The Brilliant Fighting Master-Chapter 1628 - Lying Dragon Clique, Part II
There was a tall building on the opposite side of the street from the Tang Mansion.
A man and a woman were standing beside a window in this tall building facing the Tang Mansion. The woman was Fang Min, who had gone to the Tang Mansion earlier to end her engagement.
She was still upset about having been snubbed even though she had been the one to have first sought to break off the engagement.
The man standing next to her, with an average build and a dandy outfit, was trying to comfort her.
“I will punish them for making you angry,” the man said in a confident tone.
“Are you sure it’s really all right? His father was Jiang Chen’s bodyguard after all. Forcing his mother into the Palace…”
Fang Min didn’t finish the sentence, yet her expression showed that she was worried.
“Nobody would dare to make a move if Jiang Chen and the Empress were still here. Now is our chance to let people know our Lying Dragon Clique has seized power.”
This man was Luo Feng. His eyes were full of arrogance.
Fang Min nodded and said no more. Thinking about Liu Da’s fate, she felt happy in her heart.
Crowds were gathering on the street outside of the Tang Mansion, trying to figure out what was going on.
Combined with the incident that had happened earlier that day, the guards gave off an ominous feeling.
Inside of the mansion, Tang Fan had taken out his weapon and was ready to fight with the guards at all costs.
Brutal and merciless, the guards rushed forward.
Even though Tang Fan was at the Star Venerable level, the guards here were all equally skilled. Soon Tang Fan was outnumbered.
Officer Luo cracked a devilish grin, waiting for Liu Da to come to him to beg for mercy. And then, maybe he could seize the chance to take advantage of her.
Surprisingly, Liu Da seemed indifferent, looking at her son in danger. There was only anger flashing in her eyes.
“Do you really think I wouldn’t dare?”
Officer Luo shouted, “Defying the Imperial Guards is defying the Empress. Kill!”
The guards started to attack with death blows.
Just as Tang Fan was about to fall, an evil wind whipped through abruptly.
Officer Luo felt the deadly scent carried by the wind.
Sure enough, the guards fell to the ground one after another as the wind passed by. Their heavy armor crashed onto the floor, making a loud noise.
Strangely, all the other people in the Tang Mansion who also could feel the wind were just fine.
Officer Luo was completely terrified. Just as he was about to check if his subordinates were alive, he saw blood flowing from under each guard’s body.
HISS!
Officer Luo choked back his fear and fled to the door.
As he got closer to the door, the sound of the wind appeared again, coming closer and closer like it was after him specifically.
As Officer Luo reached the door, his body was sent flying through the air.
The bystanders outside the door quickly stepped aside, letting Officer Luo fall and smash on the ground.
WOW!
Realizing that Officer Luo had been killed, the onlookers went into an uproar.
Be that as it may, the Imperial Guards still represented the Flying Dragon Dynasty.
But that wasn’t the end of it. The corpses of the guards flew out of the house, one by one, falling on the street outside.
Nothing but silence could be heard at this moment.
Both Luo Feng and Fang Min in the tall building on the other side of the street were wondering if they had seen it wrong.
“God! The Tang family really dares to resist?”
Fang Min had some knowledge of the situation of the Tang family.
No way would they have had the ability to confront the guards, let alone the nerve.
“Could it be that the Empress Clique was hiding inside the Tang Mansion and sought to take this opportunity to start the war?”
Realizing the grave circumstances, Luo Feng hurried back home to report on the event.
In fact, he needn’t have bothered, as the news of the Imperial Guards being murdered in the capital had spread around immediately.
It’d even caused panic in the capital.
In less than 15 minutes, all the defense forces in the capital, from both the Lying Dragon Clique and the Empress Clique, had rushed toward the Tang Mansion.
Besides the Imperial Guards, there were also the Dragon-Protecting Troops and even bodyguards from the Marquis Champion’s own mansion. Even though no one knew he was back, his mansion was being managed by his sister.
“Qiu Yan, do you know what happened?”
The Officer of the Dragon-Protecting Troops was the former Senior General Du Zhenfei. He found Qiu Yan and asked about the situation.
“The message I received said the Fang family broke off the engagement. And then an officer from the Luo family went to the Tang Mansion to issue a challenge, and they were all killed,” Qiu Yan said solemnly.
“How could the Tang family have this kind of strength?”
“Who knows? But we need to protect the Tang family no matter what. I know Jiang Chen well. He is the last person who would want to implicate or trouble other people. Tang Zhengyi and my other brothers from the Red Flame Battalion all asked me to look after their families before they died,” Qiu Yan said seriously.
“I agree 100 percent,” Du Zhenfei said.
Nonetheless, their faces changed when they’d arrived at the Tang Mansion.
Almost the entire force of Imperial Guards had shown up. In addition, two masters, the only martial-grade powerhouses left in the Flying Dragon Dynasty nowadays, were also here.
Ever since the Endless Continent had been formed, the East Ridge had been desired. A force like the Flying Dragon Dynasty that had been entrenched for hundreds of years naturally attracted some great people: these two Martial Emperors for example.
“Get ready! Kill without mercy!”
An officer of the Imperial Guards was shouting orders fervently. He wanted to avenge the murder of his subordinates at all costs.
“Slow down!” Qiu Yan and Du Zhenfei hastened forward to stop it.
“Are you going to fight without getting the details of what happened?” Qiu Yan questioned.
“They didn’t come to ask me when they killed my people,” the officer said coldly.
“Being able to kill Luo Sheng and that many guards easily, it’s highly possible this person is a martial-grade master. Something bad could happen if you rush in there prematurely. It’s better to get to the bottom of this first,” Du Zhenfei said, changing his tactics.
Indeed, the officer hesitated, looking toward the two masters. “Okay, we’ll be here for you if you need us.”
The two masters instructed him not to worry.
The officer was reassured.
Countless balls of flame flickered as he waved his hand. Looking closely, it was numerous guards drawing their bows strapped with fire arrows.
“Burst Arrows? They really are leaving us no leeway at all.”
Beyond distressed, Qiu Yan said, “The Marquis Champion cares about the Tang family most of all. Aren’t you afraid he’s going to come back?”
“I’m afraid that in the eyes of the Marquis Champion, the tiny Flying Dragon Dynasty doesn’t even enter his eyes. He’s already the Lord of the Heavenly Palace, so why would he care about in insignificant Marquis Champion?”
The Chancellor could not deny, and said, “I see, he’s already forgotten about you.”
“Shoot the arrows!”
With a single order, countless arrows flew towards the Tang Mansion.
Judging from this, a wave of arrows could raze the Tang Mansion to the ground.
People of the national capital were shocked, and things were completely too much for them to keep up with.
“Alas, you have brought this on yourselves.” In the tall building, Fang Min shook his head, not thinking that the fault was his.
Seeing that the bursting arrows were about to fall on the Tang Mansion, a magical scene happened.
All the exploding arrows were frozen in the air, not moving.
After that, they switched directions and shot at the Royal Guards instead.
“Oh no!”
The Chancellor’s heart was heavy, not knowing what to do at all.
In the blink of an eye, the guards who had shot arrows all died from their own arrows, and their bodies were even destroyed by the power of the bursting arrows.
“Who dares to bully the weak here!”
Two martial-grade masters coldly shouted and flew into the Tang Mansion.
