Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 53: Consolation
In fact, when she dared to ask, she was ninety-nine percent sure that Julian Sinclair had adopted her without any ulterior motives, but there was still that one percent of uncertainty that frightened her.
For Moira Young, what reason could someone as significant as Julian Sinclair have to adopt her? What value could a child without parents possibly offer?
Julian Sinclair’s dark eyes suddenly avoided hers, and the entire room was filled with oppressive and dark atmosphere.
"Why did you suddenly ask this?" Julian Sinclair pretended not to react, speaking in a casual tone as if just chatting.
"Nothing, I just suddenly felt like asking." Moira Young was so nervous even a single hair was trembling, she eagerly awaited Julian Sinclair’s answer but dared not fully relax.
"Silly girl, from now on don’t listen to the nonsense Fiona Rhodes tells you." Julian Sinclair’s heart was gripped tightly, causing immense pain as he spoke, but he had to maintain a calm demeanor.
Moira Young breathed a little easier at the mention of Fiona Rhodes, immediately recalling the moments when Fiona deliberately made things difficult for her. Her beautiful brows furrowed and she looked at Julian Sinclair with big, watery eyes, saying timidly, "Uncle, will she continue to live here?"
Julian Sinclair affectionately patted her head, "Since you don’t like her, then she won’t stay here."
"But she is your girlfriend... It’s not really good for you to treat her this way because of me..."
"I’ll send her away right now." Julian Sinclair couldn’t bear to see Moira Young’s aggrieved little face.
Just for tonight, no matter what, he wanted Moira Young to be unhappy.
The last night, he wanted to be alone with her.
Julian Sinclair went downstairs without saying a word, grabbed Fiona Rhodes’ arm and walked her out.
"Hey! Julian Sinclair! Where are you taking me?" Fiona Rhodes hadn’t yet reacted to what was happening, utterly puzzled, looking at Julian Sinclair’s expression, he didn’t seem angry, what’s going on!
"You’re hurting me! You—" before she could finish speaking, Julian Sinclair threw her into the passenger seat and got into the car himself.
"I have so many properties, take your pick." Julian Sinclair gestured for Butler Liu to bring in a list of properties, complete with pictures and addresses.
Fiona Rhodes finally understood he was sending her out, "I’m living here, I’m not going anywhere!"
"Julian Sinclair, I’m your girlfriend, is it right for you to treat me like this!"
"You’re doing this for a little kid—"
Julian Sinclair suddenly leaned over from the driver’s seat, supporting himself with his left hand, almost pressing on her.
"You know me, can’t you be a bit more sensible?" Julian Sinclair was already filled with anger inside, but he forced himself to hold back, unable to show it.
Fiona Rhodes was startled by his sudden move, her head was flushed with his charming, noble aura, without even thinking, she replied, "Then kiss me."
Julian Sinclair’s left hand supporting behind her head burst with veins, his eyes gradually moved to Fiona Rhodes’ lips and then bit down hard.
Fiona Rhodes liked his roughness, and was just about to raise her arms to wrap around his neck but he pushed her away.
"Alright, pick a place to stay first, I’ll come to accompany you after I’ve finished being busy these few days." Julian Sinclair started the car, stepped on the gas, not giving Fiona Rhodes a chance to object.
"Hey, my suitcase is still upstairs!" Fiona Rhodes was startled by Julian Sinclair’s driving skills and immediately reacted.
"Someone will send it to you."
"No, I want to buy it again." Fiona Rhodes chose a house with a decor style she liked.
Julian Sinclair said nothing the entire way, delivered her to the place without even stepping out, then rushed back.
At this point, being able to spend even one more second alone with Moira Young was a luxury.
The sky began to rain gradually, Moira Young lay in bed playing with her phone, when suddenly a lightning strike made her hand tremble and nearly drop her phone, she hurriedly climbed out of bed to close the curtains.
It had been a long time since there was thunder and lightning, she went downstairs to wait for Julian Sinclair, just in time to see him enter the foyer.
"Uncle, there was just lightning right outside the window, it was so close..." Moira Young descended the stairs sweetly, whining, "Super scary..."
Julian Sinclair approached and picked her up, "Alright, tonight I’ll sleep with you."
Moira Young looked at him excitedly, she had only been setting the stage, hadn’t yet expressed her true purpose, "Really?"
"Of course." Julian Sinclair tapped her little nose and carried her back to the bedroom.
"Moira, when there’s thunder and lightning in the future, you need to learn to overcome this fear, I won’t be by your side every day, understand?" Julian Sinclair was already exhausted these days, but he couldn’t bear to shut his eyes.
Because once he closed them, all the past would turn to ashes, all happiness and beauty would be mere illusions.
Moira Young snuggled into Julian Sinclair’s embrace with a smile on her lips, "I want to be with Uncle forever, that’s my biggest wish."
Julian Sinclair tightened his hold on her arm, his voice low and a bit hoarse: "Hmm, it’s my wish too."
