Chapter 1015: SIDE STORY (REDMOND): YOU ARE MY DAUGHTER

Everyone had looked around, but they couldn’t even catch Lucia’s shadow. It was almost morning and the sky had turned greyish, but they still couldn’t find the little girl.

Redmond was livid beyond word. He couldn’t believe with what they had said to Lucia when he heard the reason for the fight and why his daughter was running away.

He expanded the searching area and tried to think of a place that Lucia might visit. There was no way that little girl would be able to leave the capital city without anyone noticing it. More so, they must have gotten any news since they had been looking for her for a whole day and night.

"Still no news?" Sofia asked Redmond when he returned to ask for Rye, whether he could think of a place that Lucia would use to hide.

"No." Redmond shook his head.

"Rye is currently sleeping," Sofia said, it was still morning and she didn’t get sleep a wink. "Ah! The queen!" She suddenly remembered. "Zenith happened to lose when he was little and the queen managed to find him! She had this ability to know the people’s whereabouts!"

They must be very panic because Lucia suddenly ran away, therefore they forgot about this fact, but they couldn’t be blamed, since this ability of the queen was not well known for public, since the queen had a lot of things that she could do with her extraordinary power.

With that, Redmond immediately rushed to the palace and request to meet with Iris.

Because Blue Moon pack and the Howling Wolf pack had merged into one and they called this place as the capital city, thus the news about Lucia was missing had not yet reached the palace, after all, there were a lot of matters that needed to be handled.

"Missing?" Iris’s sleepiness vanished. She granted Redmond’s request to see her because if he insisted to bother her sleep, there must be something very important. "What happened?"

Redmond told her what happened. He was a little bit frustrated and angry for what they said about his daughter. "We have looked for her since yesterday afternoon."

"But, only now you came to see me?"

"I forgot about your ability."

Iris shook her head. Because of their busy schedule, it had been a while since she saw Redmond in person, she met Sofia when she gave birth to her baby a week ago, but she was in hurry and couldn’t stay for long.

"Figured."

Iris then didn’t waste more time to look for Lucia. The little girl was actually within the palace area, where she hid in Zaya’s bedroom. Lucia used to play with Zaya, since she and Rye played with Zander and Zenith. The four of them were good friend and if Lucia was inside Zaya’s bedroom, it meant Zander and Zenith also involved in this.

It was indeed a perfect place to hide, since no one would look her inside the princess’s bedroom.

"I will come with you," Iris said and the two of them went to Zaya’s room. The queen entered first and saw Lucia curled herself next to Zaya, the two of them were sleeping peacefully.

Seeing this, Iris took the initiative and carried Zaya out of the room with her. Her daughter opened her eyes and called her, but fell asleep again. It was pretty obvious that she was not a morning person.

"She is still sleeping, just wait inside." Iris patted Redmond’s shoulder. "You are a great father, Redmond."

"Thank you. I really appreciated that." Redmond nodded politely at her. "You are also a great queen, Iris. This continent couldn’t have a better queen than you."

Iris grinned at Redmond and then left with her sleeping daughter, let the warrior to enter the room, so he could sort thing out with her.

Redmond entered the room and found Lucia was sleeping, she hugged herself. Even though it was faint, he still could see the stain of tears on her cheek and this made Redmond mad, not to his daughter, but to those people, who hurt her.

He didn’t wake her up, but simply waited for her to wake up on her own, while waiting, Redmond thought about what he had to say to her and it took him three hours to wait until Lucia woke up.

The little girl moved in her sleep and then opened her eyes groggily, she immediately startled when she saw Redmond was there, the look of guilty on her little face.

"Father..." Lucia said sheepishly, knew that she was in trouble for not going back home.

But, to her surprised, the first thing that her father asked was very different than she expected.

"Hungry?" Redmond asked.

However, Lucia burst into tears, she cried so hard, her face turned red. She missed her father and mother, also her brother and baby sister, but she was very upset and was afraid to go back home.

