The Assassin's Enemy Lover-Chapter 498
498 Zi Han gets wasted... again.
Zi Feiji decided to steer the conversation in another direction thus he asked, “Your dad... does he want to ascend to the throne again?”
Zi Han who had no idea leaned back in his seat and replied, “I don’t know. I think he should. These corrupt officials have rotted the federation from within. Maybe he should take the throne back and shift things around,” replied Zi Han casually not so concerned about politics. He just wanted to be the executioner beside his father handing out punishments.
Zi Feiji sighed before getting up and picking up a bottle and two glasses. With a soft thud, he placed them on the table and said, “I have been saving this for a special occasion... and this is could be considered a very special occasion. You managed to achieve something that most would consider impossible. You saved the world and brought your father back. I am so proud of you,” he said and Zi Han smiled happily as his grandpa pat his shoulder.
He didn’t want an award or a ceremony for his achievements. He much preferred something as simple as this. Sitting with his grandad while drinking liquor and chatting. Biggest reward ever.
“You have had that on the display cabinet in your office for so long. Are you sure you want to open it now? Don’t you want to drink one of mom’s cheap wines? With her expensive tastes I honestly thought she would have stocked up on some good wine,” he said only for Zi Feiji to open the bottle before saying,
“You think she would keep her stash here? She keeps it in her cabin. She knows you took her bottle of Screaming Eagle cabernet sauvignon. You know she bought that at the auction house and you opened it and drank it all in one gulp,” he said reprimanding his grandson who didn’t inherit their love for expensive liquor. Zi Han was fine with any box of wine as long as it was sweet and didn’t give him a headache. He also loved fruit cocktails and he would drink them like drinking water.
“Uh yuck. It didn’t even taste sweet. I feel like I suffered for nothing,” he said and Zi Feiji glared at him.
“Well you better drink all of this otherwise I will ship you to the Yi family home and tell them to keep you forever,” said Zi Feiji while handing him a quarter filled crystal glass.
Zi Han, “...”
.....
He wanted to say he would love that but when he recalled the former Marshal’s attitude towards him he wasn’t so keen anymore.
He exhaled deeply with a look as though begging his grandpa for mercy. Grandpa Zi ignored him as he took a nice sip with a contented look on his face.
“Go on... it’s very good. Take a nice sip,” he said and Zi Han shook the glass gently hoping some of the ice could melt and help with the taste. Grandpa Zi who always wanted to share a drink with his grandson looked at him with expectant eyes and Zi Han could only comply.
He toughened up and took a sip his expression ugly. He was anticipating the worst but when it touched his tongue it wasn’t so bad.
This was a big mistake on his part. He shouldn’t have taken a second sip so quickly because when the aftertaste kicked in he almost cried tears of blood.
He coughed while accusing his grandpa of trying to poison him. “I thought you loved me *cough *cough *cough. I thought I was *cough your favourite. Grandpa you are trying to kill me,” he wailed and Zi Feiji rolled his eyes. Two words to best describe his grandson at this moment would be drama king and he was sure this boy inherited it from his father.
“Can I put candy in it? It might taste better,” he said and Zi Feiji’s eyes widened while pointing at him with his trembling finger.
“You dare? This is a seventy five year old bottle of Cadestine single malt whiskey, how dare you brat defile it,” he said ready to look for a slipper.
“Grandpa it’s even older than you? How can it taste good? It’s probably gone bad,” he said and Zi Feiji was at a loss for words. He suddenly regretted wasting it on him. It was his fault for being too sentimental. He should have bought tickets to an amusement park instead and taken him there. He was sure Zi Han would be very happy with that instead.
“Give it. I will give you something else,” he said choosing not to force him. At least he had taken a sip but just as Zi Feiji was about to take it away Zi Han hugged the glass and said,
“You can’t take back what you have already given grandpa. It’s mine now.”
So Zi Feiji watched his grandson drink the contents of the glass while trying to maintain a straight expression. After the torture was over Zi Han smiled gleefully with butterscotch candy in his mouth. 𝗳𝔯𝙚e𝒘e𝚋𝘯𝚘ν𝙚l.𝑐o𝙢
Zi Feiji was about to praise him when he suddenly collapsed on the table. He was dead drunk just like that.
Zi Feiji, “...”
He turned the bottle to check the alcohol content and looked at his grandson smacking his lips.
“What the....,” he muttered only for Zi Han to get up abruptly saying,
“I am up. I am up...”
“Are you okay?” asked Zi Feiji and Zi Han giggled before saying,
“Uh Ji Ji why do you have four heads?... And why are they spinning.”
Okay, he had most definitely poisoned his grandson and he wasn’t proud of it at all.
“Okay, let’s go and see the doctor,” he said trying to help him up.
“I don’t need a doctor... I need a love doctor. That bloody bastard pawned his ring,” said Zi Han spewing everything that came to mind.
Zi Feiji knew who this bastard he was talking about was but he didn’t understand anything after that. What ring? Why would Yi Chen pawn his ring?
“Grandpa you need to seek ju, justice for me. I was wronged,” whispered Zi Han the alcohol taking over his brain.
