The Billionaire CEO Wants to Marry Me Every Day-Chapter 497: Is Your Head Filled with Paste?
The lights in the audience seating of the concert hall were dimmed at this moment, only the stage had lights around the host who was warming up the crowd.
Principal Payne walked halfway smoothly, but by sheer bad luck, someone was coming out from a row of seats just as he passed by, and they collided directly.
"Ouch—" Principal Payne cried out in pain, clutching his forehead. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
The other person wasn’t much better off from the collision, inhaling sharply from the pain.
Just as Principal Payne was preparing to endure the pain and continue walking, the other person grabbed his sleeve and sternly reprimanded, "Where are you going before the performance is over?!"
"I..." Principal Payne looked up and his eyes met the other’s.
It was Mio Osborne!
Mio Osborne glimpsed Principal Payne’s face in the faint stage lighting and opened his lips slightly in surprise before asking, "Principal, are you alright? I thought it was a student sneaking out..."
"I’m fine, I’m fine!" Principal Payne gestured for silence and said, "You go and focus on your performance, I’m leaving."
"Leaving?" Mio Osborne blocked Principal Payne again and asked, "Where are you going? Isn’t Mr. Locke Berg also here? I was just thinking of asking you to introduce me to them."
Locke Berg also graduated from Britton University, but he graduated decades ago and was part of the arts department.
"Oh! Forget about introductions, it would just be embarrassing." Principal Payne sighed and said remorsefully, "Anyway, I advise you not to go. I need to sneak out now."
The principal’s odd behavior made Mio Osborne even more bewildered, and he pulled the principal’s sleeve again, asking seriously, "What’s going on, Principal?"
Realizing he couldn’t escape while being held by Mio Osborne, Principal Payne conceded and said, "Come out with me, I’ll tell you outside."
Mio Osborne hesitated for a moment but then followed the principal out of the concert hall.
Outside the hall, the moon was dim and few stars shone, the wind blowing in felt warm, contrasting sharply with the air-conditioned concert hall, resembling two different seasons.
The principal wiped the sweat from his forehead and without beating around the bush, said bluntly, "You heard about Willow’s incident before, sitting in the back. Mr. Berg humiliated us because of Willow’s piano skills. And then Damian Knight... I’m not sure what he’s thinking, but he’s somehow convinced Mr. Berg to stay and watch Summer Monroe perform..."
"What?!" Mio Osborne’s brow immediately furrowed, "If Willow couldn’t impress them, how possibly could Summer?"
"Exactly!" Principal Payne sighed heavily with frustration.
Mio Osborne was silent for two seconds then said, "I’m going backstage right now to stop Summer from going on stage!"
Principal Payne hesitated but then waved his hand saying, "Isn’t that a bit much? We shouldn’t dampen the student’s enthusiasm. Well, forget it, I’ll be off now, contact me after Mr. Berg and the others leave!"
With that, Principal Payne didn’t wait for Mio Osborne’s reply and quickly ran off into the distance.
His speed was surprisingly swift, not at all like someone of his age.
Mio Osborne stood there for awhile, then resolutely decided to go back and stop Summer from performing.
Even though he did not understand piano, he knew how difficult "Rebirth" was.
Considering even someone of Willow’s caliber was ridiculed by Locke Berg, let alone Summer, it would simply be going on stage to make a fool of oneself.
Damian Knight, what on earth is in your head!
Is it mush?
How could you think so recklessly, letting Summer play the piano in front of Mr. Berg?
If Mr. Berg gets mad, how will he ever be introduced to Mr. Berg and his associates?
Mio Osborne’s steps quickened, charging towards the concert hall with a determined pace.