Therefore, to see her father here and asked whether she was hungry instead of scolding her, she felt so awful.

Redmond immediately came to her and hug her. He didn’t say anything, while Lucia was crying so hard, she was having a hard time to breath.

He kissed his daughter’s head and patted her back to ease her feeling. This must be very overwhelming for her.

And when Lucia finally slightly calmed down, Redmond let go of her and poured a cup of water, so she could moisten her dry throat.

"I- I am sorry, father..." Lucia apologized, she choked on her drink and Redmond told her to take it easy. "I am sorry, I make you worry."

"There is nothing for you to be sorry, Lucia," Redmond said, he kissed her cheeks. "You are right to be very upset. They are out of the lines, but you should handle it better."

"I know, I am sorry."

"No, what I meant was; if you wanted to fight them, do it when there was no one around."

Lucia stopped crying and she blinked her eyes at her father. She looked confused. Her father looked even madder than her, as he told her that he knew what the other girls had said that caused her to be very upset.

Of course, it was very annoying because they were only children, if it was their father, Redmond would love to fight them off, unfortunately, he couldn’t do that to little child.

"Father, mother will be angry if you told me that. Mother said not to fight."

"Well, this is an exception." Redmond huffed. He wanted to praise her for standing up for herself and clawed those girls’ faces, but it would be a bad parenting. "Nonetheless, you will be punished for this."

Lucia lowered her head. She fiddled with her fingers, looked very guilty and sad. "Okay..."

"Lucia," Redmond said, this time his tone was gentler, he pinched her chin and lifted her head to look at him. "You are my daughter. No matter what they said, you are my daughter. Family doesn’t mean you have to be blood related, family is the people that you are comfortable with, the people that close to your heart. The people that you love and love you back."

Lucia started to tear up again, she blinked her eyes so she wouldn’t cry, while Redmond kept talking.

"I lovey you, Lucia. Your mother and brother love you too, I am sure Nadia also missed her big sister."

Lucia cried again and hugged Redmond tightly. "I want to go home..."

"Sure, let’s go home. Let’s go to our family." Redmond hugged her tightly. "Don’t runaway again."

Lucia nodded, she was still crying and shortly, the two of them shifted into their beasts and rushed back home.

At first, Lucia was afraid to face her mother. If her father would nag her, let alone her mother, but the moment she entered the house and Sofia realized Redmond had returned with Lucia, she immediately hugged her daughter.

"Where have you been? You made all of us worried!" Sofia hugged Lucia tightly, she kissed both of her cheeks. "Are you hurt somewhere? Are you hungry?"

By this time, Rye had woken up and he immediately came to greet his siblings. "Lucia!" He hugged his sister too. "You should tell me if there was someone bother you." Rye frowned. "Next time tell me, okay? So, we can beat them up together."

Lucia laughed and apologized to them.

"You are my daughter, Lucia. Don’t let anyone to tell you otherwise." She caressed her daughter’s hair. "Yes, I didn’t give birth to you, but it meant, you have two pair of parents, don’t you think that’s great?"

"I am sorry, mother, I will not do it again," Lucia said apologetically. "I am wrong to runaway from home."

"You are my sister, no one will say otherwise!" Rye said firmly and Lucia nodded. He wiped her tears and took her hand. "Come, let’s see baby Nadia! She just woke up, I think she knew that you came home."

The two of them went to the nursery room happily.

"Where did you find her?" Sofia asked and Redmond told her about it. "She chose a nice place to crash."

Redmond laughed. "I think she had a good taste."

"If the princes and the princess helped her, the queen needs to have a talk with them."

"Knowing Iris, I think they got some scold from her."

And Redmond was right, Iris scolded her boys for not saying anything about it.

"That’s Zander’s idea, not me," Zenith complained.

"Zen, we are in this together," Zander protested.
