Chapter 280: The Magical Resort (Part Two)

"Is that a mermaid?"

Emily’s sudden question made Shadow and Kaiden turn to look in the direction she was pointing in. They found two mermaids sitting on top of a rock near the shore, welcoming the people who were getting off their boats.

The boat ride only took five minutes before it dropped them at their next destination which was anything but their rooms. But the journey of these five minutes was totally worth every single second as they got to see several water magic tricks on their way. With bubbles, fountains, sirens’ beautiful music, water formations, dolphins, and then mermaids, the resort was giving a full package without holding back.

But from what Emily learned from Kaiden, there was a special water show prepared by the resort at the waterfalls which could be only witnessed every Saturday at midnight. Good thing was, that they would also get to see the spectacular show.

"Seems like them. But why are you so excited? It’s not like this is your first time seeing one. If I remember correctly, you have seen most of the supernatural races during your academy year." Kaiden chuckled as he gave Emily a knowing look before he stood up to get down the boat as they too had reached the shore.

Shadow and Emily followed after him and they all headed forward after a quick welcome from the mermaids. "Even though I have friends from the water city, it doesn’t mean I get to see them in their real forms often. It’s been ages since I saw a mermaid." Emily said in her defense.

Kaiden nodded his head in understanding as he took hold of his mate’s hand and entangled their fingers together. Since Shadow was walking on his other side, he offered his free hand to him only to receive a ’What’s wrong with you’ look from the man.

He heard Emily chuckling beside her as she noticed their interaction. He moved his face closer to her ear and murmured, "He’s no fun."

Emily lightly slap his arm as she whispered back, "Stop teasing him, Kaiden. His good mood ain’t gonna last too long." It was a warning because she knew pretty well that even after seeing so many exciting things, Shadow wasn’t too impressed to be at the resort. It seemed like there was almost nothing in the world that could impress him.

"As you say, my angel," Kaiden replied with a little wink before they all headed towards the group of people that were also going to the hillside resort.

"Is that where we are heading now?" Emily asked in awe as she pointed at the cable cars that were waiting for them near the shore. It seemed like the surprises never ended in the Magical Resort.

"Things are really exciting here," Shadow murmured, making the other two chuckle as they all could hear the irony in his voice. The three of them headed towards the waiting cable cars and decided to take a separate one as they wanted to enjoy the experience.

"The view is so pretty." Emily couldn’t help but speak the words as she gazed at the dense forest down below. It reminded her a little bit of the dark forest surrounding her Academy, just less scary and dangerous.

"It indeed is. I am finally starting to get why this place is so popular. It sorts of deserves the hype. But there’s still a lot left for us to see so I’m going to refrain myself from giving it a five-star for now." Kaiden added as he too gazed at the forest down below, a good place for his night run.

"The moon is coming out," Shadow spoke as he noticed the moon that was peeking through the small clouds that were filling the sky near the horizon.

Emily turned her attention towards Kaiden with a look of worry on her face. Before this, she had never been with him during a full moon night, so she had no idea what to do or if she even needed to do something at all.

"It’s just the full moon, angel. Why are you looking so worried?" Kaiden asked as he noticed her worry-filled gaze. He wasnt sure if he should laugh or be worried about her.

"Who’s worried? I’m just at a complete loss here. Don’t you need to go for your run since the moon is out?" Emily directed the question at him as she folded her hands over her chest and waited for his response.

"There’s no hurry. I’ll leave once we will get to our rooms." Kaiden told her as he squeezed her hands lightly before settling back into his seat.

"Princess, look there." Shadow suddenly spoke after a few seconds of silence, making Emily and Kaiden turn their attention toward the direction Shadow was pointing at.

"What’s that? Butterflies? Or... Pixies!" Emily let out a surprised little chuckle as she noticed the little Seelies fluttering over the forest along with thousands of different colored butterflies that were shining brightly, fireflies, nightingales, and little tree flower fairies.

"They are enjoying the moonlight," Kaiden informed as he too witnessed a rare scene that was displayed in front of their eyes. The resort was built in the outer circle of a dense forest where different species of Seelie bloodline had been living for centuries.

They soon crossed the forest and finally arrived at the top of the hills where the resort was located. The cable cars dropped them on a huge open balcony on the seventh floor of the building that looked like the modern version of a royal castle.

"We are finally here," Emily announced as she looked at her surroundings, her eyes trying to take in all the details. She couldn’t deny at all that she was more than just impressed by the resort. She had been greeted with beautiful surprises at every corner.

"Come, let’s head to our rooms," Shadow said as he took them towards the portal that was waiting for them to take to their rooms.
