The Ancient Genes-Chapter 838 Search For Cemetery
Chapter 838 Search For Cemetery f𝙧ee𝘄𝐞𝚋𝐧૦ѵeƖ.c𝘰𝓶
Edwinson Mansion, Ocien.
"Can you still not contact him?" Aria asked with a frown as she looked at Janet. Their group had arrived in Ocien for a while now. The past few days had been spent in leisure for the group.
Aria spent most of her time training for the competition, and Elly was just at peace. Recently she seemed to have picked plants as a hobby, and could be seen gardening most of the time.
And, yes, that's what they define as leisure.
The only exception was Janet who stuck to the true definition and kept sulking in boredom while lying around. She had come here expecting to have fun, but there was nothing as such.
She had thought of paying Max a visit, but then Max couldn't be contacted. And, when Aria found out about it, she had been pestering her about the matter.
Janet was worried at first, but then Max contacted her through the chat. And, she got a rough idea of what had happened and there was nothing to worry about. Elly on the other side didn't know about all of it, but she didn't seem tense.
Actually, she had just asked Lisa whether Max was fine or not, and she knew that he was.
But, what about Aria?
She had no idea about the things that Max was involved in, and she probably wouldn't understand how Janet found out Max is safe when he still couldn't be contacted. It definitely wouldn't make sense to her. Hence, Janet didn't speak out, thinking that she would probably forget about it..
But…
"Don't you think you should send someone to look for him? It has been a few days since you last heard from him?" Aria spoke with a serious look on her face.
'She is worried about her more than I thought..were they that good of a friend?' Janet thought inwardly. But, then she remembered about it. There was a time when Max and Aria shared an apartment. And, they even teased her about him.
'Nah..that can't be..Max is with Elly…right?' Janet suddenly found herself in doubt.
She was sure that Max and Elly were in a relationship, no doubt about it. But, there was something very odd about the situation around. She felt like Max and Elly had something in between them. It didn't feel like they were lovers. On the other hand, she felt something like Lisa and Max when the two were together.
Not to mention, she had heard her parents talking about Max and Lisa in a single sentence. She had no idea what it was about, but now that she connected one and one it all seemed to be hinting towards something in a weird way.
'Is that guy a playboy?' Janet couldn't help but ask herself as she once again looked at Aria whose face seemed to contain a little concern about Max's situation.
'What should I do? If all my friends fall for him, would our friendship break over fighting for Max?' Janet suddenly felt a chilling rising up her spine, and suddenly she felt a little drop of sweat sliding down her cheek.
That definitely was scary to imagine..
'What if they asked me to help? Whom should I support?' Janet began to make imaginary scenarios in her head, and get worried over it for nothing.
On the other side, both Elly and Aria gave her a weird look to her seeing the girl grabbing her head shaking it from side to side like a crazy person. Her actions really left them speechless. But, they were familiar with her, and knew that it must be something rubbish that was going on through her head.
…
Hell Volcanic Ranges, Crimson Spatial Pouch
"Why are we in this cursed place?" Blinken asked as he looked at Max who was walking in front of him as his whole body was drenched in his sweat.
Max looked at him with a smile in a similar condition. Who could have imagined they would be in this situation. The two of them were literally fighting like their life depended on it until a few days prior.
But, now?
The two were on their way to the deadliest volcanic mountain range in the spatial pouch. The place had killed a lot of people. And now it was a restricted area.
As for why Max was here, well…
It was all for his goal…to find the Ancient Cemetery.
He had a talk with the Matriarch and it seemed that she too had no idea about the Cemetery. But, she indeed said one thing. That if something existed in the spatial pouch without her knowledge, then it must be in the Hell Mountain Ranges.
Just as the name suggested, it was a place which you wouldn't want to visit. Max was obviously asked not to go, but as if he was going to listen. He knew how important the cemetery was.
Hence, he insisted on coming.
The Matriarch planned on sending someone along with him to protect him, but Max had long abandoned this concept. Protection was a restriction on growth. Besides, it was not about fights this time, but survival and finding the Cemetery.
Max definitely didn't think there was another guy better at it than him.
He had literally returned alive from the inner areas of the Orena when people said that it was a death ground for humans. fre𝑒𝘸𝚎𝚋n૦ѵℯl.c𝒐𝘮
But, Max sure wanted to bring one guy with him. And, yes, it was precisely Blinken.
Why?
Max felt that he was different from others. Much like Elly, Lisa, Mark or Venice. Someone who had some kind of different gene, it was just a matter of being fully awakened or not. Obviously Max had no way of identifying his theory when it came to Mark, Venice or even Blinken as they hadn't shown him any ability.
But, it was his instinct.
And, that definitely made it worth a try.
Hence, he took Blinken with him to find the Ancient Cemetery. He hoped that if they indeed succeeded, Blinken would awaken himself to his true abilities. That would be a huge boost for them, and the Crimsons.
As for the guy's character, Max didn't have any doubt about it after crossing fists with him, and the Matriarchs thought in a similar manner.
