The Art of Pursuing: The Unyielding Ex-wife-Chapter 136: Kicked Out of the House
Chapter 136: Chapter 136: Kicked Out of the House
She saw a post she made on her social circle two hours ago—it said, "I heard that hot pot and sashimi go best together in this season. I want to eat them."
Seeing her post, Xu Yisen messaged her privately—[Wait for me a bit, I’ll go to the supermarket and be right over.]
Having slept for a long time in the afternoon, Qin Muni had no hint of sleepiness at night, so she had to curl up in bed and read.
She only started feeling drowsy around two in the morning, putting down her book, turning off the lights, and after tossing and turning, she finally managed to fall asleep, only to be startled awake by the doorbell almost at three.
Qin Muni sat up abruptly in bed, a bit annoyed by the sudden ringing of the bell.
She reached out to turn on the bedside lamp, and casually picked up the tablet from the nightstand. When she opened the monitor, she was surprised to see a familiar figure standing outside the door.
Stunned for a moment, she put down the tablet, lifted the quilt, and immediately ran downstairs barefoot to open the door. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
When she opened the door, she was surprised to see Yuan Chengmo and his suitcase by his feet, and asked, "Senior, why are you here?"
The tightly shut door suddenly opened, and the face he had longed to see appeared in his eyes. Yuan Chengmo curved his lips, a trace of apology rising amid his drunken brow, "Sorry, Munni, for disturbing you at this hour."
Qin Muni could tell that Yuan Chengmo must have drunk quite a bit tonight, "Come in, what’s going on?"
She turned sideways to let Yuan Chengmo in.
Yuan Chengmo lifted his suitcase and stepped inside, speaking lightly as he faced away from Qin Muni, who was closing the door, "I was kicked out by my family."
"No way?"
The Yuan Family has only two sons, and Yuan Chengmo, being the second, naturally became the most spoiled young master.
Whether it was his grandparents, parents, or his elder brother, they all pampered him excessively, which also led to his occasionally spoiled and unruly character.
Yuan Chengmo changed into indoor slippers, looking aggrieved as he turned to gaze at Qin Muni, then nodded heavily, "Yeah, I find it hard to believe they kicked me out too."
"Did you do something wrong?"
Yuan Chengmo withdrew his gaze, lifted his leg to walk towards the living room, a hint of a bitter smile slowly lifting the corners of his lips. He replied nonchalantly, facing away from Qin Muni, "I don’t even know what I did wrong."
There was a hint of helplessness in his deep voice. Qin Muni followed behind him, not speaking further, but in her heart, she realized something might have truly happened in the Yuan Family.
"It’s snowing outside, do you want to watch the snow for a bit?"
"Sure, okay."
Qin Muni told Yuan Chengmo to wait in the guest room on the second floor while she went to the kitchen to brew a pot of hot tea.
When she finished making the tea and carried the tray to the guest room, Yuan Chengmo was staring out at the snowy scene from the bay window, lost in thought.
"What are you thinking about? So engrossed?"
Yuan Chengmo looked down at the tray she placed on the small tea table by the bay window, and chuckled lightly, "Didn’t you say you have poor sleep quality? It’s so late, you shouldn’t be drinking tea."
Qin Muni sat cross-legged opposite him, picking up the teapot to pour tea into their cups, her tone gentle as she answered, "A little won’t hurt. My sleep quality has been much better lately."
"That’s good." When the words fell, he reached out to pick up his teacup, gently blew on it, and after ensuring the tea was at a suitable temperature, he lifted the cup and took a sip of the warm tea.
He glanced at Qin Muni, who was also holding her teacup and sipping the tea, an unintentional soft curve rising at the corners of his thin lips.
"I remember you used to get unusually excited like you were on adrenaline before it snowed, insisting that we build snowmen and have snowball fights with you."
