Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 54: Prelude
His eyes moved away from Moira Young’s face with closed eyes, and through the gap in the curtains, he looked out at the rainy night, blurred and lonely.
"Moira, I’ll take you somewhere tomorrow." The faint words seemed somewhat ethereal, but inside it felt like standing on a battlefield full of blood.
The feeling was like personally tearing out his own heart and then ruthlessly throwing it on the ground, blurred with blood and flesh, leaving only numbness after intense pain.
He finally spoke out...
Moira Young softly nodded to indicate that she understood. In Julian Sinclair’s embrace, she always felt so secure, greedily absorbing the comforting scent from Julian until she gradually fell asleep.
When she woke up the next day, Julian Sinclair was no longer in bed.
——
Julian Sinclair’s office.
Julian Sinclair took the sealed bag handed over by Butler Liu, which contained the paternity test for Arthur Whitman and Moira Young, as well as information about Moira Young’s biological mother.
"All the information has been digitized. This is the backup USB drive; another one has already been taken to the site." Butler Liu took out the USB drive, inserted it into the computer, and played it for Julian Sinclair.
"Hmm."
Julian Sinclair had never given up on his plan, not even a thought.
The root of his pain was only that Moira Young would be hurt, and in the future, she would hate him.
Time passed by the minute, and there was half an hour left before the interview started.
Julian Sinclair stood up from the sofa, straightened his sleeves, and his eyes were filled with determination. He now had to enter the battlefield; after planning for so long, he absolutely couldn’t fail.
"Go pick up Moira Young and send her directly there."
"Yes, Young Master." Butler Liu couldn’t hide his excitement seeing the young master’s imminent success.
Butler Liu sent someone to pick up Moira Young from home and then hurried to the interview site.
Julian Sinclair’s car parked at a distance by the roadside, and he didn’t intend to get out, just sitting there quietly.
He gently closed his eyes, waiting for news. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
Moira Young was sent into the site. Seeing some reporters entering one after another, she felt a bit scared, as she had never witnessed such a scene before.
Just as she wanted to ask the driver who brought her in, in a blink, the driver was gone.
Looking around, Moira Young found that Julian Sinclair was not there. Feeling somewhat upset, she pouted, really not understanding why she was brought to such a place!
She turned around to leave, but was squeezed back by others, and someone impatiently scolded, "Why are you squeezing, everyone had a hard time getting in, just sit down quietly!"
Moira Young felt a bit embarrassed as she looked at the crowd behind desperately trying to get in, feeling too embarrassed to leave.
With no choice, she just casually found a spot to sit.
"Thank you all for coming." The stage lights gradually brightened, and the large screen at the back showed videos and photos of Arthur Whitman doing charity work and teaching in rural areas, "Today, everyone, don’t hold back, feel free to ask any questions, and there’s a one-minute countdown before the live broadcast starts. Let’s welcome Arthur Whitman, Mr. Whitman, and his family!"
Moira Young was originally restless, but as soon as she saw it was Arthur Whitman, she became somewhat interested. She had only seen him on TV and magazines, never in person.
All the reporters in the audience scrambled to pick up their cameras, and there were several tall cameras at the side of the stage. Moira Young couldn’t help but smile and lean forward with curiosity.
The live broadcast across the nation began.
All the reporters couldn’t wait to ask questions, Arthur Whitman smiled, looking kindly at them, randomly choosing a person.
"Please." His speaking speed was very slow, giving a comforting and amiable feeling.
"Mr. Whitman, has it been difficult for you to maintain the image of a perfect man over the years?"
Arthur Whitman thought for a moment and replied, "I don’t think I am a perfect man, thank you all for the flattering praise. I want to clarify that I never deliberately maintained that title; I merely do what I can for those unfortunate children."
"It is said that you have always maintained your original intentions towards your family, despite the temptations outside. As a man, how do you manage that?"
"As a man, naturally, I must protect and love my wife. I love my wife very much. Without her silent support behind me, I wouldn’t be who I am today."
Everyone in the audience listened to him speak with respect.
