Chapter 513: I’m not a vase

The Asian branch manager was quite familiar with her, so he had him teach Wen Jing first, and then let her come to London once she was settled.

"Nonsense, how could we not be familiar? We’re practically relatives. Fei Mo’s wife is named Wen Nuan, and her sister is named Wen Jing. Don’t tell me you haven’t seen her background information?" Wu Shuang glanced at Kaka. He had to review the information on the core candidates of the first terrorist organization, and no information about Wen Jing, big or small, could escape the intelligence network.

"I’ve been too busy these past few days to check. Tianyu recommended him, so he naturally took care of the background. If there are any problems, it’s Tianyu’s problem, so I don’t need to double-check. I didn’t expect it to be Fei Mo’s sister-in-law...wait, so, can Tianyu call Wen Jing...auntie?"

Wushuang said. "...You can ignore the issue of address."

Kaka laughed, and Wushuang shook her head. She also found it quite funny. "By the way, be careful when you go to the Middle East. It’s very chaotic right now. The North American government has sent a lot of agents and retired soldiers to the Middle East, including many sniper experts and elite special forces. Take a few more people with you."

The government spends a lot of money training them to kill, evade pursuit, shoot, gather information, and collect intelligence. These people cannot be underestimated.

Wushuang was very worried. She

was afraid something would happen to Kaka.

"I’ll be fine," Kaka said firmly, very confident. No matter where the danger was, he would protect his life.

"Nothing is absolute. Last time I went to Devil’s Castle, I thought I would be fine, but what happened?" Wushuang shrugged. "You’d better be prepared. If the anti-terrorism SWAT team gets involved, things won’t be so simple."

Kaka nodded and asked, "Have you been in Rome lately?"

"Yes, taking a break and showing Ghost Face around the mafia’s operations." Wushuang said with a smile, "I just talked to Daddy and Mommy on the phone. They seem to be having a lot of fun and don’t plan to come back yet."

"I also video-called Daddy and Mommy the day before yesterday. Sigh, men are always at a disadvantage. Everyone asks about Chuchu, no one cares about me." Kaka said with great resentment, especially Chu Li, who completely ignored his son and only wanted to find his daughter.

Wushuang thought of her daddy and mommy and burst out laughing, "Xiaobai and you will definitely have something to talk about."

Kaka scoffed, about to say something, when someone knocked on the door. He casually said, "Come in!"

Fang Jiaqi entered the room and brought in several sets of clothes. Kaka frowned slightly, about to say something to Fang Jiaqi, but Fang Jiaqi greeted Wushuang first, also somewhat surprised by her attire, but quickly composed herself and smiled.

Wushuang lowered her brows, then raised them after a moment, "I’m busy now, let’s talk next time."

"Wushuang..." Kaka called out, but Wushuang had already turned off the video call. He turned to look at Fang Jiaqi, "Why are you doing all this?"

His clothes are washed and collected by designated people; Fang Jiaqi doesn’t need to do it at all.

"I was just coming upstairs to find you when I saw Sister Zhang getting her clothes, so I brought them up

too." Fang Jiaqi smiled calmly, placing the clothes on the bed. Kaka hummed in response, "What do you need me for?" "You’re going to the Middle East in a few days, and I’m going with you." Fang Jiaqi said casually, her attitude resolute, as if she were merely informing Kaka and didn’t need his permission.

"Jiaqi, don’t joke around." Kaka wasn’t buying it, his expression calm, but the smile didn’t reach his eyes.

"I’m not joking." Fang Jiaqi looked calmly at Kaka and said firmly, "I want to go to the Middle East with you."

"What are you going there for? It’s chaotic with war, I don’t have time to take care of you." Kaka said coldly, his gaze already shifting to the screen. He shut down his laptop and gave her the order to leave. "I have things to take care of in the study."

Fang Jiaqi didn’t leave the study. She stood in front of Kaka. "I don’t need you to take care of me, Nanfeng. I can protect myself. I don’t need you to take care of me. I’m going to the Middle East."

"No!" Kaka said decisively, his gaze sharp as he looked at Fang Jiaqi. "This is an order!"

Fang Jiaqi frowned. "I don’t accept it!"

Kaka stood up, pointed to the door, his eyes narrowing fiercely, his domineering aura sharp. "If you can’t even accept my orders, the door to the First Terrorist Organization is over there. Walk out yourself."

"Chu Nanfeng!" For the first time, Fang Jiaqi lost her composure. She couldn’t believe that Kaka would speak to her so harshly, to say such harsh words when it was such a simple matter.

Kaka stood with his hands behind his back, his imposing aura undeniable. "You’ve been with the First Terrorist Organization for twenty years. You should know what you should and shouldn’t do. You’re a researcher in the biochemical team. Your mission is viral weapons. Unless someone breaches the First Terrorist Organization’s headquarters, everything else is none of your concern. Just do your job."

Fang Jiaqi’s eyes reddened slightly. "Why is it that every time I want to fight alongside you, you exclude me? You say you worry about me, care about me, but have you ever asked if I want to?"

Kaka’s expression was displeased. Fang Jiaqi suddenly reached out and grabbed Kaka’s arm. "Trust me, I won’t cause you any trouble, and I don’t need special care. I can handle the crises I encounter. I can help you."

Her gaze was earnest, sincere, anxious, and revealed a hint of longing.

She longed for Kaka to fight alongside her, to face all the twists and turns and dangers with him, instead of staying here at headquarters, worrying about his situation, afraid something might happen to him.

Fang Jiaqi was usually a composed person, but this time she was unusually persistent.

Kaka stared at her silently, his gaze sharp and his attitude resolute. No one could persuade him; no matter how pitiful Fang Jiaqi’s eyes were, he remained unmoved, refusing to let her come along.

Fang Jiaqi slowly released Kaka’s arm, tears welling in her eyes. "Nanfeng, I truly hope that when you’re in danger, I can stand by your side."

Heaven knows how much she envied Wushuang.

Wushuang always appeared tacitly by his side when he was in danger, weathering storms and facing life and death with him. She never had that chance, because he never gave her one.

Her sadness and grief didn’t matter to him.

"I’m not a decoration, I’m not a vase. I’m capable of protecting myself. Why won’t you let me come with you? Even if you don’t believe in my abilities, at least consider it before rejecting me. Don’t reject me so decisively. At least let me know that you hesitated, that you considered taking me with you," Fang Jiaqi said tearfully, gazing at him intently. "Give me a chance, please?"
