The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter-Chapter 956: THE FINAL BATTLE (22)
Chapter 956: THE FINAL BATTLE (22)
The mark that connected her with Cane had gone, which only left the connection between her and Decratic. The bond between the Serafim and Decratic. The balance between light and darkness.
Iris felt like she was being drawn, but she was too lazy to save herself. She was too tired. Her anger, pain and misery made the silence in this darkness became very therapeutic, something that she needed.
She was spent because of the rage she felt, the never ending battle, which resulted the death of so many people she held so dear. Probably, this was her sign to stop trying and let everything happened as it was.
This was very quiet here, very peaceful. It was the opposite of what was going on out there. Too many deaths, too many pain, too many gut- wrenching cries... she didn’t want that anymore when she was finally being in peace.
She watched from behind a murky veil how the world collapsed, how people died, the red smoke that spread throughout the land of this continent had consumed so many souls. They died without being able to fight back.
And right now, out there, if she was stepping out from this quiet place, she would watch the man that she loved being brutally murdered. Iris could see how much in pain Cane was when the bond between them snapped and vanished.
She was also in the same pain.
The connection that she built so hard for months in order to reach to him in his deep illusion, was destroyed when Decratic got rid of her mark.
She was in the dark now.
Meanwhile, in the reality that Iris didn’t want to face, the ground was spilt, the air was contaminated, world crumbled and the lycan was in agony...
The four of Iris’s protectors reached the lycan in time and created a barrier around them, as they helped the lycan. Aside from the pain from the mate bond, the cursed creature had breathed so much poisonous miasma, in which soon enough Cane was forced back into his human form.
"Are you alright?!" Lou asked Cane, he knelt down beside him. "Hey! Talk to me!" He needed to shout because the howling wind was very crazy.
Cane gritted his teeth, but he stood up and looked at Decratic with Iris. His mate was right before his eyes, but he couldn’t reach him. What made his blood boiled was the fact Decratic had his arms around her body.
However, there was one thing that gave him a mixed feeling, that was when he saw she was still pregnant. It was very obvious now their babies were due within a few weeks.
"The luna is pregnant!" Jace was surprised. He and Ethan had shifted back into their human form too.
"You don’t know?" Ethan frowned at him.
"You know?" Jace was even more shocked when he saw Ethan didn’t seem to be surprised. "The luna has been pregnant all this time and you know? Am I the only who didn’t know about this?" He looked around and watched that Lou and Redmond didn’t seem to be surprised, while Cezi and Cedric only had a mild reaction, while Zale looked excited.
"They wanted to keep it a secret." Ethan patted his shoulder.
"Even from me?" fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
"Don’t you think this is not the right time to mull over that?" Redmond frowned at Jace.
The beta was speechless. He was not sure why he would be the last person, who received such news? Though Redmon was right, he was still annoyed.
"What are you going to do now? Do you have any plan?" Lou approached Cane. He looked at him closely.
"Can you make an opening for me to get close to them?" Cane asked, while Decratic smirked at him, as if he watched their useless attempt to retaliate as a mere entertainment.
"Not sure," Lou said.
However, before the conversation could continue, Decratic had used his power to send thunder against Cane small party, scattered them and widen the distance between them.
Yet, that was not only it, because aside from countless thunder, there was these black bees that emerged from the fissure of the ground.
They didn’t have any idea how deathly this little creature was, but sure enough, they wouldn’t risk their life to find out.
The bees appeared in colony, at the very least, there were seven to eight colonies of bees. It moved so fast and aside dodging the thunder, they needed to dodge it too. Thing didn’t look good on their side.
"How is it? Do you like it? Will it ease your pain?" Decratic caressed Iris’s cheeks, while she didn’t respond to her.
"Damn these bees!" Lou roared, as a retaliation, he burned a few colonies of bees, creating fire surrounded him and the other, which was not put off even under the rain. The flames were so bright, it reflected on the dark night sky. "Cane, go! We will cover for you!"
Cane shifted into his beast and then charged forward, followed by Lou, who climbed onto Ethan’s beast, Zale, Jace, Redmond, Ethan and Cedric on Zephyr’s back.
Lou created an opening that Cane needed, as he gladly burned those bees from coming after them and the other created a shield around them, but a thunder was enough to break it, thus they needed to move faster than this.
It was not easy, especially when the ground kept shaking and splitting, while vomiting these bees.
Cane used the black wisp and killed one colony of it, but he could feel the broken mate bond impacted him. The lycan was not stable. He could feel the cursed creature clawed within him, wanted to be unleashed. The anger and the pain caused Lu to go feral.
