The Billionaire Twins Need A New Mommy!-Chapter 786: Thousand Percent
[Hours Ago]
"Uncle Ricky..." Chacha shook Henrik, but to no avail. The man lay there, gasping, his face flushed red from fever.
Second, squatting on the other side, tried as well. "Uncle Ricky, wake up! Alfred is in danger!"
Not long ago, the children had woken up to find themselves on another island near the mansion. Around them were guards from the Order. Judging from the grim expressions on the men’s faces as they busily attempted to make contact with those inside the mansion, the twins quickly understood that something was terribly wrong.
"Young Miss, Young Master," one of the guards approached, trying to stop them from disturbing the patient.
Aside from their group, the rest of the manor’s people had already arrived on the island. They were preparing to move while the situation in the mansion continued to unfold. They had no idea what was happening inside, but they knew one thing: unless ordered by Atlas or Lola, protocol required them to take the children and Henrik as far away as possible.
"Sir Henrik is heavily injured," the guard explained. "With everything going on, it’s best to let him rest until our transportation arrives."
But the twins ignored him.
When shaking Henrik didn’t work, they escalated to slapping his cheeks, tugging his hair, and pounding on his chest.
The guard watching this froze, his breath hitching as his hand hovered midair.
They’re going to kill him! He thought in horror.
Before he could intervene, Chacha suddenly bit Henrik’s arm.
"Wake up!" she shouted, sinking her teeth into his arm. "Mhm! Hnngh!"
"Ugh..." Henrik winced weakly, his brows twitching.
He felt the sharp sting in his arm, but his body was too numb to jolt properly. His eyes flickered beneath his lids before finally cracking open.
A groan escaped him as his blurred vision revealed two small faces hovering above him. He blinked weakly several times and propped himself up on one elbow, wincing as pain flared throughout his body. He didn’t even know where it hurt the most.
"Uncle Ricky, you’re awake!" Second chimed.
"Quick! We need to move!" Chacha added urgently. "Our mommy is in danger!"
The guard who had tried to stop them panicked, unsure how to handle the situation.
"Young Master... Young Miss..." he called helplessly, but the twins ignored him.
"Huh?" Henrik touched his head, disoriented and in pain. "You kids, what are you..."
His voice trailed off as memories flooded back. His brows knitted together as he recalled what had happened. When the final memory struck him, he flinched and looked around as if suddenly sobering up.
The place was the same island where disaster had struck. The only difference now was the crowd.
Deep lines formed on Henrik’s face as he observed Order members moving briskly—some arriving, others departing, all speaking in hushed urgency.
Right. The last thing I remember... that person—
SLAP!
Henrik’s thoughts were cut short when two small hands slapped his cheeks and squeezed them tightly.
"Uncle Ricky, don’t go into the light!" Chacha cried. "We still need you!"
Second pinched his arm. "Stay with us!"
"What are you two—" Henrik’s face twitched, equal parts irritated, confused, and in pain. These children were not helping.
But then he noticed their tear-filled eyes.
He darted his gaze between them and finally realized they weren’t playing around.
They were terrified.
"What’s going on?" he murmured hoarsely.
Chacha released his cheeks, and both children moved to either side of him. They helped him sit up and began explaining everything in rushed, overlapping voices, as if reporting to a superior who needed immediate action.
A bead of sweat rolled down Henrik’s throat as he swallowed hard. His eyes widened, as though he were doubting his own hearing.
This is ridiculous, he thought.
But looking at the chaos around him... it made sense.
Henrik placed a hand gently on each child’s head. They flinched slightly before looking up at him. Their eyes shimmered with unshed tears.
His lips parted, but no words came out.
He was in no condition to reassure them. In truth, he had no idea what he should do—or what he even could do—when enemies dared to attack the Order like this.
As his thoughts spiraled, another man rushed toward them. The guard watching over the twins straightened as his colleague approached. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"Sir," the newcomer said quietly, holding out a phone. "Sir Atlas is on the line."
At those words, Henrik and the twins looked up simultaneously.
The guard took the phone, listened briefly, then faced them. "Yes, sir. The Young Miss and Young Master are safe. Sir Henrik is awake."
"Give it to Henrik."
The guard raised his brows in surprise but nodded. "Yes, sir."
He extended the phone toward Henrik.
"Is it Atlas?" Henrik asked, only to break into a cough. When the guard hesitated, Henrik shook his head. "Give it to me."
Once he had the phone, he pressed it to his ear. There was a brief silence before Atlas’s voice came through.
"Henrik, they had your son," Atlas said without preamble. "Can you move?"
Henrik almost laughed at the absurdity, but the pain stopped him. "What do you need me to do? Your children are crying over here."
"Take care of them for now," Atlas instructed. It sounded less like a request and more like an order. "Bring them back to the House of Bellemonte with you... and take back your house from your wife’s control."
"..."
"I’ll send my men to assist you," Atlas continued when Henrik didn’t respond. "Once you secure the House of Bellemonte, send your forces to the Holy Grounds. We need added pressure."
Henrik exhaled slowly and nodded.
"You shouldn’t have asked if I can move when you’d already decided," he muttered.
A faint pause followed his voice as he thought of something.
"Fine." Henrik glanced at the twins and gave a short nod. "I’ll take care of them. Just make sure my son is safe. But, Atlas, can you tell me one thing?"
Henrik hesitated for a moment before he finally asked, "What are your odds that you’d succeed?"
"..." Atlas didn’t answer immediately, but when he did, it left Henrik chuckling weakly. "A thousand percent."
