Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 77: Breaking the Siege
"Look, every month you only make less than a thousand yuan, I bet even having three meals a day is a struggle. You do the math yourself." Manager Warren noticed Moira Young completely ignored him, feeling thwarted, he didn’t want to let it go just like that.
The most important thing is that everyone seemed to be waiting to see him make a fool of himself. If he really couldn’t handle Moira Young, wouldn’t he truly become a joke?
"Manager Warren, can’t you see the girl isn’t paying attention to you? Julian came to the company today for some unknown reason, which means there’s definitely something big about to happen. Why don’t you go eavesdrop through the door if you’re curious? What’s the point of pestering her here? Aren’t you afraid Julian will hear you’re blatantly forcing a girl during work hours!" The female colleague at the reception couldn’t help but speak up, feeling Moira was young and wanting to say a few words for her.
Moira Young cast a grateful glance over.
"You just play with your phone during work hours, not doing anything proper all day long. Do you believe I’ll fire you?" Furious and embarrassed, Manager Warren pointed angrily at the female colleague’s nose, then turned to curse at Moira Young, "I’ve seen many college students like you. Isn’t it just because you think you’re not paid enough! I—"
"Mr. Warren, shut up!" President Lee’s angry voice came from behind, and everyone turned their eyes over.
Julian Sinclair’s cold and tall figure stood out amongst the group of small fry, his exquisite and flawless features were like ice sculptures, indifferent, and from his pitch-black eyes emanated chilling mist, which gradually revealed a trace of murderous intent.
He looked at Manager Warren with aggression, and just that one glance, 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
was enough to make the lustful coward tremble.
Julian Sinclair was angry.
The girl he cherished in his heart for nine years was being humiliated here because of him.
Ultimately, he’s angry with himself.
Manager Warren’s legs started shaking upon seeing Julian Sinclair like this. He was only so brazenly harassing the female college students because he had a family relation with President Lee. Now Julian Sinclair saw it with his own eyes, President Lee probably can’t save him...
"Get the hell aside! Don’t block Julian’s way!" President Lee turned red with anger, his eyes continuously signaling Manager Warren to quickly retreat, even anxiously using gestures behind his back.
"S-sorry, Julian! I’ll get out right away!" Manager Warren’s face turned ashen with fear, about to turn and run.
Unexpectedly, Butler Liu stopped him.
"You think you can leave after making a mistake?" Butler Liu gestured for the people behind him to hold Manager Warren down.
Seeing things were getting serious, Manager Warren, who already had little brains, panicked with fear and roared loudly, "I was just reprimanding my subordinate during work hours, what’s wrong with that!"
"That Moira Young, she didn’t watch her step and bumped into Julian. I was just scolding her to go apologize to him!"
President Lee broke out in cold sweat, but due to family ties, he gritted his teeth and added a couple of sentences, "Julian, you’re magnanimous, Manager Warren was just thinking of you. How about you let it go this time, and I’ll have the new girl apologize to you."
After speaking, he turned and changed his expression, pointing at Moira Young, "You! Quickly come over and apologize to Julian!"
Moira Young wouldn’t do it; she wasn’t the one who should apologize!
President Lee saw Moira Young stubbornly not moving, and being helpless, he approached trying to drag her out from the reception, but just as he reached out to touch Moira Young’s arm, someone kicked him hard from the side!
President Lee fell on his butt to the ground, all employees were shocked watching this scene, unclear of what was happening.
"Get out." Julian Sinclair’s low, icy voice seemed to come from a hellish demon, intimidating everyone.
The crowd dared not breathe loudly, exchanging glances and pondering whether Moira Young had something to do with Julian Sinclair.
Julian Sinclair didn’t like this place or its people. He glanced at Moira Young, "Come with me."
After speaking, he walked a couple of steps toward the main door, then stopped and turned around when he didn’t hear any movement behind him. Julian Sinclair lightly furrowed his exquisite brows.
He understood Moira Young’s character too well, guessing that she wouldn’t come with him, but Julian Sinclair was already very unhappy; he wouldn’t allow Moira Young to work in such an environment.
"Walk on your own, or I’ll carry you out." Julian Sinclair’s lips curved into a tantalizing smile, his first smile in more than half a month.
Only such shameless tactics could make her obediently follow.
Moira Young’s eyes showed a trace of panic; how could she possibly be willing to let Julian Sinclair carry her out!
Thinking it over, without any better option, she reluctantly followed Julian Sinclair out of the company.
Butler Liu opened the car door for Moira Young, who hesitated to get in. Seeing Julian Sinclair’s car reminded her of what he did to her last time...
Her face started to blush, the scene replaying in her mind, the more she thought about it, the more embarrassed she felt.
Julian Sinclair guessed the reason she was dawdling about getting in the car and blushing, knowing she was afraid he would do something to her again, he signaled Butler Liu to sit in the front passenger seat. With someone in the car, she wouldn’t be afraid anymore.
"Whatever you have to say, say it here." Moira Young still refused to get in.
"Get in the car." Julian Sinclair’s commanding tone left her no room.
"I won’t—"
Julian Sinclair promptly picked her up, put her into the car, and leaned over, almost touching his mouth to Moira Young’s.
"Behave yourse".
Those two words he seldom said to Moira Young over the years, because Moira Young was always obedient and well-behaved in the Sinclair family. Julian Sinclair asked her to go west; she definitely wouldn’t go east.
Subconsciously, Moira Young would listen to Julian Sinclair. Even though she really hated him now, as soon as Julian Sinclair softened his tone and even showed some indulgence, she couldn’t resist and would obediently listen.
She always warned herself against this feeling of being controlled by Julian Sinclair, but deep down, there was always a contradiction.
Suddenly, a unique engine sound echoed, followed by a drift that stopped beside Julian Sinclair’s car.
Heath Sterling got out of the car displeased, chewing gum.
He looked at Julian Sinclair, speaking defiantly, "I’ve seen you before, and if I’m not mistaken, you’re Moira’s Uncle, right?"
"Oh, sorry, I said it wrong. You’re not her Uncle anymore."
Julian Sinclair’s face turned grim, Moira Young seized the moment to get out from the other side of the car, circled around the car, and got into Heath Sterling’s car.
She pretended to be calm on the surface, but upon entering, she started taking deep breaths repeatedly, facing forward without daring to look back, afraid to meet Julian Sinclair’s fiery eyes again.
Moira Young feared Julian Sinclair’s anger, always has, and still does.
Julian Sinclair didn’t take Heath Sterling seriously, not even giving him a proper glance. In his view, Heath Sterling was just a young boy.
Heath Sterling took Moira Young back to school, continually probing about what happened earlier along the way.
As they neared the girls’ dormitory building, Moira Young hadn’t uttered a word.
"Moira, are you going to work tomorrow?" Heath Sterling parked and asked, pondering his thoughts. Although he wanted to say Julian Sinclair knew she worked there and she shouldn’t go, she wasn’t short of money. However, the words transformed upon reaching his mouth.
"I am." Moira Young hesitated, uncertain inside, but it was only her first day at work; how could she just give up now?
Remembering her first failed job at the BBQ restaurant as a waitress, she vowed to survive independently without Julian Sinclair. She couldn’t afford to lose this job.
Moreover, she believed Julian Sinclair was generally very busy and only had time after dinner; she would finish work before dinner tomorrow, so she wouldn’t see him.
"How about I accompany you tomorrow?" Heath Sterling asked with squinting eyes, "I’m afraid that guy might come find you again."
"No, don’t worry. He won’t come." Moira Young insisted Julian Sinclair definitely wouldn’t come.