However, Cane couldn’t let him out yet. He would attack without any plan. Lu didn’t think straight and he would only be played within Decratic’s palm. If Cane used black wisp more than this, there was a high chance Lu would take over.
This was their best shoot to take Decratic down.
Cane and the other were getting closer to Decratic and the devil didn’t even falter, as if he was waiting for them. It was so sick to see him smirking at them with his degrading gaze.
"Do you want to meet with him? Do you want to end him?" Decratic whispered to Iris’s ear, like a devil whisper. "Here. Take this. I know you treasure this dagger. End his life."
Decractic then proceed to remind Iris everything that Cane had done to her. The way his people treated her and all the heartache and pain that she had to go through just to be acknowledged by them.
The same old method. The same old tactic to evoke Iris’s hatred and get her lost in the darkness even more.
"End his life, Iris. He is worth nothing. Remember how he tortured you. Remember how he raped you. Remember how those people stoned you with the intention to kill you. Remember that..."
Decratic handed over the dagger to Iris’s hand and took a step back, as if he let Iris be in charge for this.
Whatever feeling Iris had for Cane wouldn’t matter if he was gone and Iris wouldn’t be able to comeback once she learned, she was the one, who had killed him.
Could you see the irony when the history repeated itself? Where the lycan would die in the hand of his lover and now Cane would walk the same path, but for him, it would be Iris herself, who would end him...
The moment the black beast reached her, Iris stabbed his neck with the dagger in her hand.

Joel and Finn were in their beast form when they raced toward the fortress. There were not many warriors because most of them went to Capital City with Lou and the other, and they were the youngest.
It was Joel, who reached the fortress first and the monsters were already on their gates and they had to hold their breath because the red smoke already crossed the fortress.
The two beasts found the device and immediately activated it, but at the same time, they heard this loud sound from the fortress, as a Vermeyes managed to take down the wall and a few monsters barged inside.
They were only a tad bit late, but a Vermeyes and a Geromine managed to enter.
Joel and Finn couldn’t communicate through mind link, but they managed to know what the other was thinking by only looking into their eyes.
They had breathed some of the red smoke and it would take effect on them soon. There was no way for them to fight a Vermeyes and a Geromine in this condition, even when they were in their best, they wouldn’t be able to outpower these monsters by only the two of them.
Therefore, their best chance was to rush back to the pack house and ask for help.
In that case, both of them raced toward the pack house again, praying the device that Lou created would manage to hold back those monsters out there and they only needed to deal with these two.
However, the Vermeyes caught sight of them when they were trying to sneak around and immediately chased after the two beasts.
Seeing this sudden aggressive movement, the Geromine gave a chase too. The two monsters were so big and they destroyed everything in their wake.
There was this moment when the Vermeyes destroyed a house and the wall fall on Joel, injured his leg, which slowed down his pace.
Finn turned back and Joel hollered, indicating for him to keep going, but Finn watched the Geromine was about to attack Joel because he didn’t run fast enough.
Without a second thought, Finn jumped and clawed the Geromine’s face, cut off one of its four arms. The Geromine was thrice the size of a grown up human and had the greatest healing ability, unless you could crush its heart, it wouldn’t stop the monster even when you cut off its head.
After that, the two of them rushed back toward the pack house again, but this time the Vermeyes was in the way and the side effect of the poisonous miasma started to get to them. Their movements began to become disorganized.

Decratic’s laughter filled the heavy air, as he watched the black beast fell to the ground, while Iris kneeling down, she had her hand around the beast’s neck, where she stabbed her dagger.
Lou and all the beasts that followed Cane stopped in their track when they watched the sight before their eyes, dumbfounded to see the black beast laid on the ground with Iris hovered above him.
"Good! Good! You have done it excellently!" Decratic guffawed. He was too happy to notice anything. His happiness radiated from his being, the darkness of his soul could be sensed by anyone presence there, as he walked toward Iris and caressed her head. "You are mine now... after all this time, you are finally mine."
Decratic smiled brilliantly at Iris, who was still kneeling down in front of him, the rain kept pouring down and the thunder was deafening.
However, when Iris lifted her head and looked at Decratic in the eyes, it was her clear blue eyes that greeted him.
Decratic didn’t realize it before because Iris’s position didn’t make it clear for him to see in detail, but now he noticed the lack of blood and how Iris held her dagger upside down with the dull side against the beast’s neck.
Before he could comprehend what actually happened and the laugh was still on his lips, Iris had stood up and when she withdrew the dagger from the beast’s neck, you could see this blinding light of the sixth sword.
"I love him more than a mere mate bond," Iris said, as he stabbed Decratic’s heart and the black wisp engulfed him, rendered him unable to move or retaliate.
