The Broken Angel & Her Overprotective Brothers-Chapter 379: The Attacks & The Motive

"Master, our army is ready." A wolf shifter entered the study and informed the man who was sitting at the desk while gazing into a mirror-like thing which was showing him the image of a young woman who had been training hard to master the immense powers she unlocked nearly a month ago.
He had been watching her since forever and had witnessed her progress. As he watched her use powerful ancient spells, he felt proud for noticing such a gem in the very first place even before she was aware of her powers. Even though the mystery behind her powers still hadn’t been resolved, she was exactly what he needed to achieve his goal.
Turning his attention away from the mirror, he looked at the wolf shifter who just entered the study to deliver the piece of information. Nodding his head slowly, he gave the order, "Do as planned. Make sure to overwhelm the entire world with chaos and fear."
"Yes, Master."

"Trust me, Domenic. She’s as ready as she can ever be. It’s time for you to stop treating her like a kid. Let her fight her own fights. She’s more than capable now." Aleron tried to get some sense into his mate’s brain who was currently acting like an overprotective father.
"He’s right, Nick." Daniel also supported Aleron. "I know better than anyone else how you are feeling at the moment. She’s more like a child of ours than our sister. All we want is for her to be always safe and happy. But we can’t keep running, Nick. We need to face the truth and be done with it for once and for all."
Emily watched as her brothers struggled to accept the truth that they could no longer keep her safe and away from the darkness that had always been chasing her. Seeing them this worried for her broke her heart. The last thing she wanted was to see her family struggling with her... for her.
She turned her eyes toward Shadow who was sitting beside her. One of his hands was safely wrapped around her shoulders protectively, telling her that he was always there for her.
Feeling tired after all the mayhem that had taken place before the current argument, she spoke in a determined tone while addressing her brothers. "Guys, I have made my decision. I’m not running away this time. I will face whatever and whoever is coming for me this time. I will either win and be free for the rest of my life, or I will die trying."
She didn’t wait to listen to their protests and stood up to leave the living room where her family had gathered to discuss the grave matter. As she walked out of the mansion, she was greeted by the familiar presence of Kaiden who immediately pulled her into his arms and placed a soft kiss on her temple.
"Don’t worry too much. Sam and Aleron will make sure to convince your brothers." Shadow assured her and Emily nodded her head in response. The three of them climbed into Kaiden’s car and headed out of the mansion’s grounds.
"But have you really rethought about your plan with Aleron, Angel? Your brothers will not like it when they will find out about what you have done." There was concern in Kaiden’s voice as he raised the question.
"I have." Emily replied as she recalled her conversation with Aleron that took place early in the morning during their last training session. "They want to be a part of this war because they care about me and want to protect me, and I’m sending them away to safety because I care about them and want to protect them. Aren’t we both right in our places? It all depends on who’s smarter."
"Are you calling your brothers dumb?" Kaiden asked with a hint of teasing in his tone and it made Emily chuckle. Shadow too had a little smile playing on his lips as they headed in the direction of Silver Moon Pack.
The car was filled with silence for a while before Emily spoke again, "I’m still surprised that Aleron stepped back."
"It’s not really surprising. After the last war in the supernatural world five hundred years ago, Faes and Witches made the agreement to no longer participate into wars that doesn’t concern them directly. Since the current chaos is related to the humans and the shifters, neither of those two races are required to join us even if we are friends. As the Fae King, he’s thinking about the peace of his people instead of his personal relationships with us. That’s why he’s one of the greatest kings the Fae race have seen in a while." Shadow explained and both Emily and Kaiden nodded their heads in understanding. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
"But what if rogues decided to attack the Faes and Witches as well?" Emily asked as the question popped into her mind.
"The Witches live in a secluded area of the Fae Realm and the latter is warded with the most powerful ancient wards in the history of our world. Unless the rogues have an extremely powerful magic user on their side, they won’t be able to take down those wards ever." Shadow explained again.
"They really planned everything so well. The attacks did came out of the blue but at the right timing... when we were expecting them the least." Kaiden said as he drove the car past the gates of Sullivan Mansion and entered the protected grounds of Silver Moon Pack.
There was an extra buzz in the air as Emily climbed out of the car and followed the two men inside the Mansion. Everything had changed over the expanse of past one week as rogues started attacking the Mortal cities and small wolf packs out of nowhere.
At first, they didn’t understand what was going on but as Shadow and Kaiden investigated, they found out that everything was accordingly planned and the rogues had a greater motive behind their attacks... her!
