Precap

"I mean...you and Kian are not in the best situation to have a baby right now."

"Why?? I love him. He is my husband and we are married and if he wants the child...what is so wrong about having it now??"

Tinsley intervened. Madison shook her head in disapproval. She did not want to sound mean at all. She never should gave opened her mouth against it. She thought.

"Don't you understand, Tinsley???

Babies are costly. Do you think you and Kian are at your best financial right now?? He has no job...he is living with his savings which will end anytime and both of you are unemployed. What are you going to do once the baby is born??"

It was what Madison said, made Tinsley look at the situation completely in a different light.

She had never thought about all that. It was true indeed. They had nothing. How could they behave like a fool and even think about bringing a child into this world at the moment?

"Look... I know how I sound so rude and mean. And you both will love this baby but it's not enough...love is not enough to raise a child, Tinsley."

Madison softened her voice to make her understand the complexity of their decision.

"Kian...I do not even know why he is so eager to have a child right now because he hates kids...I know that...we both share the same taste so I know it. "

The entire day after the talk with Madison, Tinsley could not think or do anything straight.

Before all these, she was so excited about when she would get pregnant but now she was afraid...scared that she might be already.

And if she was, everything would be over and change altogether. What if Kian would blame her and their child for it??

She would not be able to bear that kind of pain. Her mind was full of thoughts and she could not do anything about it.

Once, the daylight transformed tonight, Madison offered to drop her again just like the previous day.

She did not mention about the pregnancy again and both of them drove in silence.

Madison spoke about how she was feeling giddy with the incoming date and that it would be her first time going out on a date with a man.

All the talks went right over Tinsley's head as she continued to look outside the window, her thoughts driving inside her mind just like the cars outside on the road.

When they reached her home, she mumbled a small thank you to Madison before getting out of the car.

"Tinsley?"

She turned back to face Madison, poking her head out of the window.

"Do not stress, everything will be fine."

She assured her, Tinsley nodded hesitantly and headed inside the building.

With uneasy steps, she climbed the stairs and opened the door to see something she had not expected to come at home in.

The living room was transformed into a paradise. Rose petals showered on the floor, dim candle lights glowing in the darkness.

A table with food was set in the middle. Heart-shaped balloons laying on the floor, some flying in the air.

Tinsley was awestruck as she stood, rooted on the threshold of the room. She could not process everything that she saw in front of her.

And suddenly from the other side, Kian dashed inside, holding a plate of freshly baked cake and placed it on the table.

He did not even notice that she was home. And when he did turn to look in the door's way, he gasped as if not expecting her at that moment but then a smile appeared on his handsome face.

It was all she needed to ease her mind. Staring at him, being so carefree and with a sweet smile that she very rarely gets to see on him, she could not help the smile that stresses her lips either.

"Surprise!!"

He said, walking towards her, pecked her lips in for a chaste kiss and lead her inside, holding her hand in his warm ones.

"What's all this for?"

Tinsley asked, looking around when they reached the table. Kian made her sit on the sofa and joined her right away.

"Before everything, I just realized I never took you out for a date."

Kian said, watching his wife's beautiful face glowing in the light of the burning candles everywhere.

"I have never been on a date either."

Tinsley mumbled to herself. It was something she saw in movies, read in books, heard the women talking about their lover arranging something romantic for them but never in her wildest dream, she thought she would live the day to be in one.

Her honest reply made Kian's heart squeeze in a bad feeling. He cursed himself for not doing that before...taking her out when he had the money, to cherish her in a warm island he owned, across the country.

"Then I m the luckiest man to have the honour of being your first date."

Kian remarked, pulling her out of her thoughts. Tinsley adoringly eyed his grey pairs of eyes, staring back at her with the same fondness.

She could not help herself from leaning forward and kissing him with her love deep embedded in her beating heart.

Kian closed his eyes, cherishing the moment. He did not need any proof anymore to verify her love for him...if it were real or just an infatuation as Nathan had claimed.

The kiss told everything...the way she pulled his lips in her mouth, it was her message to him that she had accepted him with all his flaws and mistakes.

Not every person could accept you that way if they did not love you with every living core of their existence.

He smiled in the kiss and deepened it, cupping her face in between his big hands.

It was as if he had found new energy to make this woman, near him, feel like the only woman in the whole wide world...the most special and beautiful.

"As much as I like the taste of your lips...I want you to eat all these before I get to eat you, baby."

He let out, pulling away from the kiss making Tinsley's cheeks bright red from what he just declared.

She thrashed his body away from hers, playfully. He did not let go of her hand, resting on his lap.

"This...this is just so beautiful. "

She whispered, looking around. For her, it felt like living in a movie scene. A scene rolling with the cameras intact, her the heroine and him the hero.

"I m glad that you like it...I worked really hard for it."

"I love it!"

She said, raising her eyebrows, appreciating every bit of thing, the decoration, the food he had cooked for her.

"I had a hard time arranging it...I have never prepared a date myself."

Kian started, a little bit shy for admitting his immature moves if there were any while doing it all by himself.

"Following the internet was not my first choice...but with the limited budget, this is what I can offer, Tinsley...not a candlelight dinner in a five-star restaurant. "

He confessed, being honest and true about how he felt for the very first time in his life to a woman.

Tinsley moved to look back at him. He was looking down on the floor as if ashamed of not being able to offer her more.

"Your love is what I have always wanted, Kian...not some fancy candlelight dinner in a fancy hotel. "

She replied, extending her right hand to caress him, lovingly. Although she did not like that he spent money to arrange all these when they were in such a tight situation.

"Even though you need not have to go through this when we are in a situation like this...right now."

She let out and Kian groaned in disapproval. He did not mind spending it...when it was being spent on her.

"You do not have to worry about finance, baby...I did tell you this is just temporary right??"

Kian asked her, expecting a yes from her. He did not want to lose her for poverty. 𝙛𝑟𝘦ℯ𝘄e𝙗nov𝙚𝑙. 𝐜𝑜𝗺

As much as he disliked the idea of liking someone to the point of fearing they might leave you after the death of his mother, he had grown to like this woman beyond his capacity to deny it further or ignorance.

"I do not mind if this is permanent either...the point is Kian, I will be happy wherever you are even when it's on the street or ice...anywhere...I only need you and want you by my side."

She confided in him, thinking he would stop being so insecure about the fact that she might leave him one day due to his financial situation.

"And I do crave the same about you."

Kian muttered.
