Chapter 512: caution and meticulousness

The video started, and Kaka’s handsome face appeared on the screen. He was in his bedroom, and a jigsaw puzzle was vaguely visible on the wall. She could only make out a few colors and couldn’t tell what it was; it used to be an oil painting on the wall.

Kaka didn’t seem surprised at all by Wushuang’s appearance. Wushuang laughed and said, "Mo Chen just sent you photos, didn’t he?"

Otherwise, Kaka wouldn’t be so calm and show no reaction.

Kaka smiled and nodded. Wushuang propped her head up and asked with a smile, "Weren’t you scared?"

"Why are you dressed so...uniquely all of a sudden?" Kaka asked instead of answering. His smile gave Wushuang a feeling of warmth and comfort. It was really strange; even though they had talked things out, she didn’t feel embarrassed, resentful, or unwilling. That bittersweet feeling remained unchanged; the only thing that had changed was his attitude.

"It was just a whim," Wushuang said, combing her long hair and twirling it slightly. Her words were ambiguous. "Long Chengtian’s choices of clothes are always so unique. At first glance, I thought they were ugly, but actually, the longer I look at them, the more pleasing they become. I like them more and more."

Kaka looked at her intently, his smile undiminished. "Yes, very beautiful."

Indeed, they looked better the more he looked at them. Kaka understood perfectly what Wushuang meant, and the more he understood, the more serene his smile became. Kaka casually asked about her recent situation, and

Wushuang answered every question, but she didn’t say anything inappropriate. Before, even if they didn’t meet in person, they would have endless topics to discuss when they video chatted online. Even if she teased him through the screen, Wushuang would enjoy it. But now, she truly kept her word, retreating to the boundary of friendship, completely and utterly just friends.

There were no more ambiguous words, no more alluring smiles, no more of the genuine emotions she sometimes revealed. Everything was as he wished.

Only he knew the true feeling behind it all.

These past ten years, he had actually been incredibly happy, yet he had given her nothing but resentment and loneliness, suspicion and uncertainty. He knew he was selfish, so he was now swallowing this desolation and...heartache alone.

These ten years were happiness he had stolen, knowing it was unfair to Wushuang, yet he had been so selfish. Now he was reaping the bitter fruit, and he had no one to complain about.

At least, Wushuang was happy. Someone could bring her a smile, and that was enough. What he had given Wushuang was more bitterness than happiness, while Long Chengtian and Guimian had given her more happiness than bitterness.

"You’re back in your room so early?" Wushuang checked the time and couldn’t help but ask him. Kaka had just taken office and was very busy, rarely going back to his room to rest this early. Most of the time he was busy until dawn, then taking a short nap before continuing to work, especially recently with the frequent conflicts in the Middle East and the First Terrorist Organization’s involvement in the wars in North America and the Middle East, making his affairs even busier.

"Mu Han and Bruno are handling matters in the Middle East. Once the intelligence is gathered, I’ll personally go to the Middle East in a few days," Kaka said, rubbing his temples. "This incident has caused quite a stir; it will probably take some time."

The Mafia had long since withdrawn from the arms market, no longer competing with the First Terrorist Organization for its share. This was the price Mo Ye and Mo Jue paid for Ye Wei and Eleven back then. They, Chu Li, and Jason had a tacit understanding to maintain a balance. The Mafia withdrew from the arms market, but the First Terrorist Organization’s core profit came from arms, while the Mafia’s didn’t. Therefore, Mo Jue and Mo Ye relinquished the then-thriving arms market, returning it entirely to the First Terrorist Organization as a dowry for Ye Wei and Eleven.

Because of this, the First Terrorist Organization quickly regained its position as the world’s leading power and secured it. Without the Mafia as a formidable rival, and with close cooperation between them, both sides had been developing smoothly.

The First Terrorist Organization is now a complex and intricate organization, teeming with hidden talents. Managing such a large group of people is beyond the capabilities of ordinary people, and even one person alone cannot manage it. It’s normal for Kaka to feel exhausted, especially since he’s newly appointed and urgently needs to establish his authority. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

The recent conflict in the Middle East presents a perfect opportunity.

Wushuang heard about the Middle East incident as soon as he returned to Rome. It was supposedly caused by Ye Tianyu. The villagers were massacred, and Ye Tianyu had over a hundred special forces soldiers from a certain country eliminated, forcing them to abandon the oil pipeline dredging project. Federal agents were even tied up and dumped at the FBI’s gate. This incident severely damaged the reputation of North America, the strongest nation in the world. To be so humiliated and so blatantly exposed to the global public eye has shattered their national dignity, naturally leading to their anger towards the First Terrorist Organization and their

determination to kill Ye Tianyu. Over a hundred of North America’s top agents and spies have already entered the Middle East, instigating conflict, targeting the First Terrorist Organization, and secretly assassinating Ye Tianyu. North America possesses top-tier agents, elite special forces, and a meticulously crafted intelligence network and tracking system. Tracking down Ye Tianyu wouldn’t be difficult; the current challenge lies in comparing the sophistication of the First Terrorist Organization’s intelligence network versus that of the North American government.

War rages daily, with deaths occurring in the Middle East and North America, and the number of displaced refugees reaching a million. The North American government, in the name of justice and freedom, has accused the First Terrorist Organization of supplying arms to the Middle East, claiming it caused the conflict.

This is a political conspiracy, clearly understood by Kaka and his

team. Wushuang has suspected more than once that Kaka is behind this, as he desperately needs to establish his prestige within the First Terrorist Organization. Although young, Ye Tianyu has inherited Ye Ningyuan’s skills, acting with impeccable caution and meticulousness. If he decided to eliminate the entire special forces, he wouldn’t leave a single survivor to provide intelligence, preventing any connection to the First Terrorist Organization.

This is most likely a secret plan between Kaka and Ye Tianyu, one in the open, the other in the shadows.

But this was an internal matter of the First Terrorist Organization, and Wushuang didn’t want to get involved. Intimacy was one thing, but official business was another, and she shouldn’t ask too much.

"Are you going to the Middle East alone?" Wushuang asked.

Kaka smiled and leaned back on the cushions. After a moment’s hesitation, he said with a smile, "Bruno just returned and is temporarily in contact with the European side. Mu Han is always stationed at headquarters and shouldn’t leave either. I’ll take Qinglong and Baihu with me."

"I heard that the candidate for Zhuque has been decided. Is it Wen Jing?"

"Your information network is quite good. Who told you? This girl’s job has just been completed. She’s staying in City A for training because of her studies. She’ll transfer to London after graduating from high school, which will make special training more convenient. The school’s acceptance letter is ready, and they’re just waiting for her to come. This is someone Ye Tianyu chose himself. Do you remember her?" Kaka asked with a smile. Wen Jing had only recently become known to the people of the First Terrorist Organization.
