That Time My Anime Life Got Cursed by Outer Gods-Chapter 105 - 104: Thor’s Strength
Chapter 105 - 104: Thor's Strength
Kobayashi stood frozen at the doorway, staring at the unexpected reunion playing out in front of her.
If she hadn't already known Thor was a dragon, she might have thought Kanna was Thor and Shiro Sakamaki's long-lost child.
"Uhh... Thor, this is...?"
Thor, momentarily stunned, quickly picked up Kanna in surprise. She had sensed the faint scent of a dragon earlier but hadn't expected Kanna to come all the way here by herself.
"Kobayashi, let me introduce you. This is Kanna, she's also—"
She stopped mid-sentence when Kobayashi gave her a discreet look, reminding her they had guests. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
Kanna stared at Kobayashi, eyes full of wariness. "You're the one who kidnapped Lord Thor!"
Thor chuckled and pinched Kanna's chubby cheek. "No, Kobayashi didn't kidnap me—she saved my life. She's my master now!"
Thor puffed up. "And why did you come here with a stranger?"
Shiro could feel the slight hostility in Thor's gaze.
"I've been exiled and can't return for now," Kanna explained.
"Shiro Sakamaki is a good person. He treated me to tons of food! Please, don't be mad at him, Lord Thor."
"And he's super strong! He beat me in an instant!"
Thor's eyes widened a little in surprise. She hadn't expected this unassuming young man to have the strength to suppress a dragon, even if it was someone as young as Kanna.
"But Lord Thor," Kanna argued, "why did you choose to stay with humans? Even if she saved you, you could just repay her with treasure."
Thor scratched her cheek awkwardly. "Well, a lot happened... you don't need to worry about me, Kanna-chan."
Kobayashi finally broke the awkward tension. "Um... why don't we stop chatting at the door and come inside?"
"This Mr..."
"Just call me Shiro Sakamaki," he said casually. "No need for formalities."
Kobayashi nodded. "Alright then, Sakamaki-kun, come on in."
From the moment he entered the room, Thor's eyes never left Shiro. Part of it was her lack of trust in humans—she'd only been living among them for a short time, and Kobayashi was the only one she fully trusted.
But another part of her watched Shiro for a different reason. Even with her dragon pride, she had to admit—he was attractive by human standards. She was silently worried Kobayashi might fall for him.
Shiro, for his part, was tense. He could feel Thor's gaze sweeping over him like a predator's, and his body instinctively tightened as if sensing a natural enemy.
Thor's strength was on a different scale—close to a tier 6 mid-level. Combined with her ancient magic, she was easily leagues above his current power.
Even though he'd just surpassed his limits, seeing her reminded him how far he still had to go.
And then there were the others—Lucoa, Fafnir, Elma, and Ilulu. Even if Fafnir and Ilulu might be slightly below Thor in power, Elma was likely stronger, and Lucoa—Quetzalcoatl herself—was in a class of her own.
The room was thick with tension. Thor and Shiro silently sized each other up, while Kanna clung to Thor's skirt, clearly torn.
Kobayashi couldn't take the awkward silence anymore. "Um... Sakamaki-kun, are you leaving Kanna here with us?"
"Kind of," Shiro said, glancing down at Kanna, who was still holding Thor's skirt.
Kobayashi scratched her cheek, visibly conflicted. "Well... this place is already kinda cramped. And adding another mouth to feed..."
Shiro could tell she was trying to politely decline without hurting anyone's feelings.
Thor leaned forward. "Kobayashi, can't you take care of Kanna for a while?"
Kobayashi hesitated. She genuinely cared about Thor, and turning her down was hard—but the reality of their living situation loomed.
After a moment's struggle, she sighed in defeat. "Okay, okay. I'll do it. But we can't stay here—this place is too small. We'll have to move."
Thor pouted. "But this is our love nest, Kobayashi..."
Shiro simply watched them silently while Kanna's little face scrunched up in thought.
She had missed Thor a lot, that was true. But living with the red-haired woman... wasn't appealing. Besides—
She thought back to all the delicious things she'd eaten with Shiro, and her eyes lit up.
"Shiro, can I go with you instead?"
"Huh?"
Shiro blinked, startled by the sudden request.
"Eh?" Thor echoed, equally surprised.
Thor knew Kanna didn't trust humans easily—why would she want to follow Shiro?
"Can't I?" Kanna asked sweetly, her big blue eyes filled with hope.
"Well, I mean... sure," Shiro replied. "But didn't you come all this way to be with Thor? Why leave now?"
Kanna huffed. "I don't want to stay with the red-haired woman!"
Kobayashi: "..."
Thor: "..."
"And Shiro's place has way more food, and the house is bigger! It's super cramped here!"
