The Celestial Phoenix Has Too Much Lust-Chapter 38: Early Stage Golden Core Realm
"What the hell is this?!"
Morse’s jaw dropped. His eyes couldn’t believe what he was seeing. He stood frozen like a statue, staring at the ruins of the Xuan Clan’s property. Everyone around him was in a panic, whispering rumors about what had just happened.
They claimed the Clan had been under attack... He couldn’t understand why he, of all people, had such rotten luck that this would happen right after he was appointed Patriarch. There weren’t even guards at the gate.
"Let’s secure the gate first..."
Morse pulled out two mid-Foundation Establishment level robots and stationed them at the gate. Everyone was terrified of these mechanical oddities, so anyone thinking of looting the place immediately backed away. He deployed his other robots as well, setting them on guard duty.
He needed to find out immediately what happened and if Ni Ni Layan had anything to do with it.
"Hey... do you guys know what happened here?"
Morse approached two workers standing near the walls. The two men looked at each other, then back at Morse, then at each other again.
"It was a giant monster... a huge flying beast... it had a goat’s arm, big horns, and it controlled water! I saw it!"
The man next to him looked at him as if he were listening to a lunatic and cut him off.
"You’re such an idiot... none of that happened." He raised his hands as if he were about to utter the wisdom that would change the course of history.
"It’s simple... evil spirits. Look at this family. They’re a bunch of corrupt people. I saw the ghosts of the people they’ve oppressed floating in the sky, demanding revenge on those who killed them."
Morse felt a pain in his stomach, as if his gut were protesting the sheer stupidity of the conversation. But had that actually happened? In truth, he suspected Ni Ni Layan had caused all this chaos. Without a doubt, a Phoenix, by its very nature, would not tolerate being insulted.
If she felt even slightly belittled, she would kill anyone who dared to do so.
He had managed to locate her via the System. Once he knew that, he knew trouble wouldn’t be simple. He just hoped no one was there... Why the hell did she go to the family estate?
"Didn’t I tell you it was a giant monster? You just need your eyes checked."
"Are you questioning the existence of evil spirits? Your grandmother’s house is full of them and you don’t even see it! Only the enlightened can see them."
The man next to him gasped at these words. "Really? That’s incredible... I had no idea."
The man with the ’evil spirit’ theory inhaled sharply. "There’s no other way, I will help you... but naturally, I need money. Otherwise, I’d just be wasting my time."
Morse tried to intervene in the middle of this obvious scam. "Excuse me... are you guys from Jian Province?"
The "Evil Spirit" theorist snapped his fingers as if summoning memories of a glorious era long past. "I came from the Immortal Haiyun Mountains...
I was once a brave Sword Immortal, surrounded by beautiful fairies. But my sect betrayed me, leaving me crippled. Now, I live by these humble trades. Yet, my power to repel spirits remains. If you’re afraid of a male ghost peeping at your wife, bring me in, and I shall honor you with my service."
"That’s just stupid," the other worker muttered. "The story about the hunter whose daughters were kidnapped by a demonic sect was better."
"You think so?" The other nodded firmly.
Morse sighed, struggling to maintain his composure and keep his temper in check. "Guys... how about we work together?"
The two men looked at him. "How?"
"I will give you five gold coins if you spread as many misleading rumors as possible. Agreed? But they must serve the interests of this clan."
The two men beamed at Morse. "Really? Sir, you are far too generous! Don’t worry... this clan basically saved the world just a few minutes ago." 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
Morse smiled thinly as he pulled out some of the money he’d made from the printing press yesterday. He took out five pieces, added two extra, and handed them over with a grin. "Guys, these extra pieces are for you. I just want you to focus on one specific detail."
The two became even more grateful. "Anything!" they said in unison.
"Very well... listen to this. I want you to tell everyone—alongside the other rumors—that what happened here was essentially... a Harem Conflict."
The two gasped, leaning in for their instructions.
"One of the concubines—without naming names—tried to assassinate another member of the harem while the Patriarch was away. This sparked an internal war that engulfed the entire clan."
The two agreed and set off to work immediately, while Morse Xuan entered the clan grounds, flanked by his robots, without a single soul daring to obstruct him. He felt that if he were spotted now, he wouldn’t exactly receive a warm welcome, especially since no one—aside from the Elders—knew he was the Patriarch.
As he stepped inside, a wave of anxiety washed over him. He decided to upgrade his cultivation level immediately, preparing for any possible confrontation. He checked his points and looked at the price for the Early Stage of the Golden Core Realm.
