Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 304: Watching the Show
This is for the best; only then will she be fully committed to helping them deal with Julian Sinclair.
"Fiona, now that you’re back, I suppose you’ve thought things through." Mr. Rhodes sat on the leather sofa, holding a fine cigar, looking at Fiona Rhodes with a meaningful gaze.
Fiona’s eyes showed no emotion, only deep hatred for Julian Sinclair: "Father, I’ve thought about it all night and finally realized that Julian Sinclair is not the right man for me."
"It’s good you’ve come to see that. Julian is cunning and manipulates you at will, you should’ve turned back sooner." Mr. Rhodes was even more pleased seeing the hatred in her eyes.
"Father, I have obtained evidence. See if it’s useful." Fiona took out a crumpled medical record from her bag and handed it to Mr. Rhodes.
Mr. Rhodes glanced at it and then smiled slightly: "Well done. With this medical record, it will be much easier to topple Julian from the Sinclair family."
"Father, what do you mean by that?" Fiona was puzzled, his tone suggested he had plans against Julian all along.
"Silly girl, I intended to keep this from you, but now that you’ve realized the truth, I might as well tell you."
Mr. Rhodes gestured to Fiona, "Come with me to the study."
Fiona obediently followed him to the study, where the father and daughter closed the door and began their secretive talk.
Soon after, Fiona gasped, showing an expression of disgust: "Dad, I have no objection to dealing with Julian now, but how can you use my marriage as a bargaining chip?"
Mr. Rhodes replied earnestly, "Fiona, Zayne Sinclair may be less impressive than Julian, but he’s much easier to control. If you’re willing to marry him, he will be at your disposal with his temperament, won’t he?"
"But... "
"That young man isn’t lacking in looks or competence, and he is the only one in the Sinclair family who can stand up to Julian. Marrying him not only greatly benefits you but also our family."
"I don’t like him."
Despite Mr. Rhodes’ extensive persuasion, Fiona was still resistant.
She knew Zayne Sinclair, having seen him many times at the Sinclair family home. She knew what kind of person he was.
Seeing Fiona’s refusal to agree, Mr. Rhodes continued to gently persuade.
"Stop thinking about Julian; there’s no possible future between you two. Zayne is truly your best match. Once he gains our family’s support and secures the Sinclair Group’s inheritance, you’ll be the sole mistress of the Sinclair family."
The sole mistress of the Sinclair family?
The title of mistress held significant weight for Fiona. She once dreamed of marrying Julian, willing to sacrifice everything for the title of the young madam of the Sinclairs.
Now, as long as she marries Zayne, she might even become the only mistress of the Sinclair family.
This title had a deadly allure for someone like her, who desperately wished to marry into the Sinclair family.
If she could truly become the Sinclair Group’s mistress, how differently would Julian regard her then?
Thinking of this, Fiona’s heart wavered. She was almost eager to see Julian’s look of regret, would he not be like a dog wagging his tail pleadingly at her side after losing everything?
"Fiona, take your time to think it over." Mr. Rhodes did not intend to pressure her. He believed his daughter was smart enough to understand the benefits of marrying Zayne without him having to say much.
Inside her mind, Fiona was torn; although tempted, she did not immediately agree.
Alone in her room, she sat on the soft bed, recalling every moment with Julian. Now that she had clarity, the past seemed different.
She once thought Julian loved her, enabling her recklessness.
In retrospect, his gaze never held affection, sometimes even impatience. Though he never pushed her away, there was never any emotion in his eyes.
Viewing everything from an omniscient perspective, she finally realized everything was just as her father said—he was using her.
"Julian Sinclair, since you’re heartless to me, don’t blame me for being disloyal to you!" Fiona fiercely clutched the bedsheet, her eyes filled with hatred for Julian.
The next day, she went to Mr. Rhodes’ study to state her position.
"Dad, let’s postpone the marriage for now; I think we can first use Julian’s amnesia to our advantage."
Mr. Rhodes had the same thought, and when she proposed it, he applauded: "That’s my daughter, thinking just like I did."
"Your brother and I plan to use his amnesia as leverage to help Zayne gain control of the operations in the China region while catching Julian off guard." 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
Fiona’s eyes brightened: "Once Zayne controls the operations, his power will be significantly weakened, making it much easier to deal with him."
"Exactly, the Sinclair Group’s supply chain is extensive, with Asia under Julian’s control. China holds the largest shares; if we can make him lose control there, pulling him down elsewhere becomes less difficult."
Mr. Rhodes gave a slight nod, agreeing with Fiona’s analysis.
"So what are we waiting for? Let’s contact Zayne right away." Fiona could hardly wait to see Julian’s desolate state, given his betrayal and disdain for her.
She longed to see Julian kneeling before her, admitting his errors.
"This matter requires careful planning; there’s no rush." Mr. Rhodes was not impulsive, always seeking perfection in his actions.
Without a decisive move, they would only alert the foe.
Unfortunately, Fiona didn’t understand this; she only knew to strike when an opportunity arose, offering no chance for their prey to retaliate.
"Dad, what planning is needed? Julian’s amnesia is confirmed; there’s no reason to hesitate—just inform Zayne of the situation and let him handle it."
"You mean to... "
"Dad, haven’t you gone senile? Though we’ve agreed to ally with Zayne against Julian, Zayne is more eager than we are to see Julian dethroned, isn’t he?"
"Indeed, that’s true." Mr. Rhodes nodded.
Fiona cracked a cold smile: "In that case, even without our support, Zayne as Julian’s rival will still work to his detriment. So now that we have a head start, just provide him some aid, and he will seize every chance to tackle Julian."
Upon hearing Fiona’s rationale, Mr. Rhodes had a sudden realization: "You suggest letting the two brothers fight it out?"
