Taming the Hybrid Mate: Desired by Five Alphas-Chapter 199: Fire in the detention block
Andria’s POV
"They aren’t friends with us," I snapped. "They have never been. And the last time we were all in the same space, Alexa and Tricia weren’t nice to us either, or have you forgotten?"
Becca nodded vigorously, turning to face Mel, "Exactly! And did you forget how Tricia refused to participate in the cheer dance because Allison and Aria were in it? She literally told us that she wouldn’t be participating again because she felt Aria and Allison were monopolizing the field.
I mean, no one told her not to participate in other activities; she chose not to, and she turned that into a yardstick to stop Aria and Allison from cheering."
Mel groaned. "Maybe it was a misunderstanding..."
"It wasn’t, Mel. Whose side are you on?" I cut in.
"It hasn’t gotten to that, Ari," she said.
"Mel," I said slowly, "I’m not doing a game night with them present. I won’t even be in the same room with them. And the alpha successors are absolutely not coming if those two are invited."
Mel’s lips tightened. Her stubbornness lit up in her eyes, but then she slumped back with a dramatic exhale.
"Fine. I will scrap them." She scribbled aggressively on the list.
Relief flooded my chest. My shoulders sagged, tension finally releasing.
"Good. I’m good now, can’t be laughing with enemies in my house," I muttered under my breath.
The nightmare was not happening.
Not that night, not ever.
"Thank you," I muttered, rubbing my temples.
Becca clapped her hands suddenly. "Okay! Next item on the agenda, games!"
She shoved the notebook toward me.
On the list were Truth or Dare, charades, guess cards, and the blind cup challenge.
They were exciting games except that the first one reminded me of my dream.
"That’s actually... decent," I admitted.
Mel grinned. "We also planned refreshments."
"Oh goodness," I murmured. "What did you two do now?"
Mel lifted a finger. "Just the normal stuff, cookies, chips, fruit..."
Becca coughed.
"...and?" I asked suspiciously.
Mel smiled too sweetly. "And... a certain type of beer."
I paused. "...Mel."
She straightened, clearly proud. "It’s this new brew I learned about. I made sure to smuggle it in; I have my ways. They call it Moon-Crusher.
Just a few shots, and even the strongest wolf gets tipsy. Perfect for forcing people to do their dares if they refuse."
My blood ran cold, my heartbeat pounded in my ears.
The dream.
The bottle.
Tristan refuses the dare.
Mel is shaking a bottle in his face.
The crowd is chanting.
The kiss.
Oh no, the room felt like it was spinning.
I swallowed hard. "Mel... don’t bring that beer."
She blinked. "Why not? It’s fun."
Becca nodded. "Yeah, it’s perfect for the energy."
"No." I shook my head. "Please. Not that."
Mel gave me a long look. "What’s with you today? You are acting weird, refusing almost everything."
I hesitated, fingers digging into the bedsheet.
Should I tell them?
Should I admit to having seen a vision? Was it truly a vision or was I just being paranoid?.
But I was a Lunara-blooded wolf, and some Lunara-blooded wolves are blessed or cursed with that gift or curse always to see things before they happened.
I exhaled shakily. "Just... trust me. Don’t bring that beer."
Mel’s brows furrowed. "Andria, it’s literally the best part of the plan."
Becca nodded. "And everyone will expect drinks."
I groaned. "Guys..."
Mel crossed her arms. "It’s staying."
But the world tilted and my vision blurred. The dining table disappeared, and I was suddenly at the gate.
The guards were shot with a poisoned arrow, and Liara got the gate keys from one of them and snuck in.
Liara?
Was this real? Or was I dreaming again?.Becca gave me an apologetic look but nodded in response. "We’ll be careful. I promise."
I dropped my head into my hands. There was no winning this.
"Fine," I muttered. "But I swear if anything goes wrong..."
Mel and Becca chorused, "We know. You’ll kill us."
They burst into laughter.
I didn’t, it wasn’t funny. If only they knew the storm I was battling inside.
Not even ten minutes later, all three of our stomachs growled.
Becca clutched hers dramatically. "I’m starving."
Mel groaned, sliding off the bed. "Let’s go before I start chewing someone’s arm."
We grabbed our slippers and headed towards the dining.
I headed straight to the kitchen to prepare scrambled eggs, sausage and toasted bread.
"Aria decided to make breakfast today for us all," Mel announced.
"Well, if you put it that way, you have managed to make me do just that," I replied.
"So you were planning to make just yours before?" Becca asked.
"Of course, since you two decided to sit on the dining seats, as if it would provide breakfasts," i replied.
"Ouch, Ari, be a little less blunt, that hurts," Mel said.
"Well, I just stated the truth, and I was sure I wasn’t harsh either," I replied.
Soon, I was done preparing breakfast and served it.
"Ari, your food smells heavenly, never knew you could cook," Becca squealed.
"Maybe today was different," I replied to her, winking at her.
As we took a few bites of our food, our phones chimed.
BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.
Another school alert, maybe. What was wrong this time? I can’t find out if I don’t check.
Mel jumped. "What the...?"
Becca snatched hers first. "It’s from the Administration office."
"Ok, let’s see what’s in there," I said, scrolling my phone to the message.
"FIRE OUTBREAK IN DETENTION BLOCK.
ALL STUDENTS REMAIN IN THEIR APARTMENTS.
ONLY AUTHORIZED STUDENTS MAY REPORT TO THE SCHOOL BLOCK:
– ARIA, ALLISON, AVEN, DAMON AND TRISTAN.
DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DORMS, THE SITUATION IS UNDER CONTROL."
My heart slammed into my ribs.
The detention block where Jackson was locked up.
What now? What was he scheming?
Mel and Becca turned to me immediately.
"What do you think is happening?" Mel demanded.
I stared at her. "Why do you assume it is happening? I just got the message, and I’m just as surprised as you both are."
Becca pointed. "Your name is literally on the list!"
I frowned. "I just have to go there and find out why. I don’t think there is any big deal there," I replied to them.
But deep down in my heart, my heart hammered hard against my chest.
I stood quickly. "I... I needed to get dressed and see what the commotion was all about."
"Aria..." Becca started.
