The Broken Angel & Her Overprotective Brothers-Chapter 331: Nothing More & Nothing Less
Emily quickly waved her hands to dismiss the topic as she spoke, "No worries at all, I’m sure I’ll become her best friend soon enough."
The mood immediately lightened when Annika realized that Emily wasn’t sad or offended because of Clairy’s ignorant behavior. The woman really seemed to be walking on eggshells around them.
"Come on, let’s head inside. The others have been waiting for hours to meet you both." Emily suggested and they all finally decided to move and headed toward the entrance door.
They found Domenic in the living room where everyone took their seats. Emily moved to sit next to her eldest brother and whispered, "Try to act more like a sweet elder brother instead of the strict Alessandro master that you are. Don’t you even dare to scare either Annika or Clary."
Her words were only meant for Domenic to hear but of course, there was one more person who heard her loud and clear and it was none other than Shadow.
"I will try my best. I promise." Domenic whispered back in response before they both turned their attention toward their guests.
While Daniel introduced Domenic and Annika to each other, Leo and Crist entered the living room with their hands carrying trays with glasses filled with lemon water which made both Domenic and Emily raise their eyebrows in surprise.
Mark and Simon also appeared downstairs soon enough and Daniel kept introducing everyone. It would be a lie to say that everything kept going smoothly because the awkwardness was very much present in the air but Emily decided to take the matters into her hands because she didn’t want anything to go wrong.
As minutes passed by and everyone finally started opening up and relaxing around each other, the atmosphere became more warm and happy as the tension slowly left them all. By the time they moved to have family breakfast with their guests, Annika had opened up with almost everyone and Emily somehow succeeded in making Clairy agree to sit beside her at the dining table.
In the end, the very first family dinner between the Alessandro siblings and their special guests turned out way better than anyone would have predicted.

A deep sigh escaped Emily’s lips as she allowed her body to fall on the bed that had been calling her name ever since she stepped inside the bedroom.
She felt slender fingers against her right ankle before the man took off her heel and then moved to do the same with the other. His fingers then returned to gently massage her feet which made her let out another sigh of comfort.
"It’s been only weeks and I’m already regretting saying yes to taking training classes from the Fae King." She confessed miserably as she recalled just how tired she had been these days.
Every morning, she had to wake up at five o’clock for jogging, then she had training classes from seven o’clock to one o’clock at noon. After lunch, she still couldn’t rest because she had to work at the company as the company and the employees needed their CEO.
And even after wrapping up the office work in the evening, she couldn’t really rest because there were people in her life who needed her company and she couldn’t really use the excuse of being tired every other day.
All in all, she was only getting four-five hours of sleep these days with a lot of workload and heavy physical training that had finally started making her regret her decision of getting trained by the Fae King just because she got influenced by Shadow’s words.
Her attention was pulled back toward the man as his fingers left her feet and started scooting upward. She didn’t say anything and just waited to see what he was up to.
Fortunately, or maybe, unfortunately, those fingers stopped even before reaching her knee and the man stood up from where he had been crouching next to the bed. Supporting his knees against the comforter on either side of her legs, he moved to hover over her with his hands supporting all his weight.
"What are you doing?" She asked him when he slowly lowered his body on her but still somehow managed not to crush her.
Instead of replying to her question, the man just buried his face in the crook of her neck and took a deep breath, inhaling her familiar scent and allowing his tensed and tired body to relax.
Emily slowly wrapped her arms around his broad shoulders before she let one of her hands move into his shoulder-length silver hair and then, she took off the hairband that was keeping his hair in place.
"Is the office work that tiring these days?" She asked as she brushed her fingers gently through his hair, slightly massaging his scalp which he was clearly enjoying.
"Still not as bad as yours," Kaiden whispered in response before he finally pulled his face away to look into her eyes. "How about you stay the night here?"
Emily pretended to be thinking about the offer for a couple of seconds while Kaiden looked at her silence with his deep cerulean eyes filled with hope. She wasn’t really thrilled to decline his offer but she barely had any other choice.
"You can’t, right?" He probably saw the answer written all over her face because the light in his beautiful eyes dimmed as he asked the obvious.
"I’m sorry but I really can’t. Shadow isn’t here and Domenic won’t be happy if I ended up making a last-minute change in the plans. Besides, I need some sleep and I don’t think I’ll be getting any if I ended up staying here." Emily tried to reason.
Kaiden narrowed his eyes at her words as he spoke, "You must have misunderstood my words, Angel. I was only offering for you to sleep here tonight, nothing more and nothing less."
A smile bloomed on Emily’s lips as she whispered, "Sure! I will believe it if you say so." She didn’t give him enough time to respond as she sealed his lips in a long and deep kiss.
