The Billionaire Twins Need A New Mommy!-Chapter 787: Damn right, it’s me.
[Holy Grounds]
Minutes ago...
"I can... move?"
Lola opened and closed her hands and even stretched her legs. Surprisingly, they felt as free as a bird. It was as though she hadn’t been beaten by Melissa at all.
Jumping from her spot, her mouth fell open in shock.
"Holy..." she gasped, snapping her eyes to Derek, who mirrored the same shock.
Just moments ago, Lola had been lying unconscious on the floor. No—before that, just minutes earlier, she had fallen unconscious almost instantly after injecting herself with that suspicious syringe.
But look at her now.
"What... is going on?" he blurted, eyes trembling. "How come... you can move now?"
Until now, Derek believed the syringe carried another paralytic drug. But seeing her like this told him otherwise.
Why would that child and that silver-eyed trash let her get hold of what looked like an antidote?
Weren’t they supposed to be enemies?
Those questions crossed Lola’s mind as well, but she shook her head, unwilling to dwell on them.
"Never mind that!" Lola leapt forward, grabbing the metal bars. "We’ve got to get moving. Wake up, Silo."
"..."
This time, she kicked the metal bars, making them clang violently. Derek jolted at the sound, snapping out of his trance.
"Wake Silo up," Lola ordered lowly. "We’re going to need to leave this place before any of them come back."
Regardless of that little girl’s and that silver-eyed trash’s intentions, no one would stop Lola from leaving this place. She reached for the lock of the cage, pulling at it to see if she could unlock it by brute force.
It was locked, as expected.
Meanwhile, Derek hurried to Silo’s side.
"Hey!" Derek shook him, but to no avail. He slapped Silo lightly. "Hey, wake up!"
Not bothering with him any longer, Lola scanned the room before her eyes landed on the open door. Slowly, she approached and hid behind the wall, carefully peeking out to see if anyone was guarding the entrance.
She half-expected no one to be outside. Otherwise, they would’ve rushed in with how loud Derek had been.
Much to her surprise, there were people in the hallway.
They were all... unconscious.
Deep lines formed on her face as she stepped out, taking in the guards lying motionless on the floor. They weren’t bleeding, nor were there any signs of a fight. She would’ve heard it if one had broken out.
But there was nothing.
"Those two..." she whispered, thinking of the little girl and the silver-eyed man. Especially the silver-eyed man—the one who had brought her here. "...were they actually helping me?"
But why?
If Melissa had been here, then this must’ve happened after she left.
Lola shook her head again, reminding herself not to dwell on it. What mattered was that she could move, and she could finally do something other than spew nonsense.
"Damn it," she muttered, approaching the unconscious guards to search for keys.
On the third man, she heard the faint clanging of metal. Pulling out the keyring, her face twitched at the handful of keys dangling from the round chain.
"Never mind," she muttered to herself as she rushed back into the cell.
When she returned, Derek was still trying to wake Silo. She ignored them, crouched in front of the lock, and began trying the keys one by one.
"You... can... move now?"
She paused at Amala’s weak voice. Smiling, she nodded. "We’re getting out of here, Amala. I’ll deal with Farah once you guys are safe."
Amala forced herself upright, managing to prop her back against the bars.
Lola continued testing the keys until she finally heard a click.
Her eyes widened.
"Got it." The corners of her lips stretched as she yanked the lock free.
When the door creaked open, Derek shivered at the sudden presence looming behind him.
"Move aside," she said.
Derek gulped and glanced back nervously, only to see her face half-shrouded in shadow. His heart nearly leapt out of his chest at the diabolical aura radiating from her. Without thinking, he scrambled aside.
Lola stepped forward, her feet planted on either side of Silo’s unconscious body. She crouched and grabbed him by the chest, hauling him up with ease.
What came next made Derek wince, and Amala chuckle weakly.
SLAP! 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
SLAP!
SLAP!
Lola smacked Silo left and right until he finally groaned awake. Grabbing him by the collar, she delivered one last slap—hard enough to make his ears ring.
"Ah!!" Silo clutched at himself as his upper body was jerked upright. His head spun, ears ringing, vision blurring, and yet clearing enough to see the looming danger inches from his face.
When he recognized her, his eyes nearly popped out.
"Lo—Lola!?"
"Damn right it’s me." She tightened her grip. "Now get up. We’re leaving."
With her help, Silo found himself sitting upright, confusion written all over his face. His gaze darted around as Lola crouched beside Amala to check on her.
"Not good," Lola muttered, glancing at Silo and Derek, who both stiffened instantly. "Get up and help Amala. Both of you will carry her out of here."
"..."
"NOW!"
"Yes, ma’am!"
Without hesitation, they scrambled to Amala’s side. Each man draped one of her arms over his shoulder, and on the count of three, they hoisted her up, sharing her weight between them.
"Let’s go," Lola ordered, already stepping out of the cell.
The two exchanged a look before following her into the hallway. There, they found Lola rummaging through the unconscious guards.
"The hell is wrong with these guys?" Lola scoffed, lifting a sword with a twisted expression. "Don’t they know it’s already the era of guns and faster weapons? Why keep swords like this?"
Regardless, she slung the strap across her body, settling the sword on her back. There were a few handguns too—small, low-caliber models. Better than nothing.
She turned back to the trio and tossed one handgun to Derek, then another to Silo. Both men caught them instinctively.
"Give it to Amala," she ordered. "She has a better chance of aiming straight—even in that state—than either of you."
Her eyes softened slightly as she looked at Amala. "That you can do, right?"
Amala gave a faint chuckle and nodded, gripping the handgun Derek handed her, her arms still resting on their shoulders.
"I’ve got you covered."
With that, Lola led her small group out of the cell toward the chaos that would soon engulf everyone.

Minutes later...
Melissa abruptly stopped in her tracks when she saw the people lying motionless on the pathway. Her eyes dilated, and without hesitation, she stepped over them and rushed to where Lola was supposed to be.
Stopping at the door, all she saw was the open cell—empty.
"Lola," she breathed, grinding her teeth. "Find her!"
