The Broken Halo-Chapter 107: Last Thing
Bang!
Slash!
Boom!
"Hey, third brother. Can I tell you something?"
"I told you not to call me that."
Bang!
Bam!
"You never told me your name- ack! Damn it.’
"Instead of talking, why don’t you focus on the battle and enemies."
Boom!
Crack!
Snap!
Bang!
"Because I’m stronger than you, brother."
"Don’t call me that. Don’t call me brother or third brother. I am not your brother."
Bam!
Keugh!
Crack!
Puchi!
"Then what do I call you?!"
"Just focus on the damn battle."
"Alright, third brother!" 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Slap!
Bam!
Bang!
"Fuck! I just remembered what I wanted to tell you. I wanted to tell you that I fucking regret joining you in this battle! Ever since I met you, I’ve not had an easy battle! And it has just been two battles!"
Boom!
Slash!
Slash!
Kick!
Bam!
"Doesn’t that mean you’re just weak?"
"I am not! I’m stronger than you! Get your ugly wrinkled face and teeth off my face, damn it!"
Punch!
Bam!
Bang!
Bang!
"Just focus on the battle, Thorgan."
"Yes, third brother."
Sigh
Simon released a light sigh as he calmly dodged the spear of an enslaved candidate, then he punched the candidate with his fist, sidestepped and dodged a fist coming at him from above, then he kicked the candidate in the head, sending him spiralling into two more candidates.
He calmly glanced at Thorgan, and he saw that the kid was moving at a speed that was much faster than him.
He killed the enslaved candidates from behind with his daggers coated in his demonic energy, and sometimes, he escaped through his shadow whenever he was encircled.
’His fighting sense is actually not bad. Whoever taught him how to fight in battles like this is definitely an exceptional warrior. And if he was not taught, then his talent is truly something else.’
Simon indifferently had this thought as he moved his hand to the back by an inch, held the arm that wanted to punch his face, then used his claws to pierce the eyes of the unlucky demon.
Thud
The demon fell, and Simon took a quick glance around.
’About twenty demons left... Hmm... I can still go on because of my vast experience in battles like this, but Thorgan cannot.’
’He’s expending a lot of demonic energy, and by the time we’re done, he’d have expended nearly all his demonic energy and he’d be useless against Varreth.’
Simon dodged another attack with very minimal movement, then he glanced at Varreth as he killed the enslaved candidate by ripping out its heart.
’He knows this, which is why there are more enslaved candidates fighting Thorgan, and he makes sure that I’m always preoccupied and not able to assist him.’
’He’s wary of me, but since he can see that I’m surprisingly not so easy to kill, he has decided to kill one of us or at worst, wear one of us down completely.’
’To be honest, he made a wise decision. If he sent all his slaves to attack me, I would have found a way to survive while Thorgan finds a way to attack him.’
’And fortunately for him, I’m still a Lesser Demon. I can’t control my chaos or use long range or wide scale magical attacks.’
’He knows this, and because an Odrasil would always make their slaves fight their battles for them instead of fighting it themselves, it’s obvious that he’d choose this method instead.’
Simon grabbed an enslaved candidate, used him as a shield, then to the surprise of Varreth who was observing both his battle and Thorgan’s battle, he threw the enslaved candidate at the Odrasil.
Slap!
A branch of the dead tree behind Varreth slapped the corpse of the enslaved candidate, and Varreth looked at Simon with a frown.
What had he accomplished by throwing the corpse at him?
Bang!
Simon jumped toward Varreth with full force, and a flicker of surprise could be seen in Varreth’s eyes.
He calmly waved his hand, and a branch of the dead tree swung at Simon.
Using his cat-like agility, he spun in the air, dodged the branch, then began running on it.
Varreth’s eyes flashed with a cold light, then he waved once again, and three branches swung at Simon.
With cold, indifferent eyes Simon dodged every single thing, and the distance between him and Varreth shortened.
Varreth’s eyes became solemn, and this time around, he changed the form of attack.
The branch Simon was standing on spun, causing Simon to have no choice but to fall off it despite his attempt to hold on to the branch.
Then six branches appeared around him, and they shot out wooden spikes at him.
Simon’s eyes widened at the sky that was filled with nearly a hundred spikes.
’Seems I have no choice.’
Simon’s eyes flashed with determination, and just as the wooden spikes were about to touch him, he stretched out his right hand and an object appeared in his hand.
The object was wrapped in black clothes, and it had the appearance of a sword.
The Chaos Sword!
Simon leisurely swung his sword at the incoming spikes even in its wrapped form, and a dark azure-orange sharp light was released from the sword.
The sharp light clashed with the spikes, and it effortlessly cut through the spikes and continued moving toward Varreth.
"What?" Varreth was shocked to the core, and not only was he shocked, he was scared.
He had no idea what the Chaos Sword was, but he knew that it was an artifact.
Only an artifact could release a sword energy wave.
But how?
How could Simon use an artifact in the Blackwind Valley after it was banned by the Shadowgrave Clan?
It was not meant to be possible!
Varreth quickly ordered every single tree around him to protect him from Simon’s attack, and it was nearly not enough.
Varreth watched with a stunned expression as nearly every single defence he placed in front of him was almost cut by a single swing of Simon’s sword.
’What sort of an artifact is that?’
Just as Varreth had this thought, Simon appeared in front of him with a light smile, and the last thing he saw was that smile.
Shiiing!
