The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter-Chapter 966: THE FINAL BATTLE (32)
Chapter 966: THE FINAL BATTLE (32)
Redmond picked up his son first and then the baby girl, Lucia, who looked at him with confusion, they blinked their big eyes and stretched out their hands to touch his face.
Sofia chuckled, she then proceeded to tell Redmond what he had missed.
Rye and Sofia had turned one years old and they could walk and talk a few words now. She told him a few things about what the kids liked and disliked.
Lucia was a sweet baby, but...
"... I don’t know how to put it, but I feel like Rye will occasionally have some attitude with me when I fed him something he didn’t like."
"I think he took after you," Redmond said without thinking and this made Sofia raised her brows.
"Are you sure? I think you got the fact wrong."
And the rest of their conversation went really well though they would bicker here and there, since Redmond would dump Rye’s bad habit as him following his mother’s trait.
At the same time, Lou managed to find Nala and Sabian as well. The old man had reunited with his twins too. They stayed together in the same inn like Aliana.
"The ships will be docked two days from now, I have prepared everything for us to leave. I am so glad you returned just in time, master," Sabian said cheerfully. Nala would go with them too, because she had no one else here and stayed behind in this continent wouldn’t give her any benefit.
"Who said we are going to leave?" Lou asked, he laid down on the bed. It felt so heavenly to finally get his tired body rested on the soft mattrass.
"Pardon me?" Sabian was confused. "What do you mean? Don’t you want to leave?"
"No." Lou shook his head and stretched out his hand for a gesture for Nala to get closer to him. "Why should I go?"
"Why don’t you want to go?" Nala asked, as she sat on his lap and he started to kiss her nape. He could be very clingy and sweet sometime and this was what Nala liked about this merchant. "There is nothing else for you here."
"Everything that I want is here," Lou replied, he caressed her inner thigh and this was a cure for Sabian to leave his master alone with the mistress. He closed the door behind him, hoping Nala would be able to talk sense to Lou, so he would leave with them in two days.
"All of your guild members had died, you don’t have your own business here, what else do you have?" Nala closed her eyes when Lou licked her collarbones and laid her down on the bed, as he hovered above her.
"I have Iris, Iris and Iris," Lou replied playfully, but Nala didn’t get it, she was very sullen the moment the name left Lou’s lips. "More so, Karam continent is not friendly to a shifter like you."
Nala didn’t care what Lou said after, she was very upset because Lou was still very much infatuated with Iris.
But, at the same time, Lou didn’t even know that the woman he dedicated himself to, was going to go through a labor.
Cane had asked Zephyr to look for a healer, though it wouldn’t be easy to find one in this chaotic situation. The alpha felt so stupid not to get one once they arrived in this pack.
However, because this was her second time, Iris looked rather calm compared to her mate. Their situation and her condition were way better than before and she believed everything would go well.
For now, Iris could feel the interval of her contraction became more and more closer, but it was not the time yet.
"Cane, don’t make a scary face like that, you will scare the babies," she teased him, because she couldn’t help it when she saw how Cane clenched his jaw tightly. She touched his face, making a soothing motion, but he caught her hand and bit her finger gently. "Why did you bite me?" Iris frowned.
Cane was sitting on the bed with Iris lounged against his chest. He felt time ticking very slow and he wondered where Zephyr was right now.
"Stop worrying about me, you should focus on yourself," Cane said grimly. He felt restless. What he showed on the surface not even half of the turmoil he kept inside, even so, he couldn’t mask it well.
Thankfully, Zephyr returned shortly and he got people that was even better than a healer. It was Aliana, Hanna and Abby.
Aliana and Hanna were elated to see Iris again, especially when they saw how well she was, it was way better than they imagined, while Abby greeted Iris politely, telling her how glad she was that she survived.
On the other hand, Iris felt overwhelmed with happiness to see the familiar faces that she had missed so much. She was even very happy to see Abby, as if they had been a great friend for a long time.
However, this was not the right time for that, they could relish their longing for each other later on, because right now they had to put their focus on to welcome the twins.
Aliana and Hanna moved quickly to prepare everything that was needed. Seeing Iris, they believed it would be a safe delivery without any major problem.
Meanwhile, Cane stayed with Iris, he didn’t budge at all from her side, holding her hand and peppered her with kisses. He looked even more nervous than his mate.
"Smile, will you," Iris teased him, but Cane’s expression didn’t change.
Iris could feel the pain was getting intense and the interval became very close now, she was ready to give birth and from the corner of her eyes, she could see her two little wolves spirit became restless too, as if they could feel her pain and wanted to get out as soon as possible.
Her babies...
"Push, luna, you can push now," Aliana said. Hanna stayed close with her to assist her, while Abby sat beside Iris, held her other hand to make it less painful for her. "You are doing great! Once again!"
Iris held both Cane and Abby’s hand, as she pushed her first baby. The alpha could feel his anxiety was on an extreme level, he didn’t even realize that he was holding a breath.
Meanwhile, the sky outside was so bright, it was a beautiful day in the end of the winter, which was rather warm, when the light of the afternoon sun went through the window after the wind blew away the cloud, it was the moment they heard the cry of the first baby.
"It’s a boy! It’s a boy!" Aliana said, she handed over the first baby to Hanna, who immediately cleaned him up, while Iris delivered her second baby. "It’s a boy again!" Aliana gave the other baby to Abby, who deemed Iris’s condition was fine enough for her to leave.
After the placentas of the babies were out, Cane cut the umbilical cord of his son and brought them to Iris, who looked exhausted, but happiness radiated off of her.
"They are beautiful..." Cane said softly.
