The CEO's Wife Is a Medical Master-Chapter 146: I’ll Beat You Senseless
Daisy Archer was too mortified to stay any longer and dragged Wesley Kane away in disgrace. As they were leaving, someone spat at them. This immediately triggered a mass spitting from the crowd. Countless globs of saliva landed on Wesley Kane and Daisy Archer, leaving them in a pathetic state.
A warmth spread through Vera Xavier’s heart as she watched this unfold. ’The people watching the drama today are just high school students. At this age, most of them are fundamentally upright and pure.’
After they left, Master Nathan turned to Principal Gage with a stern expression. "Gage," he said, "for something like this to happen right at your school’s gate, you need to do some serious self-reflection."
Principal Gage looked embarrassed, but he didn’t dare talk back to Master Nathan’s reprimand. He quickly said, "Yes, yes, of course. You’re right to lecture me, Nathan. Today’s incident was my oversight. You must be tired. Why don’t you come to my office for a cup of tea?"
Master Nathan let out a small huff and finally strode onto the campus of First High.
And with that, the incident was over. The crowd at the gate dispersed, leaving only Cara Preston standing there, filthy, soaking wet, and shivering uncontrollably.
Vera Xavier shot Cara Preston a single glance, sneered, then turned and walked into the school without looking back.
Cara Preston couldn’t believe things had ended this way. ’I went this far and still couldn’t take Vera Xavier down! Instead, I’m the one who got dragged through the mud. I’m so mad I could die!’
She looked down at her own state, then at the strange looks she was getting from all sides. "WAAAH!" She burst into loud sobs and ran home.
Rona Langdon had been at home waiting for good news. Seeing her daughter run back in such a state, she jumped in fright and asked, "What on earth happened?"
Cara Preston was in no mood to explain. She bolted straight into the bathroom. She scrubbed herself with a bar of soap several times, but she still felt the stench clinging to her was unbearable. And to top it all off, she couldn’t even move one of her arms!
Her shower was long and agonizing. Only after scrubbing herself with soap five times in a row did she feel the smell had faded just the tiniest bit.
When she finally managed to finish her shower and come out, Rona Langdon was waiting to ask, "So what happened? Did it work?"
"Vera Xavier called Master Nathan! We failed!" Cara Preston said through her tears.
The thought of all the things Daisy Archer had promised her now being gone made Rona Langdon’s heart ache with loss. She backhanded Cara Preston across the face. "You useless thing! Didn’t you say it was foolproof?"
"How was I supposed to know Vera Xavier would ask Master Nathan for help? And that he’d show up the second she asked!" Cara felt deeply wronged.
Rona Langdon began to curse her. "You’re so damn stupid! You can’t even handle one little thing!"
"Mom, Vera Xavier broke my arm," Cara said, her voice full of grievance.
Rona Langdon slapped her again. "Useless thing! Not only did you fail, but now you’re going to cost me money!"
Cara Preston lowered her head, her eyes brimming with hatred. She had truly had enough of this family. She swore an oath in her heart: ’The day I finally make something of myself, I’m going to beat Rona Langdon to a pulp!’
「First High, Principal Gage’s Office.」 He personally brewed Master Nathan a cup of tea using his finest leaves. Master Nathan glared at him and cursed, "You spineless opportunist."
Principal Gage didn’t dare make a sound in the face of the scolding. Instead, he just offered an apologetic smile. He knew he was indeed at fault for what happened today.
