Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 317: Scolded
However, as soon as Julian Sinclair left the hospital, Aiden Webb blocked his way.
Impatiently furrowing his brow, he asked, "What’s wrong?"
"Julian Sinclair, what exactly is your intention?" Aiden Webb’s face remained icy, his tone cold.
Julian pursed his thin lips; not wanting to get entangled with Aiden, he lifted his foot intending to leave.
To his dismay, Aiden was relentless and grabbed Julian’s wrist as he tried to leave, the scene reminiscent of their previous encounter at the hospital’s entrance.
"Tell me, Moira’s identity."
Julian didn’t expect Aiden to be so persistent, repeatedly inquiring about Moira Young’s identity, which was a point of irritation.
"You know? You know Moira’s identity?" Though phrased as a question, Aiden’s tone was affirmative, as if he was sure Julian knew everything.
But he didn’t understand why Julian was so unwilling to reveal the truth. Letting Moira acknowledge her lineage was beneficial to everyone, so why the resistance?
What was the hidden story behind this?
Yet Julian was inscrutable; Aiden couldn’t read anything from his expression or eyes.
However, Aiden was not content to let it go without extracting some information from Julian.
Being gripped tightly by the wrist, Julian appeared displeased: "Zachary Winslow, do you really think just because you belong to the Winslow family, I can’t deal with you?"
"Yes." Aiden replied fearlessly.
"Move." Julian flung Aiden’s hand aside and turned to leave.
"Julian Sinclair, if she has nothing to do with me, why do we have the same blood type?"
"That’s just a coincidence. Must everyone in the world with the same blood type be brother and sister?"
Julian’s eyes carried a mocking expression, and without saying more, he got in the car and left the hospital.
As for Aiden, he didn’t linger either. It was only after both of them left that a tall figure slowly emerged.
That shadow entered the hospital, familiar with the way, and arrived at Moira Young’s ward door. Through the glass window, he saw Moira sitting on the hospital bed, a hint of distress flickering in his eyes.
"Moira..."
"Since you’re here, why not go in?" a familiar voice came from behind, nearly startling Heath Sterling into a jump.
He turned around to see Carter Porter with his infuriatingly charming smile.
Heath patted his chest, lowered his voice, "What are you doing here?"
"Whatever you’re here for, I’m here for the same reason. Why is your question so stupid?" Heath replied, giving Carter an elbow.
"Then since you’re here, why not go in?" Carter clutched his chest, appearing pained, unable to understand. "There’s no one inside now, just Moira and her assistant; if you want to see her, go on."
Heath remained silent for a while, then spoke slowly, "I don’t want to cause her any trouble."
Carter shook his head, sighing, "Buddy, I’m telling you, if you truly like her, go for it. Look at you now, you think Moira will marry that Sinclair and have a child calling you godfather?"
"..."
"I’m saying, if you like her, chase after her. What if Moira changes her mind?" Carter stroked his chin, eyeing Heath up and down, "You come from a good family, look nice too, so why be so timid?"
Heath fell into silence again.
"Say something," Carter nudged Heath’s shoulder, lowering his voice. "If you’re determined, I’ll definitely help you."
"Her heart’s not with me." Heath’s eyes darkened suddenly, seeing for himself Moira’s feelings for Julian Sinclair.
He didn’t want to disrupt her life, didn’t want to cause her sadness or pain because of him. If he truly loved her, he should let her go.
Carter didn’t care what Heath was thinking; he couldn’t comprehend his actions. If you like someone, you should pursue them. What’s wrong with that?
Besides, back in school, Moira had feelings for Heath. If it weren’t for that Sinclair interfering, they might already be together.
Ultimately, it was all Julian Sinclair’s fault.
Carter gritted his teeth in hatred, "If not for Julian Sinclair, you and Moira would have been together long ago, and yet you still consider him. Are you crazy?"
"I’m not considering him; I’m thinking about Moira." Seeing Carter’s emotions flare up, Heath quickly pulled him away from the ward to a corner by the entrance.
"Since you’re thinking about Moira, go get her back," Carter suggested again.
"Don’t meddle in my affairs," Heath frowned, unwilling to heed Carter’s advice.
Carter was displeased, raising his eyelids and glaring at him incredulously, "Heath, I’m doing this for your own good! Fine, if you don’t want me to interfere, don’t come asking for help when you’re in trouble."
With that, Carter made to leave. Heath grabbed his shoulder, whispering, "I didn’t mean it like that."
Carter wasn’t truly angry with Heath, just frustrated with his inaction. Such a great opportunity lay ahead, yet he didn’t seize it. Wasn’t that foolish?
"Heath, think carefully. Whether Moira agrees or not is her decision, but whether you pursue her is yours. Don’t wait until you’re too old to regret it."
Heath pursed his lips, taking a long time, before finally saying, "Thank you, Carter, but I have my own ideas."
"Forget it, you’re hopeless." Carter said, stuffing the gift in Heath’s hand with a roll of his eyes, "I’m leaving now. Please help me deliver this gift."
Before Heath could say another word, Carter was already racing down the stairs and out of sight.
Heath hesitated with the gift in his hand, but in the end, gathered the courage to knock on Moira Young’s ward door.
At the instant Heath appeared, Moira’s eyes brightened.
Joe quickly reminded her, "Moira, remember what I just told you! So soon you’ve forgotten?"
At Joe’s words, Moira immediately restrained herself, controlling her expression significantly. She curled her lips slightly, eyes filled with a starlight-like brilliance, "Heath, why are you here?"
"I came to see how you’re doing. Is everything alright?" Heath tried to act as naturally as possible, his demeanor giving nothing away.
Moira hadn’t thought much about it; seeing him again already made her happy. This meant Heath wasn’t holding a grudge, otherwise, he wouldn’t come personally to see her.
"I’m doing well. The doctor said with proper rest, I should be discharged soon. But enough about me, how about you? Carter mentioned your mom’s been giving you trouble again. Are you alright?"
Heath’s mother was known for her bad temper and being unreasonable. Just thinking about her gave Moira a headache, and her eyes were full of worry for Heath.
Heath, however, shrugged it off with a smile, "No matter what, she’s still my mom. She won’t do anything to me."
"That’s true." Moira awkwardly pulled a smile and asked, "But Carter said your mom locked you up; how did you get out?"
Because if you sneaked out and got caught, you’d inevitably be scolded. Although the scolding might not be aimed at Heath, but at her.
