Chapter 50: Chapter 50: Left Speechless

Fiona Rhodes didn’t expect her to talk back like that. After all, she’d only met Moira Young twice, and she seemed like someone easygoing and obedient. Who knew she’d actually retort?

"So, are you going to do it or not?" Fiona raised her chin. She had been pampered and protected by her two elder brothers since childhood, never bullied or afraid of anyone, let alone this little girl.

Moira Young frowned. She could sense the threat in Fiona’s tone. This was her home, where she’d always lived; why should a stranger suddenly come in and boss her around? Why?

Moira just stood there, neither moving nor leaving,

deliberately holding her ground against her.

"Seeing that expression on your face, you’re not planning to move?" Fiona stood up from the sofa. "I really don’t know how Julian Sinclair raised such an insolent child. Since he can’t teach you, I’ll do it for him!"

Her aura gradually closed in as she stepped towards Moira.

Moira felt a tinge of fear inside, but she refused to back down. She hadn’t intended to see Fiona as an enemy; she simply didn’t want to have any interactions with her. But Fiona insisted on clashing with her.

"First of all, you have no right to look at me that way." Fiona had always been the center of attention and couldn’t stand Moira’s aggressive gaze, which made her very angry.

"Secondly, while I don’t know why Julian Sinclair adopted you, every step he takes is meticulously planned. Even I might just be a part of one of his plans." Fiona’s lips curled in a disdainful smile, arms crossed, looking down at Moira. "But at least I grew up with him, we have love between us."

"But you’re different." Fiona looked at Moira as if watching a joke. "Have you ever wondered why he adopted you?"

"Have you ever thought about what role you play in his plans?"

Moira clenched her teeth tightly; she didn’t believe a word this woman said!

She was clearly just trying to sow discord!

"I don’t want to hear anything you have to say!"

Fiona saw she had hit a nerve and felt a bit smug. In her eyes, Moira was just a domesticated bunny, with aggressive eyes but ultimately just posturing, completely unable to withstand any blows.

What could a child possibly use to fight against her!

"You don’t have to listen to me, just wait for him to come back and ask him yourself." Fiona’s expression grew increasingly smug as she extended a finger to harshly poke Moira’s shoulder.

"Some people aren’t meant for you to dream about having." Her eyes flashed fiercely, "Never think you can compete with me!"

"Don’t touch me!" Moira instinctively shouted, her shoulder stinging from the poke, frowning and stepping aside.

"Ha! A bit of a temper, huh? Julian Sinclair sure has spoiled you, hasn’t he?" Fiona glared at her, just about to raise her hand to strike.

"Miss Rhodes, your luggage has been placed in the room. You must be tired after your long journey, why don’t you go upstairs and rest?" Mrs. Miller spoke calmly, though she was really scared inside, afraid of what would happen if Fiona actually slapped Moira.

Fiona rolled her eyes disdainfully, lowering her hand, and deliberately dragged out her words, "I am tired, some people are just too hard to teach."

Then she lazily stretched and went upstairs.

Moira watched her strut away, as if she owned the place, declaring her territory with each step. Fiona probably did that on purpose to show her!

But Fiona had just gotten upstairs when she came back to the stairwell with an upset look, "Mrs. Miller, where did you put my luggage? Why isn’t it in Julian’s room?"

"In the first guest room around the corner to the south. That room is big, well-ventilated, and sunny, the best room in the house." Mrs. Miller replied at a leisurely pace, "Miss Rhodes, you’re a guest, naturally you should stay in the best room."

Fiona’s face fell instantly. She never considered herself a guest; she was supposed to be the future mistress of the house!

"Miss Rhodes, are you not satisfied with the room? But there aren’t any other rooms available..." Mrs. Miller pretended to think hard, "How about I ask the young master to book you a nice hotel?"

"No need!" Fiona, thwarted, stormed back into her room.
