Taming the Hybrid Mate: Desired by Five Alphas-Chapter 187: You can’t handle us together
Andria’s POV
The clanging echo of the detention room’s door shutting behind us lingered in the corridor, as we made our way towards the exit.
I exhaled quietly, slipping the knife back into the leather sheath at my thigh. My fingers still tingled from the faint trace of its spell. For a second, I caught Sir Kaelric’s gaze. His expression was controlled, his eyes were cold and somewhat distant.
But there was something else in his eyes, I couldn’t place, but if I could place the look on his face, I would say between admiration and worry.
I couldn’t tell anymore.
He broke the gaze first. "That was reckless," he muttered, his tone as calm as ever, yet his jaw had tightened.
I shrugged, wiping the blade with a small handkerchief. "Reckless gets results, Sir."
His lips curved faintly, almost amused, but he didn’t reply.
The Alpha successors trailed behind us as we left the detention block. I couldn’t ignore their presence or erase the dirty words they said to me today; I couldn’t...
I had to stop myself from thinking those dirty thoughts here, especially not close to Sir Kaelric.
Sir Kaelric walked ahead, posture straight, his coat brushing against his legs as he turned into the opposite hallway. "I’ll be in my office," he said without looking back. "I expect a full report from you, Wolfsburn."
"Understood," I replied automatically, although I didn’t really understand what he meant by a full report.
Then he disappeared into the hallway leading to his office, while the Alpha successors and I headed towards the exit of the school block.
Aven, Damon, and Tristan exchanged looks that could only mean trouble.
"Now," Damon said, his tone dripping with mischief, "shouldn’t we... celebrate that little show you put on back there?"
As if they had been waiting for Sir Kaelric to leave so that they could bombard me with their own thoughts and troubles.
"I wasn’t performing," I said, picking up my pace.
Aven grinned, catching up easily. "You call stabbing yourself and nearly giving us a heart attack not performing?"
"I call it a practical demonstration," I shot back, lengthening my stride.
I knew what they were doing; they were trying to get on my last nerves.
But the faster I walked, the closer they got.
Damon swung his arm casually around my shoulders, pulling me against his side, while Aven’s hand brushed mine before he caught it, placing his fingers firmly between my fingers.
Tristan was directly behind me; I could feel his breath ghosting the back of my neck. Their scent filled my nostrils, causing my whole body to shudder with strange excitement.
"Seems like you like to run," Tristan murmured, his voice a low tease near my ear, "especially after doing something as hot as bonding with one of your mates."
Here we go again.
I froze for half a heartbeat before I scoffed lightly. "I didn’t bond with anyone in there. And if you are referring to the strictly educative antidote demonstration, I hope you learned, or are you talking about something else?"
I asked, feigning ignorance, knowing deep down Aven must have let the cat out of the bag, but I wasn’t having that awkward conversation with any of them.
"Educative," Damon repeated, chuckling. "Ari, you know what he is talking about. You bond with Aven on the talent show day, and you start avoiding all of us the next day."
"I’m not avoiding any of you," I stopped and stared at each of them.
"Just that you three were fighting, and then suddenly you get back and you start suggesting getting down with me together, a foursome."
"Oh, I see," Tristan chuckled, "You cannot handle the three of us together, I get it." 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
He waved his hands dismissively in a teasing manner.
I elbowed him lightly in the ribs, earning a grin. "I’m heading to my apartment. I need rest before sports practice," I said, quickly changing the topic.
Aven squeezed my hand once, his gaze dipping lower than it should’ve. "Rest, huh? Sounds like you need help with that."
I rolled my eyes and tugged my hand free. "You are all impossible."
"Maybe," Tristan said, falling into step beside me, his tone quieter now, deeper. "But you like us that way."
I didn’t reply; I didn’t want to. Because it wasn’t a lie, but he was being so corky about that.
By the time we reached the junction that divided the male dormitory from the female’s, I turned to each of them and waved at them.
Damon finally dropped his arm, his smirk softening. "Go on then, President. Try not to dream about us."
"Not a chance," I said dryly, though my pulse said otherwise.
Aven gave a lazy half-bow. "We will see you at practice."
Tristan lingered a moment longer, gaze locked on mine. "Don’t run too far, Aria.."
Before I could respond, he turned and followed the others,
I exhaled sharply, forcing my heartbeat to settle, and hurried toward my dormitory before my thoughts betrayed me.
Mel was already dressed in her sports gear when I entered. She was quite energetic today, but that’s Mel, actually, always energetic and bubbly. But today, she was dressed in a way that screamed energy and liveliness.
She looked up from lacing her sneakers and grinned. "You look exhausted. Don’t tell me all that council drama finally got to you?"
I arched a brow. "You are enjoying this, aren’t you?"
"Maybe a little," she teased. "Told you you’d burn yourself out today. You woke up on a busy day such as today, and began it with a jog."
"Funny, jogging is very healthy, Mel, in case you have forgotten," I muttered, heading straight to my room.
Becca’s voice floated from behind her room’s door. "Don’t forget practice in an hour, and I can see that you are just coming back. Try not to be late."
"Already planning to be late," I replied, half-laughing as I shut my door.
I peeled off my jacket and the shirt beneath it, the faint sting from my arm reminding me of what had happened earlier. The wound had already closed completely, leaving only a faint pink mark. I stared at it for a while, brushing my thumb over the spot.
