Chapter 484: Settling the Score

He clenched his fists tightly. Due to extreme restraint and suppression, veins pulsed on his forehead. His entire body was rigid, containing a terrifying rage. This was the first time Wushuang had ever spoken to him like this. For so many years, he had endured certain things, controlled, suppressed, and dared not show them. This time, however, he didn’t want to restrain his temper.

He fiercely slammed the Heart of the Sea into Wushuang’s hand. Kaka said nothing and turned to leave the hospital room. He was afraid that if he stayed, they would truly have a massive fight.

The door slammed shut. Wushuang was startled, looking at the Heart of the Sea in her hand, and then at Kaka’s dramatic exit. Her temper flared up, and she threw the Heart of the Sea at the wall. The gem hit the wall with a thud and rolled onto the floor. The door opened again. Mò Xiǎobái shuffled in, scratching his nose, a rather comical, embarrassed smile hanging on his lips. Wushuang snapped, "Get out! Don’t come here to be my punching bag."

Mò Xiǎobái picked up the Heart of the Sea from the floor, smiled gently, and ambled over. Mò Yáo followed him in. Mò Xiǎobái placed the gem on the table. "You’re upset. When am I not the punching bag?"

He spoke with infinite misery. Whenever his older brother, sister, father, or mother got angry, he and Mò Chén were always the classic punching bags, specifically used to vent their anger. Wushuang especially liked to bully Mò Xiǎobái when she was mad.

Mò Yáo silently sat on the sofa, casually picking up a newspaper. Wushuang looked at Mò Xiǎobái. "You didn’t tell Daddy and Mommy, did you?"

"How could I hide something this big? But, I only said you suffered minor injuries. You know I can mimic your voice to talk to Mommy and get away with it. If Daddy knew, he’d turn the world upside down." Mò Jué’s two most cherished women were his wife and his daughter; everyone else was ignored. If he knew his precious daughter was nearly killed, he’d immediately fly over, kill first, and then discuss the reasoning.

"Good boy. Come here and I’ll give you a reward." Wushuang crooked her little finger. Mò Xiǎobái laughed, leaning over. This time, not afraid of Wushuang scolding him, he gave her a fierce hug. Wushuang cursed, "Bastard! It hurts! Be gentler."

"My bad. I’m too excited." Mò Xiǎobái rubbed his nose again, a habitual gesture. Wushuang looked at him in disgust. "Your wife didn’t cheat death. Why are you so excited?"

"That really wounds my heart, saying that."

"Get away from me. You’re making me hot. Don’t hug me." Wushuang pushed him away. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

"You’re so biased. I’m your cutest and most handsome little brother. You complain about one hug, yet you let Kaka hug you for so long. It’s not fair! I protest!" Mò Xiǎobái waved his fist. This was too much; unequal treatment!

"Get lost! In my territory, I *am* the fairness." Wushuang coldly snorted with dominance. Dare to talk about fairness to her? He was asking for death. She’d hug whoever she wanted.

"Big Brother, look at this..." Mò Xiǎobái turned to seek support. Mò Yáo didn’t even look up, saying faintly, "It has nothing to do with me."

Mò Xiǎobái glared at his older brother. Wushuang burst out laughing. "Look at those dark circles. How many days have you been without sleep?"

"The hardship of a younger brother! My sister was at death’s door. How could I dare sleep? I’ve been with you day and night, afraid you’d die. Where would I find such a beautiful sister then?" Mò Xiǎobái didn’t speak seriously, shoving his face closer. "Sister, give me a reward."

Wushuang raised her hand to slap him. The way he spoke sounded so suggestive. However, her mood had brightened considerably. Xiǎobái was instantly cheering. No matter how upset she was, he could make her laugh. Wushuang felt very lucky.

She had just had a very unpleasant quarrel with Kaka, and her heart was troubled. Now, Xiǎobái filled that void.

He was her joy.

Her joker.

"Sis, why did you make Kaka so angry?" Mò Xiǎobái asked. "Look, it’s the first time he’s slammed the door on you. It doesn’t feel good, does it? I told you, don’t stir up so much trouble right after waking up."

Wushuang gave Mò Xiǎobái a sidelong glance. Mò Xiǎobái would be celebrating if Kaka was being bullied. He was most gleeful when two people were being bullied: Yè Fēi Mò and Kaka. So, Kaka being defeated should make Mò Xiǎobái happy. His mournful tone must be insincere.

Sure enough, Mò Xiǎobái’s expression of sorrow immediately shifted into a witch-like grin. "Seeing Kaka’s serious face is so satisfying! Sister, well done! You’ve got spirit!"

"You shut up!" Wushuang said, smiling.

"I’m serious. You haven’t had a real fight with him in all these years. Doesn’t it feel great to finally argue?"

"I don’t have your twisted sense of humor."

"It’s not about twisted humor. I’m serious. A few days ago..." A flash of viciousness crossed Mò Xiǎobái’s face. Wushuang frowned, asking sensitively, "What happened? Who gave you trouble?"

This was the First Terror Organization, not the Mafia.

Wushuang’s mind was clear about some things; she knew everything.

"No one gave me trouble," Mò Xiǎobái said, glancing at Mò Yáo, who was still looking down at the newspaper. Seeing this, he said, "I just mean that some people’s words made me very uncomfortable. Sis, he’s not worth it."

A cold smile surfaced on Wushuang’s lips. She instantly understood what had happened.

*Is that so?*

"Does he know?" Wushuang asked soberly.

"No," Mò Xiǎobái said, speaking earnestly. "Whether he knows or not, it’s not worth it. Just like you said, the trouble you cause is the Mafia’s business. It’s none of Kaka’s concern."

*It’s natural and reasonable for our family to clean up your mess. We do it willingly, without complaint. But others?*

*No need!*

Wushuang looked past Mò Xiǎobái to Mò Yáo. "Big Brother, did you brainwash him? Why do I feel like he’s become profound today?"

Mò Yáo said indifferently, "He’s faking it."

Mò Xiǎobái was exasperated and picked up the Heart of the Sea to throw at Mò Yáo. Wushuang quickly stopped him. "Put that down! If you break it, I’ll fight you to the death."

"You threw it just now!" Mò Xiǎobái protested.

"Am I the same as you? I risked my life to get it. I can throw it if I want to, and if it breaks, that’s my choice. If you break it, I’ll skin you alive." Wushuang smiled dominantly, her charm laced with a cold threat.

Mò Xiǎobái reluctantly put down the Heart of the Sea.

*Fussy.*

Wushuang tilted her head to look at the Heart of the Sea. Thinking of Kaka’s actions just now, she suddenly found the gem a bit of an eyesore. Mò Xiǎobái seemed to read her mind and chuckled. "This gem is quite pretty."

Wushuang was silent. Yes, it was very beautiful, a gem worth collecting.

Mò Yáo put down the newspaper and asked Wushuang, "Do you want to continue recovering here at the First Terror Organization, or go back to Rome?"
