Chapter 114: Came for his girl

"There they are!" Aiden pointed at two figures sitting on the deck. Dalton felt the stings of his heart play as familiar laughter erupted, one he recognized even in his sleep.

"Maya. " His wandered eyes landed on her beautiful long ebony hair, and he gazed at her with longing. A sense of ease filled his chest. He had expected to find her in tears, but here she was, radiating joy.

As Dalton’s eyes subconsciously absorbed his surroundings, he suddenly felt a sharp, irritating sensation shoot through his chest. He recognized that pain all too well. It was jealousy. He was consumed by jealousy. He should have been the one to bring Maya to this beautiful lake, not Marcello or any other man.

"Hey, Italian!" Aiden called out, and Maya and Marcello turned and stood to their feet.

"Which one of us were you calling?" Marcello asked, laughing. "Maya is Italian too."

Aiden scoffed.

"Dalton, you are here," Maya said, taking a hesitant step forward as if she were afraid of him. This brought back a terrible memory; Dalton recalled how terrified she had been when she stumbled upon him murdering Mr. Wilson.

Since she was hesitant to come to him, he decided to go to her instead. He strode over.

The first thing he noticed was her puffy, reddish eyes. "Have you been crying?" he asked, gently sweeping his thumb over her eyelids as he wiped away the remaining evidence of her tears.

"Are you still angry with me?" she asked, her shoulders slumping.

"Angry at you?" Dalton was confused. Why does she think he is angry with her?

"Your eyes, they look angry." She gave him a sad, frightened look.

"Oh." Dalton’s eyes softened. "I am not angry with you. I’m just upset about the whole situation, especially with Charlotte and that bastard she hired to... do this." His nostrils flared as anger simmered in his veins.

"I thought you were angry with me because you stormed off so furiously and looked at me coldly. It scared me." Her voice was shaky, and fresh tears filled her eyes.

"Oh, Maya," Dalton planted his hands on her hips and pulled her close. "I’m sorry I made you feel that way. I promise you, I wasn’t angry at you at all. I’m sorry for looking at you like that." His hands left her hips as he wrapped his arms tightly but gently around her, as if it were their last goodbye hug.

Maya rested her chin on his left shoulder, highlighting how Dalton’s tallness made her appear short. As she traced her hands over his back, Dalton felt a crave for something more, something beyond just a hug.

"Italian, why is it that whenever you are with Maya, the security team seems to lose track of her location?" Aiden abruptly questioned Marcello.

The question caught Dalton’s interest, and he broke the hug, but his arms remained around Maya’s waist as he gathered her protectively to his side.

Aiden continued, "The security team seems to know when you are with her, but they never know where you take her. Why does that happen?"

Dalton’s green eyes met Marcello’s gaze. "Why? If I hadn’t called you and asked for the address, my security team would have never discovered that you brought her here."

A lazy smirk danced on Marcello’s lips. "I’m sorry; masking my location is a habit of mine. I forgot Maya was with me. I’m the body collector, and the job comes with its dangers. People want me dead, so I need to keep my location hidden at all times. I didn’t mean to hide her from your security team," he concluded with a short laugh.

At that moment, Dalton found Marcello quite irritating. His mind was overwhelmed with a jumble of thoughts, leading him to distrust Marcello, the man who had taken a bullet for him.

Dalton quickly shook off these thoughts; Marcello had never given him any reason to mistrust him. This man nearly died for him. it’s enough reason to never doubt him.

"But I was good company, right? Beautiful." Marcello shot at Maya.

Maya nodded. "Yes, thank you for bringing me here and offering me comfort. I really appreciate it."

"I told you I’ve got you, Principessa. Just call me whenever you need me," he winked.

Maya smiled gratefully at him.

Dalton instantly became jealous; he couldn’t help but feel irritated by the flirtatious way Marcello spoke to Maya.

He didn’t know what came come over him; he just grabbed Maya and pressed her against his hard, steel chest as he crashed his lips aggressively against hers. He kissed her as if his life depended on it, whilst his fierce eyes glared at Marcello, silently conveying the message, ’Back off, she is mine.’ He deepened the kiss. their tongues intertwined in a desperate, tangled desire as he made it clear to the Italian man watching them that Maya could never be his. freёnovelkiss-com

"Ugh, I hope you’re not considering having sex in front of us," Aiden remarked.

Maya smiled shyly against Dalton’s lips as she pulledh away from the kiss, . "That was... wow," she whispered in his ear. "Can we do that again?"

Dalton gently bit her earlobe and said in a husky voice, "If these two idiots weren’t here, I would have laid you down, part your thighs, and fix my mouth between your legs, feasting upon you, until you come undone whilst screaming my name. "

"Oh," Maya moans, and that beautiful, intense sound filled with desire for him shot straight into his dick, causing it to twitch. God, he needs to taste her.

"Yeah, yeah, Black. I got the message. She is your girl, and I don’t stand a chance," Marcello said semi-playfully with a grunt. However, Dalton didn’t miss the annoyance and envy in Marcello’s tone. He shot Marcello a chilly look that could petrify anyone.

Maya laughed, oblivious to the tension brewing between Marcello and Dalton. But Aiden noticed it as he looked back and forth between them. A smirk rested at the corner of his lips; he was enjoying the show.

"Come on, psycho, let’s go get drunk at one of my favorite Italian bars and give these lovebirds some privacy," Marcello said, clapping Aiden on the back.

"Yeah, I need a drink. It’s been a long day. The twins are gone. I need some liquor to soothe my broken heart," Aiden says as he followed Marcello.

Dalton let out a satisfied sigh. "It’s getting cold out here. I need to get you home." He pressed a gentle kiss on Maya’s forehead.

"Sure," Maya replied, entwining her fingers with his as they walked away from the lake.

Now, everything is back on track. He is proposing this weekend.
