The Broken Angel & Her Overprotective Brothers-Chapter 356: Howls

The night sky was filled with millions of stars but there was no hint of the moon. The view of the dense forest made the night appear even darker than it probably was.

Emily stood near the window of Kaiden’s bedroom in the Sullivan mansion, her eyes focused on certain wolves that were guarding the perimeters of the mansion where most of the Silver Wolf Pack was currently living.

"It’s making me kind of jealous to see you watching another wolf this intently," Kaiden whispered the words as he appeared behind her and his arms immediately found their way around her waist, pulling her back to rest against his chest. "How about you turn that attention toward your mate?"

A smile bloomed on Emily’s lips as she turned her face to the side, causing his lips to graze her cheek. His warm breath fanned her skin and all she could do was focus her eyes on his shoulder as she asked - "You finished the work?"

When she arrived at the Sullivan mansion half an hour ago with Rylan and Leo, Kaiden was immersed in some important pack business, so she had been waiting in his quarters.

Kaiden nodded his head in the affirmative before whispering, "Thank you for being so patient with me, Angel." He sealed his words with a soft kiss on her cheek that finally made Emily move her eyes to look into his.

"You have been patient with me for years. The least I can do is to wait for just a few minutes." She confessed while turning around in his arms to fully face him.

Kaiden placed another kiss on her forehead as if he was unable to hold himself back. "You are the best, Angel. The best." And then he placed another kiss on her cheek, making Emily burst out into soft giggles.

"I love to hear the sound of your laugh..." Kaiden confessed as he watched the way his mate’s beautiful deep emerald eyes were shining with happiness.

Emily stopped giggling but the smile remained on her lips, turning into a dangerous one right before she spoke in a husky tone - "Really? Then maybe I misunderstood because... I thought you loved the sound of my... moans..."

Kaiden’s eyes immediately darkened and he took a step forward, pushing Emily to take a step back. Another step forward, then another, and another, he continued until he had Emily’s back plastered against the windowsill. "Don’t start a game you have no plan of either continuing or finishing."

Emily stared at Kaiden, her heart fluttering crazily in the confinement of her chest. "I... I was just..."

"You were just trying to tease your mate, not knowing that these words of yours are more than enough to make me crazy. It has been merely a week since our first time together, neither me nor my wolf are currently strong enough to hold ourselves back if tempted." Kaiden warned as he pressed his forehead against hers. His raw tone somewhat resonated the desire that he was talking about.

Emily gulped as her eyes took in the intense look in his deep cerulean blue eyes. "Then... why are you holding back?" She dared to ask such a provocative question because she was no longer hesitant about the ’sex’ part in their relationship. The fear was long gone and she was both mentally and physically prepared after their first time together. That night, Kaiden proved to her that she was completely safe in his hands and he would put her happiness before anything else.

Kaiden studied her face closer as he replied - "Because I don’t want to scare you. I don’t want you to think that our relationship is just about sex now since we have already been together. I want you to want it too."

Emily couldn’t stop the genuine smile that curved the corners of her lips as her heart filled with warmth at his words. She slipped her arms over his shoulders and locked her fingers together at his nape before speaking - "I know that our relationship is more than just sex, you proved it by waiting all these years. Besides, you must be out of your mind to believe that after that night, I will have no desire."

It was true. She might not have a wolf inside her but that didn’t mean she was not craving the man in front of her just as much.

Kaiden’s arms tightened around her waist as he pushed his body against her, caging her between himself and the window behind her.

Emily failed to hold back the gasp that immediately escaped her lips the moment she felt his hardness pressing against her hip. He declared his desire for her very loud and clear without even actually saying anything.

It took her quite a while to produce words through her uncomfortably dry throat. Her small doe like eyes stared into his deep ones as she tried to work through her thoughts that were all over the place because of how her body was reacting to him. "You... I mean... I mean you... wait, I..."

She stopped speaking after stammering way too much, and shook her head as if to clear thoughts but a firm hold on her chin stopped her from moving her face.

Kaiden titled her head up and looked straight into her eyes with a smile stretching his lips. "Sometimes... when you struggle with words, just use actions to make your point."

Emily took in the words and allowed every cell in her body to process it before she closed the space between their faces and kissed him. It was meant to be a quick kiss but right when she was about to pull away, the hand still wrapped around her waist tightened and Kaiden took over the kiss, deepening it.

A soft moan escaped Emily’s lips and she found herself melting into his arms as they continued to kiss until... loud howls from the outside invaded their private moment.
