Chapter 87: 87: Hell’s Sword Daemon

It took Simon approximately thirty minutes to wake up, and while he was asleep, he saw visions.

He saw visions of himself standing in a realm of black fire. A realm where the land burned black for eternity.

He stood on this land, but the flames couldn’t hurt him.

Then he saw a man wearing the mask he saw in the spatial ring along with the sword that was in the spatial ring.

The man suddenly waved his right hand, and a spinal cord that was thrice his size appeared in front of him.

The moment the black flames touched the spinal cord, the spinal cord melted and transformed.

It became the black wraps that burned him.

"With the spine and blood of ██████ ███████... I’ll create a back door into the chaos plane which the ██████ have closed from us."

"They think they have won, but it is just the beginning of the end."

"Only one with the blood of a Daemon can show the true form of the Chaos Wraps and can truly wield the Chaos Blade to slay them."

"He or she must not fail us."

The world cracked, and the last thing Simon saw was the chaos wraps wrapping itself around the chaos blade.

As the world of black flame was falling apart, the masked demon stared in his direction.

"I am Hell’s Sword Daemon. Carry the weight of the fate of the realm, and beware of the sight of ██████ ███████... Do not let them know you have the flames of chaos or even death would pity your end."

Simon narrowed his eyes, then just as the world was about to completely shatter and disappear.

Simon smiled. "I refuse to carry the weight of the fate of any damned realm. Don’t force upon me a fate which I know nothing of."

There was no reaction from Hell’s Sword Daemon since it was just a vision, then the world of black flames completely shattered into pieces.

Simon’s eyes fluttered open in reality, and he groaned as he got up.

He held his head with a groan, and when his head felt a little bit better, he looked around before shifting his gaze to his arms.

He was not surprised when he saw the Chaos Wraps around his arms. They reached up to his forearms, and unlike before where if he tried to rip off the Chaos Wraps from his arms, his flesh would have been torn along with it.

Now, he could not even remove them at all.

He was not even certain if cutting off his arms would truly rid him of the Chaos Wraps.

"It seems it’s only if I die I’d be free of this thing."

Although he didn’t like the fact that the Chaos Wraps had been forced upon him, he could feel certain changes in his forearms.

"My physical strength has not increased, but... it feels more like the constitution of my arms has changed in a way I can’t easily grasp."

"I guess I’ll find out more with time."

He then looked at his heart with a slight frown. "And then there’s my demon heart... No... My chaos flame."

"Before the second trial, I was just a Minor Lesser Demon, but in less than twenty four hours, I’m now a Superior Lesser Demon with a 70% refined chaos flame. A little bit more and I’ll become a Supreme Lesser Demon, then a Fiend."

"But then there’s my chaos flame. It has changed."

He frowned slightly as he tried to understand what he was seeing.

"My chaos flame is no longer pale silver with a faint orange hue. It is now dark silver."

"My space affinity is still there and it seems to have increased a little. My fire affinity seems to have increased too, but just by a little, which is surprising since this black flame is definitely unique and I expected it to improve fire affinity by a lot."

"And I believe there’s an even more important change to my chaos flame. But I’ll need time to inspect it better."

With a thought, Simon caused the Chaos Wraps to ignite.

Black flames roared to life around his arm, and unlike before where the flames hurt him, he felt nothing as the flames appeared around his arm.

"I wonder how powerful these flames are."

Simon moved his arm around, then his expression changed and he quickly put off the chaos flames.

He held his head which had veins protruding out of it.

"I see... It uses my soul energy as fuel, and the main reason I can even summon the chaos flames for this long is because my soul is stronger than normal."

"I can only use the flames for a minute before my soul energy runs out and I become unconscious... If only I had the full power of my soul of my past life, then I can use the chaos flame for a longer period of time."

Simon sighed while rubbing his brows, then he took one last look at his arms which were permanently covered in black wraps.

"My chaos flame has been refined to 70% and I’m now a Superior Lesser Demon. My chaos flame has also experienced some changes."

"The constitution of my arms are... unique now. My spatial affinity and fire affinity seems to have increased too."

"I have gotten a strange black flame called the Chaos Flame or the Flames of Chaos, which is actually strange since every demon has a Chaos Flame in their heart."

"And according to that damned Sword Demon... No... Sword Daemon?... who is imposing on me a fate I have no wish to bear, he said I should be wary of something seeing the flames, so I’ll just have to be careful."

Simon chose not to think too much about the words of the unknown Sword Daemon because he had absolutely no idea what he was talking about in the vision.

He had no idea who owned the spine the Sword Daemon used to create the Chaos Wraps since his words were distorted in his ears.

He also had no idea what the Chaos Plane was.

He had no idea what a Daemon was.

He had no idea what these chaos flames truly were.

And he had no idea what the fate of the realm or what the realm was.

Since he had very little information, he decided not to stress himself thinking about the words of Hell’s Sword Daemon.
