The Cannon-Fodder Villainess Faked Her Death, Her Five Beast Mates Go Wild-Chapter 168: Turmoil on Dragon Island
"Wait here."
Chopping off half of the magnetic nail, Rah stuffed it into Wen Shu’s arms, issued an order, and then vanished into thin air.
The cell fell into silence. Wen Shu squeezed the sharp hook in her palm, hiding the residual melancholy in her heart, turned and left, and headed toward Luo Fei’s cell.
The ground was filled with sticky pools of blood.
Just as Wen Shu broke the hook penetrating Luo Fei’s shoulder, his unconscious body quickly shrank into a cub shape.
Time was pressing. She picked up the Little Winged Dragon, a flicker of white light glinting in her palm, while searching for an escape route.
Strangely, the noisy footsteps above the dungeon suddenly moved in the opposite direction.
Only a few scattered figures gradually appeared outside the cell.
"Female, it’s dangerous outside now. Come with us, don’t make a futile struggle!"
The leading male took two steps forward, attempting to grab them.
But Wen Shu frowned, avoided his hand, her silhouette flickering, breaking through the encirclement formed by the males, and rushed out of the cell.
The males’ roaring and fighting sounds surged into her ears upon leaving the dungeon.
The castle, usually filled with patrols, was now deserted.
Wen Shu’s footsteps were swift, seeing through the fluttering red gauze, she identified two warring parties, pausing for a few seconds.
The neatly ordered steps were piled with dismembered remnants. The gleaming pebbles were stained a shocking red.
At the center of the brawl, Sai Yin, scales covering his chin and the tip of his fishtail shining coldly, was facing off against the elusive Romande.
In her moment of stunned pause, a voice called urgently into her ears, "Ashu!"
Wen Shu turned her head and indeed saw a graceful and agile Black Panther, biting off the Dragon Beast’s neck, transforming into human form and rushing towards her.
"Wu Xuan..."
Looking at his handsome face, she disregarded everything, striding her long legs, directly throwing herself into his broad embrace.
The familiar masculine scent filled her nostrils; Wen Shu hugged Wu Xuan’s waist tightly, feeling a trace of warm comfort.
Having finally found the female, a flicker of regained joy passed through Wu Xuan’s heart, yet he felt increasingly heavy with self-blame.
His golden eyes dimmed. He glanced at the Winged Dragon in Wen Shu’s arms, restraining his strength, held her shoulders, and said solemnly, "Ashu, we need to leave now."
"Alright."
Wu Xuan picked up Wen Shu, heading towards the hidden coast.
But before he could walk far, deafening roars came from below the long steps.
Shrill cries of pain echoed, sending chills down the spine.
Wen Shu felt her teeth on edge, a dense coldness crawling up her spine.
Looking up downward, she directly met a pair of purple eyes full of crimson aura.
Sai Yin’s cold white face was splattered with blood; his slender fingers just slightly pressed down.
The surrounding low-level males seemed crushed by an invisible giant hand, spewing blood, their bodies twisted into the stone steps.
"Xiao Wen."
Perhaps fearing to frighten Wen Shu, Sai Yin’s lips formed a gentle smile silently,
Wen Shu’s heart skipped a beat, looking at his reddened eyes, recalling the images in the Divine Tree Leaves, felt something was off.
While pondering, Sai Yin’s fingers curled, halting Wu Xuan’s stride.
A feeling of an invisible force pulling at her waist, Wen Shu felt uneasy, hugged Wu Xuan’s arm tightly, "I have matters to handle, I can’t return to the sea domain."
Noticing her wary expression, the red light in Sai Yin’s eyes dispersed, revealing a trace of cruel coldness.
"Don’t worry, I’ve handled it. No one can force you anymore."
His broad figure slowly ascended the long steps, and Wen Shu caught his gaze, feeling inexplicably frightened.
What has he done?
Facing the unknown strong male, every cell in her body shouted to stay away.
Her gaze swept over the magnetic hook in her palm, secretly clenched her fist, staring unbrokenly at Sai Yin’s movements.
Just as she was about to launch an attack, a rough big hand suddenly gripped her shoulder.
"Why the rush, wasn’t I letting you wait?"
The male’s cold and deep questioning voice slowly resonated overhead.
Wen Shu felt dizzy the moment she looked up.
The twisted scene in front of her lasted longer than ever before.
When the scene finally froze,
Her stomach churned, she shoved the Little Winged Dragon into Wu Xuan’s arms, supported the wall, and vomited uncontrollably.
Seeing clearly the Winged Dragon in his arm, Wu Xuan’s eye twitched, disdainfully tossed it to the wall root.
Nervously following Wen Shu, he patted her back, "Ashu, are you alright?"
His movements were gentle; Wen Shu’s discomfort persisted even after vomiting, pains not only in her stomach, but also a continuous ache in her lower abdomen.
Her face paled, she hastily activated her superpower.
Misty white light enveloped her body, dispelling fatigue, and the remaining radiance concentrated on her abdomen.
Noticing this, Wu Xuan’s hand supporting her tensed momentarily, his pupils slightly trembled, "Ashu, what’s wrong?"
As the pain gradually eased, Wen Shu gripped his arm, pursing her lips with complex emotions, "It’s the cub, that night with you all..."
Receiving confirmation, Wu Xuan breathed rapidly for two seconds, supporting Wen Shu, his large hand gently resting on her abdomen.
But when his gaze touched her pale face, he suddenly recalled something, his excited expression swiftly turning into worry.
"Is it uncomfortable? When my mother was pregnant with my sister, I learned how to alleviate it."
His voice was not loud; due to worry, it was so gentle that a breeze could make it disappear.
But the males had sharp hearing.
Rah, standing aside, instantly darkened his face, glanced coldly at Wu Xuan, holding Wen Shu’s hand, "This is within Yisha Empire. You can stay here for now. There are plenty of Crystal Coins in the underground warehouse..."
The soft hand in his palm lightly twitched.
He gripped tighter, seeing her face still pale, his tensed jaw relaxed a bit, speaking sternly, "I will be back soon."
Saying this, he turned to leave, his strong back exuding a surge of killing intent, as if going for revenge.
Seeing his aggressiveness, a thought flashed through Wen Shu’s mind, grabbing his wrist, "What are you going to do?"
The warmth against his wrist eased Rah’s furrowed brow.
He paused his step for a few seconds, turned to look at Wen Shu.
Meeting her subtly worried eyes, his body felt as if immersed in a hot bath, experiencing an unprecedented peace.
"Wen Shu," he lowered his eyes, his cold lips forming a gentle arc, "With me here, no one can force you to do what you don’t want to do."
The exceptionally gentle tone left Wen Shu momentarily stunned.
And seeing her dazed expression, Rah tightly pressed his lips.
Feeling a trace of shame after revealing his emotions, without speaking, he turned and disappeared from the spot.
The view abruptly widened; Wen Shu realized their location and snapped out of surprise.
They were in the backyard of a castle.
Due to being uninhabited for long, the yard was overgrown with weeds, brightly red flowers had grown vines, covering the wall and blocking sunlight from the round window near the backyard.
"Ashu, let me take you to rest."
Wu Xuan scanned the surroundings, picked up Luo Fei with one hand, embraced Wen Shu, and entered the castle.
