The CEO's Substitute Ex-Wife-Chapter 506: European-style long dress
Wu Shuang had her hair done, dyed a light brown. Her skin was fair and delicate, and this color looked especially good on her. Her hair had been trimmed and then curled; already thick, the large waves made it look even thicker. With straight hair, Wu Shuang looked sharp and sexy; with curly hair, she looked alluringly sexy, a kind of androgynous allure that was particularly charming.
The stylist kept saying how beautiful it looked, and Gui Mian nodded in agreement, saying it was truly unique—straight hair looked good, and curly hair looked good too. Long Chengtian pursed his lips, seemingly reluctant to praise Wu Shuang’s beauty. Wu Shuang even deliberately gave him a flirtatious wink, which provoked Long Chengtian to glare at her.
Gui Mian said, "Let’s change your outfit."
During the time he and Wu Shuang had spent together, she always dressed the same: black and white, accessorized with a silver chain. A white shirt, black trousers, or a sleeveless white shirt and shorts—simple, refreshing, and chic, perfectly matching her personality and style. But now that she had a new hairstyle, perhaps a completely different style would be even better.
Long Chengtian said, "It’s absolutely necessary to change your outfit."
It was hot in Rome today, and Wushuang was wearing a sleeveless T-shirt and black hot pants, revealing her long, slender, and shapely legs, which were incredibly alluring. The hot pants were low-waisted, and the T-shirt was cropped, so when she raised her arm, half of her fair waist and her cute little belly button were exposed. To Long Chengtian, it was quite eye-catching. He had dressed like this before when it was hot in Eastern Europe, and he hadn’t found it offensive. Now, however he looked at it, it was undeniably jarring. So, unusually, he agreed with Guimian’s comment.
Wushuang looked at herself in the large mirror outside the store. She thought it looked great. Her style had always been like this; she favored only two colors, black and white, and generally didn’t wear anything else.
Her father said she looked her best, so it must be.
Guimian said, "Since you’ve changed your hairstyle, why not change everything?"
Wushuang raised an eyebrow and glanced at Guimian. He seemed to have a point. Changing one’s style often reflects a change in mood. Why had she liked this style in the first place? Perhaps...
it was time to change it.
Although Gui Mian hadn’t known her for long, he understood her heart perfectly. Wu Shuang thought, this must be what a true friend is like.
"Do you have good taste?" Wu Shuang asked Gui Mian.
She hadn’t chosen clothes in other styles before, so she relied on him. Gui Mian thought for a moment, "I originally planned to become a fashion designer after retirement."
"Then there’s definitely no problem," Wu Shuang said cheerfully, taking his arm. "Let’s go!"
She had automatically forgotten about Long Chengtian again. Long Chengtian was furious, gritting his teeth as he watched the couple walk by. Wu Shuang thought for a moment, then turned back and hooked her arm around Long Chengtian’s, leading him to the boutique street with her on both sides.
Long Chengtian was satisfied.
His anger was extinguished.
This is a shopping street in Rome, lined with boutiques on both sides. Wushuang first went to a jewelry store and, following the advice of Guimian and Long Chengtian, bought a pair of very large, round platinum earrings. They were huge and very eye-catching. Guimian and Long Chengtian, according to their own aesthetic sense, also bought her some smaller accessories, including a headdress, necklace, and bracelet. Guimian even helped her find a linen belt.
The men swiped their cards themselves. Wushuang raised an eyebrow, thinking that, apart from her father and Kaka, no other men seemed to have ever spent money on her before. Now, two more had appeared. She finally understood why women liked being pursued.
Tsk tsk, when she was pursuing Long Chengtian, how happy he must have been, resisting at the same time.
Long Chengtian and Guimian seemed surprised to find themselves accompanying a woman shopping for jewelry and clothes, even acting as her laborers. Guimian, cold and emotionless, was unreadable to Wushuang. During their few days in the Philippines, he had even bought her sanitary napkins when she was inconvenient, so she felt no embarrassment. Long Chengtian, on the other hand, was clearly annoyed while paying, leaving Wushuang both amused and exasperated.
"Consider it payment for killing someone for you. You can’t even spare this little bit of money?"
"Who’s talking about money? I’ve never done anything like this before!" Long Chengtian roared, grabbing the bag and trying to throw it at Wushuang. He must be out of his mind to go along with Guimian’s madness.
If Guimian hadn’t been there, this scene might not have happened. But because of Guimian, there was a comparison. If Guimian did it, it wouldn’t be right for him not to. Pride, a man’s pride is more important than anything else.
"I’m so touched that she gave it to me for the first time," Wu Shuang said, half-jokingly, as she dragged Gui Mian to choose clothes. Long Chengtian thought for a moment and followed along. If he was going to lose face, he might as well go all the way.
As long as she was happy, that was all that mattered. Did all heartbroken women want a new look and become shopaholics?
The group simply chose a black European-style long dress, paired with long boots and a long necklace from Katia. She looked stunning, completely transforming her style—all thanks to Gui Mian’s styling.
"Beautiful!" Long Chengtian couldn’t help but sincerely praise her; she truly looked gorgeous.
He had never imagined that Wu Shuang could look so captivating dressed like this.
"That’s because the model is good," Wu Shuang accepted the compliments from the two men without any modesty. She was in a great mood. Male admiration and praise were the best way for women to boost their confidence. Although Wu Shuang wasn’t lacking in confidence, being praised by them still made her feel lightheaded.
Guimian and Long Chengtian visited several stores, selecting mature-style clothing for Wushuang—dresses, coats, pants, shoes, and accessories, a complete set from head to toe. On a whim, Long Chengtian had Wushuang try on a floral maxi dress, one of the most popular Italian styles of the season. It was very flashy, featuring large floral patterns in red, blue, green, black, white, and orange—all very vibrant colors that few could pull off.
Wushuang, tall and with a stunning figure, carried the dress off effortlessly, but the style made her wince when she looked in the mirror. While Guimian’s choices weren’t black and white, they at least gave her a striking look.
But the outfit Long Chengtian had chosen alone was so dazzling it almost blinded her.
"Does it look good?" Wushuang asked Guimian, completely distrusting Long Chengtian’s judgment.
"Ghost Face," she exclaimed, "...So unique!"
So, at Long Chengtian’s insistence, Wushuang returned home wearing this distinctive long dress she’d never worn before, paired with floral high heels. Mo Chen nearly fell down the stairs when he saw it, and even the usually composed Mo Yao instinctively pinched the little Persian cat in his arms.
Mo Chen quickly took a picture and sent it to Kaka...
