The Broken Halo-Chapter 224: Kicked Out Of Class
The entire class was silent when they saw that Simon was the first person to raise his hand.
Many of them had already decided in their minds that they were not going to raise their hands since the chances that they’d embarrass themselves was very high.
They had never walked on walls before, since just like Instructor Sormon said, many people thought it was not necessary.
Why learn how to walk on walls when you’d eventually learn how to fly?
Why learn how to walk on walls when you could jump by a great height and distance the stronger one gets?
Volunteering to be the first to make an attempt to walk on the cliff wall was just asking to be made an example of.
But Simon was willing to be made an example of?
Simon who they knew as cold, prideful, and vicious?
Of course they were willing to see such a scene!
"Alright. Come and give it a try." Instructor Sormon said with a glint in his eyes.
If he had asked for somebody to come up so that he could teach the person and use them as an example to the others.
This was what he planned on doing initially, but for Simon, he was going to allow Simon to embarrass himself.
Once Simon fell, he’d encourage him and tell him to try again, that he could do it.
This was the training he believed Simon would fail and would not be able to succeed without his help and teachings.
’You humiliated me, now I shall humiliate you before your entire class, slave.’
If Simon knew the thoughts of Instructor Sormon, he would have laughed in amusement.
When it came to energy control, he was extremely talented in it.
On Earth, he was the best at controlling Aether. None on Earth could compete with him.
The number of Demi-Gods that were on par with him when it came to energy control could be counted on one hand, and those Demi-Gods had thousands of years of experience.
They were the monsters amongst the Demi-Gods.
Even the Gods back then said that his control over aether was on the level of some Gods.
Among mortals, if Simon said he was number two when it came to controlling Aether or Demonic Energy, no other mortal would be number one.
That was his main talent... Energy Control.
He had never practiced how to walk on walls in his past life, but it was easy for him.
Walking on water was even more difficult. How could it be compared to walking on a stable wall or running on the spine of a wyvern?
Step
Simon placed his right foot on the wall, then a dark emerald-orange light glowed across his foot.
’I guess I shouldn’t make this so easy. That might be too much.’
Simon’s eyes flashed with a cunning light, then the stable dark emerald-orange light began to fluctuate.
At first, it was dense, then it would be faint, then it began to flicker in and out of existence.
Some of his classmates snickered and chuckled while giving him gazes of disdain and mockery.
Even Instructor Sormon’s lips could not help but curl up slightly when he saw this.
He decided to encourage Simon and give him a little nudge, afraid that Simon would choose to back out in fear.
"You can do it, Broken Halo. Just take it easy and take your time. When you feel like your foot has been glued to the wall, you quickly take-"
"I think I’ve gotten it, Instructor."
Simon cut off Instructor Sormon, and he was baffled.
"What?"
Simon did not respond. He calmly placed his other foot on the wall, and to the shock and disbelief of everybody, Simon stayed on the wall in a horizontal position.
His back was mere inches from touching the ground, but he did it.
He was standing on the wall, and his sky blue slit eyes gazed into the shaken dark brown reptilian eyes of the Instructor.
Step
Before his classmates or Instructor Sormon could comprehend what they were seeing, Simon took a step forward.
Step
Then he took another step.
Step
Then he took another step.
Eventually, he started walking, almost like he was walking on a flat, horizontal land.
He took the same number of steps Instructor Sormon took to the right and to the left, then he stopped and faced the Instructor.
"I believe I’ve gotten the hang of it, Instructor Sormon. It’s actually... not that difficult."
Silence
There was pin drop silence, and the only thing one could hear was the sound of the wind.
Instructor Sormon had a blank expression as he stared at Simon, then a tinge of darkness flashed in his eyes.
His fingers moved erratically, almost like they wanted to kill something. Veins slowly appeared on his neck, and the soft sound of a heartbeat reverberated in the air.
The cliff wall shook slightly.
Simon tilted his head with a smile behind his mask despite the killing intent that was directed at him.
His eyes showed not a single iota of fear, but his body was primed and ready to react to any attack.
Even though it was 100% going to fail against a Greater Demon.
If Instructor Sormon really attacked him with the intent to kill, a swipe of his hand at the air was enough to kill him.
However, he stood his ground despite the trembling of the cliff wall.
Fearless was active.
The Initiates below had anxious and tense expressions. Though, the aura of Instructor Sormon was not targeted at them at all, the trembling of the cliff wall and the twisting of the space between both Simon and Instructor Sormon made them to hold their breaths.
Approximately ten seconds later, Instructor Sormon exhaled deeply and looked at Simon coldly.
He recalled his killing intent and aura, causing everywhere to become peaceful once again.
"Leave my class. Since you’ve learned how to walk on walls and you successfully reached the end of the fifth section, there’s nothing more to teach you."
Simon smiled behind his mask.
This was what he wanted.
"As you wish, Instructor Sormon."
With a thought, his demonic energy around his feet vanished and he fell from a height of twenty feet.
He nimbly landed on the ground like a cat, not making a sound, then he walked out of the class with a completely indifferent expression.
