The Broken Angel & Her Overprotective Brothers-Chapter 349: No Benefits for Being an Alessandro
Emily was a mess by the time she finished her training session. After her record-reaking performance during the morning test, the Fae King made her practicle her control over her elememtal magic one by one, and it was surely not an easy thing to learn. Even now, after several long hours of practicing nothing but control, she had only suceeded in controlling her wind element to some level.
"What exactly did you learn during your Academy time?" The Fae King asked as he handed her a can of mixed fruit juice and took a seat opposite her on the bench in the pavilion. He looked equally disappointed and curious.
Emily took a big sip of the refreshing juice before answering - "Since I was a beginner who just learned about having magic, it took me quite a long to catch up with the other students. While others practiced spells and charms during first year, I was busy learning about magic and its world from the very scratch. It was not until the end of my second year that i finally caught up with all the theory work and started practicing my magical powers. But even then, it took me too long to wake up my long sleeping powers."
A long silence followed her confession and it was only after certain long minutes that the Fae King spoke - "Don’t think too much about the past. No matter how much you lacked during your Academy years, you have great powers and I will make sure that you will master your complete control over them."
He sounded determined and almost soft as he looked straight into her eyes.
Emily tilted her head to the side as she asked curiously - "Are you finally warming up to me because of Domenic?"
The Fae King let out a sigh and shook his head before he responded - "Don’t ever think that you will get any benefit for being his little sister. This fact will never change my attitude toward you. I may be politr toward you because of your relationship with him, but it will never change my perception and judgement of your skills. If one day I ended up praising you for something, it will only be because of you."
A smile bloomed on Emily’s lips and nodded her head in understanding - "That’s a relief then. It wants me to look forward to that day."
The Fae King just shook his head at her words but if Emily didn’t see it wrong, then there was definitely a hint of smile on his lips. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
"By the way, what are your plans about my brother? You aren’t thinking about giving up already just because he’s playing hard to get, right?" She asked curiously, the matter of her brothers’ love interests was always one of her favorites, just like how her love life was their biggest interest.
The Fae KIng looked at her in silence for a few moments with an unreadable expression on his face before he finally responded - "How about you help me a little with this situation?"

Emily made her way back to the Alessandro mansion after the long day of training with the Fae King. The sun had dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows over the grand estate. As she entered the ornate gates, her phone buzzed with notifications. She finally had access to her phone after being disconnected for most of the day. She glanced at the screen, seeing several unread messages and emails. The absence of missed calls reassured her that nothing urgent required her attention.
She opened her messages, and the first one caught her eye. It was from Kaiden, and it warmed her heart. "Missing you, and can’t wait to see you," he wrote. A smile tugged at her lips as she quickly typed back a reply: "Miss you too! Let’s meet up soon."
She then scrolled further and found messages in the family group chat. Her brothers were playfully ordering Daniel to cook their favorite meals. She chuckled, appreciating the camaraderie even through the digital medium.
The next message was from Shane. He informed her that the meeting between the Dragnoir family and the Sullivans had been scheduled for the coming Sunday.
The last message was from her personal assistant, a reminder to check her emails whenever she had free time. Emily sighed, knowing there would likely be a slew of work-related emails waiting for her.
After another ten minutes or so, Shadow parked the car in front of the majestic house, and the two of them climbed out, heading up the grand staircase and inside the mansion.
Emily’s body yearned for relaxation and comfort after a rigorous day of training. She took a long, hot bath to soothe her sore muscles before dressing in her comfortable night attire. Then, she descended the grand staircase, her footsteps echoing through the opulent hallways.
In the kitchen, she found Daniel bustling around with the kitchen staff, preparing a sumptuous dinner. His face lit up as he noticed her. "Sorellina, you’re home," he greeted her warmly, setting aside a saucepan to give her his undivided attention.
Emily nodded with a warm smile as she walked up next to him while waving at Domenic at the same time who was sitting at the dining table, engrossed in his laptop. He paused his work long enough to return her greeting with a welcoming smile.
As the evening progressed, Emily lent a hand to Daniel in the kitchen, chopping vegetables and chatting with her brothers and Shadow as the latter also joined them after getting freshened up.
Within the next hour, all her brothers were home, their laughter and banter filling the mansion. They gathered around the beautifully set dining table, a symbol of unity in their often chaotic lives. Plates clinked, glasses were raised, and they all enjoyed the delicious dinner and, most importantly, each other’s company.
As they shared stories and plans for the coming days, Emily couldn’t help but feel a sense of contentment wash over her. The Alessandro mansion was not just a house; it was a sanctuary where bonds were strengthened, and where, despite the challenges they faced in their world, they found solace in the warmth of family.
