotches of blood on Jannah’s skin, he suddenly felt dizzy and lightheaded, a voice echoing loudly on his head that made him stumble forward.
Jannah had expected this and already held out an arm to catch him, letting him use her shoulder as a leverage for his head, her eyes glued to the system.

Reading the skills the Count got, Jannah started healing him, she pressed her palm against the back of his head and let the red glow that surrounds her hand expand.
"So, out of all of you, only Duke Zacharias has a high level." She murmured, eyebrows furrowed.
She wondered why the Duke was the only one who had surpassed level one when the rest had the lowest level possible.
Did he do something for him to level up?
