Chapter 681: Chapter 681: Congratulations, You’re in Love

Although he was a foreigner, his Chinese was extraordinarily good. That "please enter" didn’t sound foreign to her at all.

Dr. Mayo seemed to have insight into people’s minds. He said, "I moved to Cathaysia with my parents at the age of ten, so my Chinese is quite good. Please have a seat, Miss Monroe."

With just one sentence, Summer knew that Dr. Mayo really had some skills.

She sat down opposite Dr. Mayo. He stood up and handed her a few sheets of paper, saying, "This is a psychological evaluation questionnaire. I made it myself and feel it’s better than the internationally used ones. You can fill it out while we chat."

"Okay." Summer nodded.

About an hour later, the long evaluation questionnaire was finally completed.

Dr. Mayo said, "Please wait a moment," and after a few minutes, he sat down opposite her with the comprehensive evaluation and, puzzled, said, "Miss Monroe, after our chat and your evaluation report, I find there’s nothing wrong with your psychology. On the contrary, your mental state is very good, showing that you are strong and resolute inside compared to many others. I’m curious why you’re here to see a psychologist?"

Summer hesitated for a moment, then gritted her teeth and explained her recent strange situation.

As she spoke, Dr. Mayo’s expression grew increasingly strange.

She couldn’t help but stop and asked, puzzled, "Dr. Mayo, what’s wrong? Is my condition very serious?"

Dr. Mayo rubbed his nose, momentarily at a loss for words.

He thought for a couple of seconds and asked, "Miss Monroe, have you ever been in love?"

Summer shook her head, "No."

Dr. Mayo fell silent once more, then asked, "Miss Monroe, have you ever watched idol dramas or romance novels?"

"No," Summer said. "Those things are for passing time, and I cherish my time very much. If I have time to watch TV, I’d rather spend it watching financial programs."

Dr. Mayo looked surprised, incredulous, saying, "Miss Monroe, a girl your age actually likes watching financial news. It’s unbelievable. No wonder... you encountered this problem and your first reaction was to come see me, a psychologist."

Summer was puzzled, "What do you mean by that?"

Dr. Mayo smiled, showing his white teeth, stood up, and shook hands with Summer.

Summer instinctively reached out her hand, and as their hands clasped, Dr. Mayo said, "Congratulations, Miss Monroe, you’re in love."

...

In the waiting room.

Holly Holloway drank one cup of jasmine tea after another. Just as she was about to go to the restroom for the fourth time, Summer finally came out.

"Sadie!" Holly quickly greeted her and asked, "What did Dr. Mayo say?"

Summer shook her head with a complex expression, as if lost. She spoke in a dry voice, "Let’s go back to school, class is about to start."

"What’s wrong with you?" Holly looked at Summer’s lost appearance and couldn’t help but feel worried.

Just then, Dr. Mayo followed them out and, hearing Holly’s words, laughed, "Don’t worry, Holly, your friend has no issues at all."

"But..."

But Summer’s look didn’t seem like she had no issues at all.

On the way back, Summer stared silently out of the car window at the scenery receding in the distance, her eyes seemingly unfocused.

Holly noticed Summer’s unusual silence and grew even more concerned.

She wanted to speak several times but hesitated, fearing she might touch on something upsetting for Summer, and ultimately chose to ask nothing.
