Chapter 46: Chapter 46: Provocation

During the entire summer vacation, Moira Young spent her time indulging in her hobbies. By the time she received her acceptance letter from Arden University, it was almost time for the new school term to begin.

Throughout the summer, Carter Porter invited her out several times, but Julian Sinclair rejected him each time. With the new term approaching, Moira Young felt it would not be nice to keep rejecting him.

"Uncle, please let me go out just this once, will you?" Moira Young clung to Julian Sinclair like a koala, having spent most of the past two months stuck to him, unwilling to leave.

Moira Young looked at Julian Sinclair with hopeful eyes. Strangely, his workload had been particularly light in the past two months, allowing him to stay home every day and accompany her, which she didn’t mind at all since she wanted to be with him every moment.

Julian Sinclair flipped a page of the magazine in his hand and replied indifferently, "No."

"Why not... I would just go out for a little while, just a little while..." Moira Young extended her fingers, squinting to visually measure a small amount.

Just then, the doorbell rang.

Moira Young had not expected to hear the Sinclair family’s doorbell ring in her lifetime; the place was so large and remote that unless one specifically came to find Julian Sinclair, there wouldn’t be visitors.

Curiously, she stood up from the sofa and walked over.

As the door opened, the light in Moira Young’s eyes gradually turned vague. The person standing before her wore a luxurious dress and carried a globally limited edition bag.

Even though such things were not considered expensive to Moira Young, given that she also possessed them, the woman in front of her somehow always brought a sense of pressure.

Fiona Rhodes raised her chin and didn’t bother to look at Moira Young, directly pushing her luggage at her before walking inside.

Moira Young stood frozen, staring at the suitcase in her hands, dazed for a long time.

"Surprise—!"

"Why are you here?" Julian Sinclair’s brows furrowed slightly. His immediate reaction was not to look at Fiona Rhodes but to glance at Moira Young, who stood with her back to him in the foyer, making her expression unreadable.

"What, you don’t want me to be here?" Fiona Rhodes walked to the sofa, casually settling in as if it were her home, then sat directly beside Julian Sinclair without saying another word.

"I’m exhausted." She glanced around before fixing her gaze on Moira Young. "Moira, could you pour me a glass of water?"

Moira Young pushed the suitcase inside, leaving it to one side of the foyer, then moved to the open-plan kitchen to pour her a glass of water.

She didn’t hand it directly to her but placed it on the table, not wanting any interaction with her.

Fiona Rhodes shot her a glance discreetly, then put the cup down before it even reached her lips, smiling as she spoke, "Moira, could you change it to warm water? Women drinking cold water can lead to uterine cold and infertility."

Moira Young stood aside, restraining herself. She knew this woman was Julian Sinclair’s girlfriend, but she just didn’t like her.

As she spoke, she clung to Julian Sinclair’s arm, her face full of affection, "Julian, don’t you agree?"

Julian Sinclair did not lift his gaze, focusing intently on the magazine until Fiona Rhodes lightly nudged him.

"No idea." Those two simple words reflected his indifferent attitude.

Fiona Rhodes felt a bit displeased. When they were alone, Julian’s attitude or reaction was not important, but with Moira Young present, she needed him to show that he truly loved her.

"Two months without seeing each other, did you miss me?" Fiona Rhodes encircled Julian Sinclair’s neck, putting in a bit of effort, almost closing the five-centimeter gap between them for a kiss.
