System Awakening Era: I Have 10x Skill Effects-Chapter 10: Aamon The Assassin
That night, Aamon chose to stay alone in the empty house. He had already reached level 2 after stealing all the contribution points from the enemies he had killed.
Even though he had managed to take all of their points and coins, for EXP Aamon only received 10% of each enemy’s total EXP.
That meant the lower the enemy’s total EXP, the smaller the percentage of EXP Aamon would gain.
However, for now, he didn’t want to think too much about it. His main focus was leveling up, obtaining valuable items and equipment, and eventually acquiring a basic class.
Using the remaining time that night, Aamon allocated the Attribute Points he had obtained into the attributes he needed the most.
For now, he would assign the largest number of Attribute Points to Constitution. With his Constitution attribute higher, Aamon no longer had to worry when using the Skill Effect 10x.
[Basic Attribute Status]
[STR: 12] [+2]
[AGI: 11] [+1]
[INT: 10]
[CON: 17] [+7]
[SPI: 10]
[AP: 0] [-10]
The attribute allocation was complete. A blue light briefly shone over his body for two to three seconds.
It was a simple sign that Aamon’s abilities and attributes had increased.
If I remember correctly, the first level increase unlocks a basic class for every survivor.
Aamon opened his personal system and focused his attention on the class section.
[System Profile:]
[Class: Select]
There was no notification about it. When Aamon opened the system, he was simply instructed to choose the class he wanted.
There were seven basic classes that Aamon could choose from.
Even though Aamon had been using a sword from the beginning, it didn’t mean he couldn’t choose a Mage, Priest, or Archer class.
[Basic Class:]
[1. Guardian (Recommended)]
[2. Knight]
[3. Assassin]
[4. Archer]
[5. Mage]
[6. Priest]
[7. Summoner]
[Note: Class order is based on compatibility between the class and the survivor’s attributes]
The system gave Aamon a recommendation based on his attribute values. His Constitution attribute was the highest, and the class that relied most on that attribute was Guardian.
Even so, his experience from the future proved that Guardian was a painful class.
They were forced to become shields for knights and mages, enduring attacks and pain to protect others.
The advanced class options from Guardian weren’t that many. The best ones were only Paladin or Berserker.
He discarded the Guardian option and focused on Knight and Assassin.
However, Aamon recalled the future, where he had once become a Dark Knight through the basic class Knight.
That choice had been made spontaneously back then, without knowing there were better classes for the current state of the world.
That class was not Guardian.
Not Knight either.
It’s time they know me as Aamon the Assassin.
Aamon raised his hand and selected the Assassin class. In his opinion, Assassin was a class that would be extremely effective in the current situation.
Assassins could perform stealth attacks and kill-and-run tactics quickly. It was perfect for a world filled with chaos.
[Congratulations! You have chosen a Basic Class]
[Class: Assassin]
[Do you want to adjust your attribute values to match the class’s recommended attributes?]
Aamon refused.
After all, his attributes already matched what he wanted. When he leveled up again later, the attributes he would focus on were only three: STR, AGI, and CON.
Of course, AGI would become the most dominant attribute to maximize critical hits.
[Congratulations! You have unlocked class skills]
[First Skill: Shadow Stealth]
[Desc: Enter a shadow state for 5 seconds. The first attack after leaving stealth deals 80% damage and 25% crit chance]
[Cooldown: 15s]
[Second Skill: Death Fang]
[Desc: Enter Stealth mode for 3 seconds, increasing speed by 70%, then attack with three diagonal slashes. If attacking from behind, damage increases by 200%]
[Cooldown: 20s]
Aamon obtained two Assassin skills, both containing stealth elements and high damage effects when attacking enemies under certain conditions.
In his opinion, these were basic skills almost every Assassin possessed.
He felt satisfied, but he couldn’t wait to test their power. He even wondered what would happen if the Assassin skills were activated using Skill Effect 10x.
The result would become terrifying.
Even though Aamon had gained new skills, he could still use First Thrust and 1000 Sword Movement.
That was because those two skills were considered regular skills.
There were two types of skills that could be learned: Class Skills and Regular Skills.
Class Skills were obtained when a survivor gained their first class. They were default skill and the same for everyone who had that class.
Regular Skills were different.
Survivors obtained them by buying them, through gacha, or from monster loot. Regular skills were not based on class, but on weapons.
If the default weapon was a sword, then the survivor would obtain sword skills. The same principle applied to other weapons.
Everyone had the same—or sometimes different—chance of obtaining regular skills, but class skills were guaranteed to be the same according to their class.
Aamon turned off the panel screen and rested.
He wasn’t on the first floor of the house but on the second floor, sitting in one of the rooms beside the window.
His attention was fixed on the city.
The deaths of the five elite members had shocked many people. The first group to realize their deaths was the Haven Faction.
They checked the items on the five bodies. However, they found nothing except cheap items.
They didn’t find the rare-tier item.
"This must be Black Shade’s doing. They’ve targeted the elite members!"
"Damn it! Do they not understand the consequences of making enemies with the Army?"
Aamon narrowed his eyes, watching their movements while listening to their conversation.
They had easily accused Black Shade of being responsible for the murders of the five elite members.
Naturally, they chose to report the incident to Jonas so the Army could deal with the issue in their own way.
Aamon clearly had no intention of interfering in their problems.
There were still no signs of movement from the All-Seven group in this city.
He didn’t know where All-Seven had begun operating and issuing commands during the early days of Trial Planet. In the past, Aamon had never hunted members of that group.
Even so, Aamon knew there were seven Apostles of All-Seven.
Four of them were military, while the rest were civilians. Their ages were relatively young—not middle-aged or elderly.
When Aamon had managed to infiltrate the All-Seven regional headquarters in Europe, he had learned about those seven Apostles.
However, only the Apostle who ruled the European Regional Headquarters was known by name.
His name was Gilbert Ashford. Apostle of Silence. Master of Intelligence. Keeper of Secrets. Eraser of Truth.
And the owner of the Magic Domain, Forgotten Sound.
According to the map I once saw, regional headquarters are where the Apostles rule.
The seven regional headquarters were located in America, Europe, Russia, Africa, India, Australia, and Hawaii.
Aamon let out a long sigh.
He realized hunting all of them could take an entire lifetime.
But if it was the only solution to end Trial Planet without sacrificing too many lives, then Aamon had to do it.
He took a deep breath and slowly exhaled.
A long journey awaited him ahead.
Aamon had to become stronger—no matter the cost.
According to his memories from the future, there were three major cities that survived and became safe havens for survivors against the monsters.
Washington D.C., New York, and Los Angeles.
Those three cities would remain standing even fifteen years into the future.
Maybe one of the All-Seven regional headquarters is among those cities.
Aamon closed the window curtains.
That day, he needed to determine his next destination.
The closest options were Washington or New York.
If the regional headquarters weren’t there, then whether he liked it or not, Aamon would have to go to the West Coast—and that would take a long time.
"I should go to the Army headquarters and gather information about the current situation in those three cities."
