The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter-Chapter 980: IT’S OVER
Chapter 980: IT’S OVER
Because Rei was a spirit, the only thing that could fight against it was the same entity. The entity that held the same power and strength like him and it was Lu.
This very moment was the very reason why Lu was there with them.
Cane knew that the lycan was their only way out to win against Rei and he knew what the sacrifice that was required for that to happen.
Right now, Lu’s spirit handled Rei’s and the lycan had completely out of Cane’s body, as the alpha dropped to his knees.
He didn’t feel any pain, but he felt like there was something missing, as if he lost an arm or leg. This was not a comfortable feeling.
Right now, above them, the black wisp hovered above them, covered the night sky. There was this streak of red light, occasionally that you could see.
But then, there was this white light that came from Iris. She closed her eyes and concentrated deeply. She had only one chance and she couldn’t waver.
In order to destroy Rei, she was going to destroy Lu as well.
The thought of it made her heart gripped with sadness. She liked the lycan. She knew how much the lycan loved Na and this was what he had been waiting for.
Lu had been waiting for the moment, where he could come to his Na and by ending this, she would do him a favor.
However, it couldn’t compensate the sadness that Iris felt.
Iris remembered the moment that she had with the lycan and all of his antics. She was sad that she didn’t treat him well, thinking he was part of Cane and he would be there forever with them.
Was it a goodbye?
She hoped, she would have a chance to treat him better. Telling him the story about the little girl and the monster. Telling him how much she appreciated his help and presence.
Iris didn’t think she had treated the lycan nicely, thanking him for everything he had done for them, for her...
And now, when Iris opened her eyes, she watched as her bright light swallowed the black wisp, in extent was the red light. Iris purified the spirit of the lycan and Rei.
The power that she let out was astounding, all the people had to cover their eyes because the light was too blinding and it felt like they were in the middle of summer afternoon. The light was warm and gentle and it calmed them down.
The blazing light lasted for around five minutes before finally it dimmed and they could open their eyes to see this quiet desert again.
The black wisp, the blinding light and the red light had dispersed, it had disappeared, left them in the dark again.
The night was long, but it would end soon and the only that was left was the ten people in the desert of Lucentsand...
Everything was over.
Iris was spent, she felt her body ached, but her heart hurt even more. She didn’t even know how to mourn the lycan.
Lu was gone...
He had gone.
Iris looked around, she hoped she could see Lu again just like how she saw Cedric’s spirit, even if it was only for a few second. She wanted to thank the lycan...
However, she couldn’t see anything. There was only sand and the horizon looked so far, while this quietness was deafening.
Iris bit her lip, she immediately stood up and approached Cane. The alpha looked a little bit pale, he was breathing raggedly.
His condition was understandable because the lycan just left him. This feeling was not as worse as when they tried to extract the lycan out of him forcefully, but still, there was this void that he couldn’t explain.
"Are you, okay?" Iris asked worriedly.
Meanwhile, Cezi and Zale checked on Lou, while Cedric approached Abby. Jace and Ethan went to see the alpha and the luna.
They couldn’t believe it was finally over. After so many deaths, it was finally over.
"Abby..." Cedric called her name, he looked concern. "You need to stand up," he said.
They needed to check on Lou. It was only the merchant, who could create the portal and bring them back to Crystal Moon pack, without him, it would take more than a week for them to return.
However, Lou was in a very critical state. Iris and Abby took care of him. There was no one talking for hours, they didn’t even talk what just happened.
"We need to move now." Cane finally broke the silence. "The sun almost up."
This desert would be dangerous.
Ethan shifted into his beast and Redmond helped Jace to put Lou on the beast’s back. His condition was still not stable, but it was not life threatening. He would be fine.
"He is really stubborn," Redmond mumbled to himself. "He refused death countless times."
Rei and Decratic were no more and it left them with unthinkable damage that one had never imagined.
But, more importantly, the poisonous miasma was still a problem. Letto was the last pillar now. Unless they could find a way to help him, they had to kill him to put end to this madness. Letto would be the last.
Cane wrapped his arm around Iris’s waist and she leaned her head against him, as they walked away from this desert. Tears kept flowing down Iris’s cheeks, as she asked Cane in small voice.
"Cane... the lycan..." Her voice was trembling. "Haco said..."
Iris remembered what Haco said. Never let go of the lycan. It would be dangerous for Cane if the lycan was extracted from his body.
What would happen to Cane now?
Iris felt like she wanted to curl herself into a ball and cry. She was tired. She wanted all this bad thing to stop hunting them down.
"The lycan only with me for a few years. The effect will not as severe as Haco’s." Cane reassured her. The lycan was with Haco for fifty years, which made Haco’s life force intertwined with one another.
Iris flinched when she heard that. She remembered Haco’s last moment and how his condition was. Her grip on Cane’s arm tightened.
Would he forget about her? Would he forget about their sons too? How long it would take for Cane to reach that point?
It took Haco a year, what about Cane? How long he had?
When all of them were deep in thought, as they walked away from Lucentsand Desert and reached Moon Dew pack, suddenly in front of them a portal appeared and from inside, it was Aliana, Will, Aderan and Elder Dandolf.
However, behind them was Letto. The young man looked terrified, but there was this determination in his eyes.
"I will explain about this later, but you need to listen to me first," Aliana said hastily, as she explained the situation in Crystal Moon pack.
Apparently, a few hours after they left, there was this crack that appeared close to the pack, which let out poisonous miasma.
"I- I am ready..." Letto said. He walked forward. "I am ready." He had been explained about what had been done to him and he understood.
