The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter-Chapter 1027: SIDE STORY (DEXTER): GRIEF
Chapter 1027: SIDE STORY (DEXTER): GRIEF
Deep down, Dexter knew it was a futile attempt for him to get away from this current situation. He wouldn’t be able to save Aria.
But still, he didn’t stop running with her on his back. She was too shocked to move when she finally realized she lost her parents and the people that she knew.
They didn’t have time to wait until she could get over her grief. They had to move as far as they could, that was the only slim chance they had.
"Why? Why did you do it?" Aria asked, crying. She shook her head, as if she wanted to get rid of the noise in her head. People were crying and screaming and that sound would be forever etched in her mind. "Why? What have done wrong that you wanted to kill us?"
Dexter couldn’t answer her question. He didn’t know how to answer that. The only thing that he knew he had to get her away from his people and for the aftermath, he would think about it once they were safe.
However, they had never reached the safety, because a second later two portals were created close to him and four magic users walked out from there, followed by his father, Zeke.
Dexter had never seen his father was so angry like right now, his face turned very red when he raised his hand and attacked his son.
Thankfully, Dexter was agile enough to dodge the attack, but with Aria was on his back, it was pretty difficult to move.
Both of them stumbled and fell to the soft sands, Aria was crying because the look on their faces were very terrifying, as if she could feel their killing intention.
"Stop this, Dexter." Zeke didn’t raise his voice, but that made him looked even more scary. "You know that you don’t have a chance to fight."
"Father, please..." Dexter had never asked anything to his father. He was an obedient child. He listened to what his father said and never refused any of his order. "I want her."
But, he wanted this woman.
Zeke narrowed his eyes. This was the first time Dexter rebelled like this. He had never done this before and he didn’t think he was capable of doing this.
As it turned out, he was completely wrong. This was the desire that he had to be warry about.
"You want her?"
"I want her, father. Spare her life."
Zeke didn’t say anything. He waved his hand and suddenly Aria stood up and strangled Dexter’s neck. It didn’t take a genius to know that Aria was being mind controlled by his own father.
"You still couldn’t do it, right?" Zeke asked, his voice was extremely cold and unforgiving, as if he currently didn’t try to kill his own son.
If there was one flaw of Dexter it must be the fact that he couldn’t use mind control. He was still young, there was still a lot of possibilities, there was a chance that his power had not yet fully developed.
Therefore, this was the best opportunity for Zeke to see whether Dexter had a knack to mind control or not.
"Father!" Dexter roared. He couldn’t use his magic against Aria. "Stop this!"
Under the influence, Aria was so strong, she managed to push him down to the sands, while the other magic users watched everything unfolded.
"Fight back. If you didn’t want to die, fight back."
Dexter couldn’t do that. He gathered his power, but he couldn’t do any harm on her. He didn’t have a heart to do so.
Therefore, Dexter resorted to push her away by using his magic, which sent her body flew backward and fell to the ground with a harsh sound.
"Aria!" Dexter immediately scrambled to get to her, but two magic users used barrier to stop him, which he couldn’t take it down easily, while he watched one magic user approached Aria. "NO! DON’T YOU DARE TO TOUCH HER! DON’T YOU DARE TO TOUCH HER!"
In his rage, Dexter managed to take down the barrier and then rushed toward Aria and the other magic user, he attacked him and killed him.
It came as a shock for him, because this was the first time he killed someone.
However, he couldn’t care less about it.
Aria was still under his father’s influence, but he couldn’t harm her with his magic, since his magic was an offensive magic.
"Stop this father!" Dexter roared. "I have done everything that you told me to do! Now, stop this!"
Zeke growled, but he didn’t say anything. He only stared at his son for a long time, while he tried to pin down Aria.
In the end, Zeke waved his hand. His voice was so cold when he spoke again.
"She will not want to be with you. Whether I used my power or not, she will never be one of us. She will find an opportunity to kill you."
Dexter gritted his teeth. "I will take care of her. I don’t care. I want her."
Zeke scowled at his son. "Fine. I will not do anything to her, but you must remember what I said to you right now. She is going to kill you one day."
With that, Zeke lifted his influence on Aria and the woman was crying when she got her senses back. It was very terrifying to be controlled by other people.
"It’s okay, it’s okay..." Dexter said, as he cradled Aria in his arms.
He didn’t have any other choice, but to return with his father. Aria came with him, but she was hysterical when she found so many dead bodies on the ground. All of them died in the worse way.
Somehow, their skin turned dark and flaky, their eyes opened wide, as if they saw the most horrifying thing in their life and their body as stiff as stone.
Aria found her parents and she couldn’t stop crying, especially when she touched them and their body crumbled like ash.
After that, Aria fell sick. She stayed inside the carriage with Dexter as they moved toward the next village.
And one night, what Zeke said came true.
That night Aria’s mind was clear enough to think and she found an opportunity to attack Dexter in his sleep.
However, Dexter could feel her intention and prevent that from happening, he flipped her body and pressed her down to the bed. The carriage had stopped because they were resting at night.
"You killed all of the people that I knew!" Aria was so angry, she was crying. She tried to get away from Dexter’s grip, but she couldn’t.
"I saved you, Aria. Remember? Now, you need to get used to this if you wanted to live."
Aria let out a frustrated growl, she looked at Dexter with anger and sadness in her eyes. "You are a good man, Dexter. I know that you don’t want this."
Dexter didn’t reply to that.
"You wanted to take me away, right? Take me away from these people, Dexter, please. I know that you are not as evil as them."
Dexter shook his head. "We can’t escape. This is the life that you will live from now on. You need to adapt soon with the current situation."
Aria shook her head. she didn’t want to adapt with this people. She didn’t even want to breath the same air with them.
"Why did you save me?"
Dexter fell silence for a while before he answered truthfully. "Because I like you."
Aria stopped struggling, tears on her eyes and when she spoke, her voice was hoarse. "I like you too, Dexter. I really do."
His grip on her loosened, as she used this opportunity to free her hands, but instead of pushing him away, she cupped his face and kissed him.
This was their first kiss. The feeling that they had never felt before, but this kiss tasted salty because Aria was crying profusely.
They kissed until their hearts contented, until they could close the void in their hearts, but it was not enough. They wanted more.
It was anger and sadness that they felt, but also desired for each other, as they started to take off each other clothes.
The night was very quiet, but inside the carriage, you could hear their moans and their despair for their current situation.
That was the night that Dexter would never forget in his entire life.
"Aria... Aria... I will save you. I will never let you go."
Aria didn’t say anything, she kept kissing him with tears kept streaming down her face.
This was the feeling that Dexter had never felt before and the sensation would be forever engraved in his mind. This was his first love and the first time he made love with a woman.
He loved her...
However, the next day he found out Aria killed herself. She slit her own throat when he was asleep because of the exhaustion. He didn’t know that. If only he knew, if only he was a little bit aware, she wouldn’t be able to end her life in this way.
Her body was still naked, laying down on his chest, while her blood was on his body. There was a lot of blood. It was warm and sticky.
Aria ended her life because she didn’t want the life that Dexter offered to her. She chose her own end.
Meanwhile, Dexter was so calm when they removed her body. Exceptionally calm. It was weird how emotions affected someone or how someone was grieving differently, because he didn’t seem to care about what had happened.
