Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 297: Outing
She took out her phone and kept dialing Adrian Grant’s number, but no matter how many times she called, Adrian seemed not to hear, with no reaction at all.
Moira Young grew pale with anxiety, and could only knock on the door repeatedly.
Who knew that while Adrian wasn’t awakened, her actions disturbed the hotel staff who were taking a nap in a nearby chamber.
"Miss, is there anything I can help you with?" Seeing her anxious look, the staff asked considerately.
When Moira Young saw someone coming, she suddenly thought of something and then clenched the phone in her hand, "Hello, the gentleman I’m staying with has been unreachable since this morning. Could you please let me view the surveillance footage?"
"Miss, what is your room number?"
"1704"
"Ah, you’re talking about that gentleman, I think I might know where he is."
"You know?" Moira’s pupils shrank slightly.
"Yes, I was just cleaning my resting area when your gentleman happened to walk by. I heard him on the phone, saying he had some business to discuss, and then he left in a hurry."
After hearing the staff’s explanation, Moira Young felt even more anxious instead of relieved. She grabbed the staff and asked urgently, "Did he say anything else?"
"He didn’t seem to say anything else, but it appeared he didn’t go downstairs. He should be on this floor." The staff scratched his head apologetically, "But I didn’t see clearly, so I’m not sure."
Moira Young frowned, managed a smile, and thanked him, "Thank you."
"You’re welcome, it’s my pleasure to help you." The staff, seeing that Moira Young still looked worried, comforted her, "He probably hasn’t left the hotel. If you want to find him, you might need to knock on each door and ask."
"No need, it’s alright, I’ll wait for him in the room."
Moira Young bid farewell to the staff and didn’t continue to search for Julian Sinclair, but returned to the room instead.
If it really was as the staff said, then she believed Julian Sinclair would come back soon. If he had left the hotel on his own accord, with his capability, nothing should happen to him.
Unable to find him, Moira Young could only comfort herself like this.
For some reason, ever since the last bungee jumping, her mindset had changed somewhat, and her innate reliance on Julian Sinclair seemed to have returned.
Having woken up too late to catch lunch, she could only munch on the fruit Julian Sinclair had bought to fill her stomach.
As she waited and waited, two hours passed by quietly.
Moira Young sat idly on the sofa watching TV, but her eyes would occasionally dart to the door. Why hasn’t he come back after so long?
What kind of business could take so long to discuss?
Just when she was feeling troubled, she suddenly heard the door beep.
The next second, a tall figure appeared before her eyes, and when she saw who it was, the smile on her lips dropped.
"Oh, it’s Adrian." Moira Young sighed softly, disappointment flickering in her eyes.
"What? Your face changed so quickly because it’s not your Uncle? Am I really that unwelcome?" Adrian Grant was amused by her expression.
Moira Young shook her head and quietly explained, "Uncle went somewhere and hasn’t returned for such a long time."
"He’s taking care of business, he’ll probably be back soon. Are you hungry? Want me to take you to eat something first?" Adrian suggested with a smile, seeing the half-eaten peach in front of Moira Young.
However, Moira Young looked at him suspiciously, "How do you know what Uncle is doing? And for just a business talk, why would it take so long? Honestly, are you two hiding something from me?"
"Silly girl, how could there be anything we’re hiding from you? It’s just that your Uncle happened to run into a business partner on vacation, so they chatted a bit." Adrian laughed brightly, his charming eyes devoid of any telltale emotions.
Moira Young still didn’t believe him but couldn’t find any flaws, so she could only frown, "Are you sure you’re not lying to me?"
Adrian immediately raised his hand to swear, "If I’m lying to you, may I never have a woman accompany me in this life."
"Alright, I will trust you for now." For other men, not having a woman might be trivial, but for Adrian Grant, this was truly a serious oath.
"See, that’s more like it. What do you want to eat? Brother Adrian will take you now."
"Hotpot."
"Something more practical."
"How about BBQ then?"
"Alright, go change your clothes, I’ll wait for you."
Not long after, Moira Young changed into a Bohemian-styled dress suitable for an outing and left with Adrian Grant.
The weather in Y Country was always nice, without the typical four seasons, every day was clear and sunny, and rainy days were rare.
The BBQ in Y Country was also famous, different from domestic spicy and cumin sauces or Korean kimchi and sweet sauces, their special sauce was rich and flavorful,
perfect with BBQ, elevating the taste to the extreme.
And the local ingredients were usually the freshest, so the meat quality was always exquisite.
Moira Young took a few bites of the juicy BBQ, and her whole being blissfully squinted her eyes, "How on earth is it made to taste so good?"
"If it’s delicious, eat more." Adrian opened a soda and placed it in front of Moira Young, "Be careful not to burn yourself."
"Thank you, Brother Adrian." Moira Young smiled sweetly, the next moment she suddenly covered her mouth and said to Adrian, "There are two beautiful ladies secretly taking pictures of you."
"Are you sure they’re photographing me and not you?" Adrian dismissed it, being secretly photographed wasn’t new; he was accustomed to it.
Moira Young nodded affirmatively, "Nonsense, why would women photograph other women?"
"Alright, hurry up and eat. After that, let’s think about where to go." Adrian said as he placed a grilled lamb chop on Moira’s plate, signaling her to eat quickly.
But Moira stopped eating after hearing Adrian’s words and asked puzzledly, "Shouldn’t we go back to the hotel and wait for Uncle after eating?"
"Your Uncle’s not a child; he doesn’t need you waiting for him." Adrian looked exasperated, "We’ll do our own thing, and he’ll surely call us when needed."
At first, Moira Young was reluctant, but with Adrian’s persuasion, she finally agreed.
After their meal, they headed to Theme Park Valley.
Theme Park Valley wasn’t anything special, whether at home or abroad, they were almost identical, with no distinction.
The first thing Moira Young saw when she arrived was the towering Ferris wheel, and she secretly thought that she must ride it once with Uncle later.
It’s said that if a couple kisses when the Ferris wheel reaches its peak, they will be together forever. Although she didn’t know if this legend was true, she still wanted to try it; what if dreams came true?
"Come on, why are you standing there in a daze?" Adrian had just returned after buying tickets and saw Moira Young standing there blankly, looking up at something. He couldn’t help but reach out and pat her little head to bring her back to reality.
Startled by the sudden tap, Moira Young exclaimed, "Brother Adrian, what are you doing!"
