Chapter 359: Intimacy is the Solution

"You have to find a way to get things right." Emily didn’t even allow Kaiden to think that he had an option other than helping her out with her current predicament.

She was currently sitting in the living room after Shadow dropped her off at Kaiden’s apartment and once again disappeared somewhere.

Kaiden chuckled as if he was finding the entire situation funny. Placing his phone on the coffee table, he took a seat next to Emily on the couch. "Don’t worry. I will try my best."

"Don’t try. Solve it." Emily stated and gave him a hard look only to receive another soft chuckle in response.

"Fine. It’s not that hard. We will just need to work a little on your emotions to balance your powers." Kaiden finally replied seriously when he noticed that his mate was way too serious about the issue.

"How are we going to do that?" Emily asked with equal amount of interest and confusion.

Instead of replying directly with words, Kaiden arched his eyebrows high and gave her a look that said she must already know the answer.

Emily tried to recall if she knew anything that she was currently not able to think of, but even after certain long moments of trying, she came out empty. So, she just stared at Kaiden with a blank expression, waiting for him to finally explain something.

Realizing that his mate was completely clueless, Kaiden let out a sigh before he spoke - "To make it simple, since your elemental imbalance is the result of our intimacy, that’s where we will need to work."

The silence that followed his words lasted for way too long and when Emily finally tried to speak, she was unable to voice out proper sentences. "W-what... I mean... wait..." Her thoughts were all over the place and as the realization dawned over her that both Aleron and Shadow knew about it, she felt even more depressed.

"Stars!"

She wasn’t one to curse but she felt a sudden urge to speak out a few specific words to let out the frustration she was currently feeling.

"Is something wrong, Angel?" Kaiden asked when he noticed her reactions. He appeared quite calm against the anxiety that was taking control over Emily.

"Are you telling me that we will need to have sex to find a balance for my elements with my emotions?" She didn’t beat around the bush and asked the question directly.

"That’s right. We will work on finding a balance between your emotions and magic when you will have the least control over both of them, and that happens everytime you reach the climax of our love making." Kaiden explained.

"And... how long will that take?" Emily asked while trying to look at the big picture and not just focus on the ’sex’ part.

A smile stretched on Kaiden’s lips as he rested his arm over the headrest of the couch and turned to face his mate. "Who knows? Maybe just tonight... or several nights."

"T-tonight?" Emily felt her heart beating rapidly as she stared wide-eyed at the man who kept saying things that were making it hard for her to relax even for a moment.

"Mmhmm. Doesn’t it sound tempting? Besides, you just said that you want to solve this issue as quickly as possible so that you can continue your training with the fae King." Kaiden sure was enjoying every second of their conversation.

Emily’s mind whirled with a potent mixture of apprehension and curiosity as Kaiden’s words echoed in the room. She found herself struggling to reconcile the idea of using their intimacy as a means to harness her magical equilibrium. While she had a strong sense of responsibility to rectify the situation, the prospect of utilizing their bond in such a manner stirred an array of emotions within her. She felt mostly embarrassed as this newfound intimacy between the two of them was still so new for her.

Kaiden’s composed demeanor seemed to contrast sharply with Emily’s internal turbulence. Sensing her palpable unease, he extended a comforting hand, placing it gently on her shoulder. "Angel, I understand this might seem overwhelming, but remember, we’re in this together. We’ll navigate this challenge one step at a time."

"The imbalance is caused because of the intimacy, making it the root of the problem. The only solution is through finding a balance which we can only do while being intimate."

His words were so soft and his voice was so soothing as he tried to help her understand as well as relax. "But if you want to take time, we will do exactly that. Solving this issue matters, but what matters the most is your comfort." He tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear before cupping her cheek in his palm and inching closer to place a kiss on her forehead.

His words offered a semblance of solace amidst the tumult of her thoughts. Emily gazed at Kaiden, taking in the earnest reassurance etched across his features. She drew a deep breath, attempting to steady her racing heart and align her mind with the gravity of the situation at hand.

A surge of determination coursed through her, overriding the initial trepidation. She straightened her posture, meeting Kaiden’s gaze with a newfound resolve. "I trust you and I know that you will never do anything against my wish. I will let you guide since I know nothing about what I am supposed to do."

She stopped speaking to take in a deep breath before adding - "I... I think... tonight is... okay..." She bit down hard on her bottom lip as she stole a glance at Kaiden’s face and found his intense gaze fixed on her.

"Come here." He suddenly spoke, making Emily confused for a moment before she realized what he meant.

Slowly, she moved her folded legs and scooted toward him and as soon as she was within the radius of his reach, his hand took hold of her arm and she was pulled into his arms.
