Talentless Extra Of The Legendary Hero Academy-Chapter 121: Xaen I
Chapter 121: Xaen I
The Shadow Lord’s throne room was completely destroyed. Cracked dents appeared on the ground, and the walls crumpled as they were struck by lightning and tentacles of darkness.
The shockwave that followed each of their attacks was enough to tear what remained of the room, sweeping debris up into the air and the surroundings.
Severin was still under the throne, one of the remaining things that was still standing in the room, together with the pillar with the bloody skull and Anansi that was looking at him.
’....this is my chance to get away....’ Severin thought as he crawled out. The two that were fighting had taken it outside, and he wouldn’t be affected more than the backslash of howling wind that was sent down periodically.
Anansi took a step forward. "Do you think you can leave now that I’m not here? My shadow is still here, boy!"
Severin smiled and raised his two hands. "Can your shadow eat me for you? What do you think, shadow, can you devour the seed that’s said to be inside of me?"
He raised his brows as he said it.
Anansi sneered. "Nice try, but my shadow cannot eat you. Stop trying to create a rift between us! I’m going to deal with you later, and if you try to leave, I’ll break your limbs!"
"Such cruelty!" Severin mocked. Even he was getting angry at this point, and his eyes flashed. He hated it when he wasn’t able to make use of people due to the overwhelming powers between them.
’...fuck....’
But then another thing happened.
The ground shuddered. It was a faint rippling at first, but with his perception, Severin caught it accurately.
What is it now? freewebnσvel.cøm
Severin frowned and stared at the ground. The rippling was spreading, and it was getting stronger and closer.
’....what is that? Earthquake? No, it must be more than that....it’s as if something was trying to crawl out of the ground!....’
Severin turned, and without wasting time, he went back into his hiding place beneath the throne.
Anansi sneered. "Good, good! You can hide now and wait for me like a goo....!!"
The ground beneath him erupted.
The ground shattered, stones crumpled inward, and then exploded outward, and something lifted itself out of the ground.
Severin stared. "What the hell is that? Is that a fucking bird!"
Even this wasn’t part of Severin’s prediction!
A giant bird with three legs stood before Severin. It was so large that it took a fair share of the space in the room.
It was shaped like a flamingo with three legs, but its body was made up of bright red feathers.
The long beak that just swallowed Anansi raised and screeched so loudly the ground shook.
Severin shuddered. When the bird opened its mouth, it was filled with long curving fangs.
When did birds start having fangs? Or get that big? Oh well, they shouldn’t have three legs either!
Severin took a deep breath.
The aura and pressure he was getting from the bird weren’t any less than that of the Shadow Lord and Veyron. This bird is on their level?
But suddenly, someone that was previously concealed atop the bird by the feathers spoke in a low husky voice. "Did Veyron really call me here to kill one bug?"
Severin couldn’t see the woman, but he knew she was there. His face lightened, and a smile graced his lips. Is another opponent here?
His heart calmed down immediately. Things might just work out as he wanted.
The big bird suddenly began to shake. A shudder ran through its frame, and it let out a sharp crawling sound.
"What’s that?" the woman demanded.
Then.
"Spit him out immediately!"
The bird did.
Something seemed to be stuck in its throat as it heaved and spit saliva before it finally spat it out.
It was Anansi, now in his spider form. His eyes narrowed on the bird immediately. "What are you doing here, Xaen? Don’t tell me you are following Veyron to fight me?"
The woman finally showed herself. She was clad in very little clothing, only a feather shawl that wrapped around her body and threatened to be blown away by the next wind.
She walked to the head of the monster and stared down. Her face wore a complicated expression. "You are still holding on to this body, shadow. Won’t you let Anansi rest?"
A sneer came out of Anansi’s mouth. "It’s none of your business, old hag!"
Xaen’s face turned cold immediately. "Do you think you can really fight Veyron and me? Do you think you can fight me with a husk like Anansi?"
A laughter rang out from Anansi. "You fool! I have a story you’ve never heard before in your life, and you won’t know what hit you when...!"
Xaen didn’t let him finish. The bird spread its wings, the red feathers spreading like a sea of blood. The wind it blew was so hard that even Anansi was sent back a few steps.
Severin narrowed his eyes as he witnessed what happened next.
The red on the bird began to melt. Then it began to shimmer, and the temperature in the room began to rise.
The heat that followed was an intense one, and Severin was soaking wet in an instant. The floor and surroundings began to melt.
’....is...that bird a walking volcano?’ Severin thought.
He got out from his hiding place as the pit of melting ground spread, and he stood on the throne.
Xaen smiled as she remained unaffected by the heat and lava on the bird. "I’ll just destroy this husk so you won’t have a body to play with."
Severin understood then. This Xaen must be a Lord as well.
But Anansi didn’t seem afraid. He stared at Xaen calmly. "A fight between four Lords. It’s been a while."
"Veyron is not a Lord," Xaen hissed. Then she raised her hand up.
A thick wave of lava rose into the air and then flowed forward toward Anansi.
Anansi spread his hands as if he was going to embrace the hot liquid, but then, his body had already begun to change.
