The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress-Chapter 741 - 782: Hiding Her Passport
Sienna Johnson didn’t want to move. She snuggled under the covers, dismissing him, "I’m already exhausted and don’t want to budge. Go eat by yourself."
"Don’t want to move? It’s not a short walk from our bedroom to here. I thought you quite liked exercising. I took a shower early this morning, and you were already gone," Adrian Desmond said sarcastically.
"That’s why. I overdid the exercise, so now I don’t want to move," she said, her words carrying a double meaning.
Sienna pulled the blanket over her head, playing ostrich again. It seemed his efforts to please her last night hadn’t appeased her anger; she was still blaming him.
He walked over, sat on the edge of the bed, and placed his hand on a prominent lump under the blanket, assuming it was Sienna’s head.
Then he heard Sienna exclaim, "Don’t touch my butt!"
Adrian Desmond was speechless.
"So it’s your butt, huh? I thought it was your head." Saying that, he patted it twice more; he might as well take advantage while he could.
Adrian Desmond said, "Get up and have breakfast with me. I have to go on a business trip today and won’t be back for three to five days."
"Oh."
"What does ’oh’ mean? I’m leaving! Your man is leaving!" Sienna’s flat response wounded Adrian Desmond’s fragile, sensitive heart.
This man is so fussy, Sienna thought. She often went on business trips herself; it was no big deal.
"Sienna Johnson, get up and eat with me!" Adrian Desmond ordered.
Sienna didn’t move. Adrian Desmond dragged her out from under the covers. "I’ll give you five minutes to get dressed, or I’ll carry you to the restaurant just like this! If you don’t mind the embarrassment."
In the end, Sienna couldn’t hold out against Adrian Desmond and was carried by him to breakfast.
The breakfast was quite lavish, with a good mix of meat and vegetable dishes, all nutritionally balanced. Sienna hadn’t had much of an appetite initially, but the sight of the food suddenly made her feel hungry.
"Still say you’re not hungry?" Seeing her eat with such relish, Adrian Desmond couldn’t help but feel pleased.
"I’m going to Himakati this time. What present do you want?"
Back in Orienta, it seemed customary for men to bring their wives gifts when returning from business trips.
It’s just that his woman was rather difficult to please. Choosing a gift for her was truly a headache.
"Give me back my passport!"
"Your passport? Why are you asking me?"
Sienna narrowed her eyes, looking at the man across from her who was playing dumb. "Do you dare swear you really don’t know where my passport went?"
Adrian Desmond rubbed his nose and replied, "I was afraid you’d lose it, so I put it away safely for you."
Sienna glared at him. "I knew you were the one who took it." Besides him, no one else would do something so pointless.
"Where did you put it?"
Adrian Desmond answered cooperatively and honestly, "I think it might have ended up at the company. I’ll look for it when I go back, and I’ll give it to you when I find it."
"Why would you take my passport to your company?"
Sienna looked suspiciously at the man before her. She had a strong feeling he was deliberately messing with her. She’d been in Abyanabad for so long and had never seen him at any actual company.
Would an arms dealer really set up a dedicated office, anyway?
"Oh, I accidentally put it in my bag and took it to the company."
"Adrian Desmond, just go on treating me like an idiot!"
He gave a sarcastic laugh. "You’re no fool. You’re very smart..." He emphasized his next words, "I’m the one you’ve been leading around by the nose."
"Cut the nonsense. When are you going to your company to get my passport back for me?"
"I have an upcoming business trip. Let’s talk about it when I get back."
"When will you be back?"
His voice softened, yet it carried a teasing lilt. "Is Mrs. Desmond so reluctant to see me go on a business trip? I haven’t even left yet, and you’re already asking when I’ll be back... If you really can’t bear for me to leave, then I won’t go. I’ll just stay in bed with you..."
His voice trailed off, becoming very soft, carrying an almost dreamlike quality.
Sienna glared at him. "Exactly how many days until you’re back?"
"A week at most!"
Adrian Desmond looked at Sienna, his eyes filled with affection. He curved his lips, his dark eyes deep and intense, just like that night. "Don’t keep giving me that sullen look. My line of work is like dancing on the edge of a blade; who knows, one of these trips, I might not come back..."
"If I die, you’ll become a widow."
Sienna looked at him with concern. "Since you’re about to leave, don’t say such unlucky things."
"We’ve been too busy talking. Eat more, it won’t taste good if it gets cold." Adrian Desmond placed some food on Sienna’s plate.
Sienna ate until she was about half full, then yawned, her eyes growing misty with sleepiness.
"I’m full. I’m going back to catch up on sleep. You take your time." She got up, covering her mouth with her hand as she yawned several times in a row.
Seeing how sleepy she was, Adrian Desmond didn’t stop her. He took a cigarette from its pack, placed it between his lips, lit it, and silently exhaled a series of smoke rings.
「On June 24th, the day of the Flower Festival, it was also Lucas Robertson and Kiki’s wedding day.」
Sienna had truly underestimated the importance of the Flower Festival in Abyanabad. From the moment she woke up that day, she could feel the palpable enthusiasm of its people. The sounds of firecrackers, drums, and gongs filled the air. Parade floats and throngs of people crowded the streets; it seemed as if the entire population of Abyanabad had poured out onto them. Luckily, they had arrived at the hotel early; otherwise, they would have definitely been stuck in traffic.
Four Seasons Spring Hotel.
Inside the grand banquet hall, over ten thousand candles adorned the wedding scene. The band was Avrupa’s famous "Sound of Heaven." A heart-shaped frame, wreathed in ten thousand roses, displayed an intimate wedding photo of a handsome man and a beautiful woman.
The main highlight was to be Lucas Robertson and Kiki passing under a nearly 500-meter-long rainbow bridge, fashioned from red roses and crystals, to share their first dance on the dance floor.
In the hotel room, Kiki, her makeup perfectly done, was almost beside herself with excitement.
"Sienna, this is too extravagant, too wasteful! Even your wedding to Sixth Master wasn’t this luxurious," Kiki said, a hint of guilt in her voice.
"You’ve always wanted a romantic wedding, Kiki. This luxurious and beautiful wedding is my gift to you. Do you like it?" Sienna asked.
Kiki’s eyes reddened. "I love it, I love it, I love it so much... Sienna, thank you."
"Don’t cry. You’ll ruin your makeup, and you won’t look as beautiful..."
She smiled through her tears. "I just never imagined I’d see this day... If it weren’t for you, I might have died long ago..."
"Shh... It’s a joyous occasion; don’t say such unlucky things."
Today was Kiki’s big day, and Sienna didn’t want her to dwell on those dark memories.
"Mm." Kiki was very obedient to Sienna. If Sienna told her not to say something, she wouldn’t.
As the wedding drew nearer, Kiki became increasingly nervous.
"Sienna, I need to go to the bathroom!" Kiki suddenly exclaimed.
"You just went five minutes ago..." Sienna reminded the extremely nervous Kiki.
"I can’t help it; I still have to go."
"Kiki, don’t be nervous. How about I chat with you for a bit, okay?"