[Early Stage Golden Core Realm: 10,000 Points]
Morse didn’t hesitate; he hit ’Purchase’ instantly, knowing his balance would be officially dead afterward. But it was a risk worth taking. Since his level would match Ni Ni Layan’s, he figured he’d finally have a bit of leverage and wouldn’t be bullied by her anytime soon.
The moment he clicked buy, he felt his Qi boiling in his veins like a jet engine. Explosions rocked his meridians and his Dantian. He felt the instant ecstasy of ascension. A surge of raw power filled him as he stepped forward, his smile heavy with newfound arrogance.
Now, no one here could deny him.
As he strolled through the grounds with total indifference, a guard spotted him. "Hey, you! You runaway bastard! How dare you set foot inside the clan gates? You’re lucky I’m busy today. Get out before I find the time to deal with you!"
Morse smiled. He turned his head, his hair fluttering as he brushed it away from his face. "In a good mood, are we? How sweet... Death Penalty."
As Patriarch, it was his duty to execute the incompetent.
With instantaneous speed that the Early Foundation Establishment guard couldn’t even track, Morse ripped the man’s heart out. It continued to pulse rhythmically in Morse’s blood-stained hand. The guard watched his own heart beat for one final, agonizing moment before death took him.
The remaining warriors stood paralyzed, recoiling in pure shock. They couldn’t believe their eyes. Morse Xuan, the "cripple," was now at the Golden Core level! In the midst of the clan’s chaos, he had clearly come for his revenge. To them, he looked utterly despicable.
The clan was already reeling from one disaster, and now a second threat had appeared in a single day. This was a nightmare.
"And where do you think you’re going...?"
Morse unleashed his aura.
The lower-level warriors collapsed instantly under the crushing pressure, their faces slammed against the dirt. They watched his feet pass them by as he headed toward the main palace, the harem quarters. They were certain of it—he was going to kill Concubine Xian right now.
The only explanation they could find was that he must have sold his soul for this kind of power.
"System... are you saying Ni Ni Layan is inside the palace?"
[Yes. The Supreme Yin System’s resonance is detected within this building.]
Morse felt a sharp pang of concern. He hadn’t expected that woman to head straight for this cursed place the moment she broke in. He had to enter this wretched estate. As Morse approached the palace, everyone he encountered was weaker than him. Even the core disciples—those who weren’t already occupied—posed no threat.
When the guards saw Morse approaching the main gates, leaving a trail of suppressed warriors in his wake, the two at the entrance—both at the Early Spirit Realm—trembled. They felt the crushing weight of a Golden Core aura and instinctively raised their weapons.
Morse saw this. Soldiers raising their blades against their own Patriarch.
"Charge confirmed: attempted rebellion and coup. The penalty... Death."
With a casual flick of his hand, he manifested a blade of pure spiritual energy, decapitating both of them in an instant. He felt a surge of pure ecstasy. He realized now how foolish he had been, hoarding his points for gadgets instead of investing in his own cultivation.
As Morse pushed the doors open, the trembling warriors outside scrambled to send telepathic spiritual messages to the Elders. "Intruder! There is an intruder...!"
Morse ascended the stairs. The girls inside the palace watched him, shivering in fear as he walked through the halls with a face devoid of emotion. Following the System’s guidance, he finally reached his destination.
"The Medical Ward, then..."
The medical facilities in the Patriarch’s residence were the finest in the entire clan.
He finally sensed her aura—a feeling that, strangely enough, brought a sense of relief to his heart. As he opened the door quietly, he looked to the right. He saw a woman adorned in red silk, jewels covering her body, and an elegant hair tie.
She sat by a bedside, her hands pressed against her face.
It was Concubine Xian, sitting beside Bing, who was still unconscious. When the door opened, she looked up at the intruder. She couldn’t believe it... Morse Xuan was standing before her, radiating an aura of absolute majesty and power. She couldn’t fathom how...
How had he managed to reach this place?
She pulled out a spiritual transmission device, about to call for help. In an instant, Morse unleashed his energy, incinerating the device and reducing it to ash. The Concubine was on the verge of screaming.
But faster than a heartbeat, Morse was upon her. He stood directly in front of her, clamping his hand over her mouth as tears began to stream down her face.
"Shhh... You’ll wake her."
Morse gestured toward the bed on the other side of Bing’s. There lay Ni Ni Layan, fast asleep and utterly exhausted.
"You live to see another day... Consider yourself lucky. Don’t worry."
Morse released her and stepped away. She was left there, gasping for breath in a state of pure terror.
